this is more on the lines of what i expect this song to sound like. no disrespect to Cher, the italian gypsy that she is. The pure dirtyness of the vocals is fantastic and makes me wish the world would embrace more singers like this instead of the crap they do like Britney Spears, Miley Cyrus, and other crap like that.

I really this band but I would love it more weren't for those mishaps in the vocal. The lead singer should stay in tune. Cathy has a lovely voice and is a pretty good singer, but there are simply too many of these things for them to be a perfect band. And they're close!

The song was written by songwriter Bob Stone as a story-song called "Gypsies Tramps and White Trash". Producer Snuff Garrett advised that the title be changed and Stone changed to "Gypsies Tramps and Thieves" I think ,singers, ..Like writing something down should be legible.People with accents when they sing like a Brit it disappears.So, .. Understandable.

She has sorta an accent (MAYBE) but thats okay she is singing it her own way.

Dervish is a great band. And Cathy Jordon is a great singer! They took a song by an artist I really don't care for and made it worth listening too. Amazing what REAL musicians with REAL musical instruments, not sampling machines and beat boxes, can do.

I like this cover. The singer's voice is lovely in my opinion, not conventional, but since when does that determine quality?

It's funny to see all people complaining about her voice are 15 or younger. You have a lot to learn about the world kiddies. These are real musicians unlike the big stars you all love. These people know what it's like to play until your fingers bleed and your throat aches.

Lovely cover. I am always a bit in doubt if I really like Cathy's voice. I do not like everything she sings, but it definately fits this song! The arrangement on cd is far better by the way. Bodhran is missing here, the sound on cd is more dense. Anyway, great song, good performance, nice vid.

Much to my surprise, I really like it.

(The first listen through I was undecided.. but it grew on me.)
