From what I see here is not dragon. But Tiger movements from the Tiger/Crane Form. This guy does look like he has just copied these movements either out of a book or a video and is now teaching them. Five animal sytems are both Northern and Southern. They do not where Black Belts it is not Japanese. It is Chinese and you should be wearing a sash. Say want you want but the philosophy the guy is speaking is on point....The Dragons fights in angles...DECEPTION...is the Dragon's law...simalutaneous movements with high and low strikes...and its true that lizard feet are angled so it appears that they can only step out..however they still advance forward to the enemy...
That's one way of interpreting the dragon style, but what I have seen more of is how this style has your striking surface behaving like an oriental dragon. Stare at it and you'll see it too.

it looks like the style he's using is southern dragon style. southern chinese martial arts tended to emphasize close range combat and a more grounded technique whereas northern martial arts emphasized speed, ranged fighting and a good deal of leaping techniques. there's another video here (it's actually listed to the right) of a guy doing the northern dragon style and you can really see the difference between his technique and this guy's.

You keep talking about size of the practitioner in your videos. In my style I interpret this a bit differently and talk more about power. As you go through various stages of development you become more powerful. Dragon requires the most power to effectively use its techniques, this is does not necessarily correlate directly with size.

I learn from a guy that knows the son from the founder and he says in the dragon style you do it much fast, and when you search for videos from chinese dragon artist its very fast!
Search for "foshan dragon style" or Long Ying, that the Style Name: Lo(o)ng Ying Style.
It might be more of his delivery or presentation. He looks like he is doing some actual kung fu movements. He discussing the center line that is a heavy emphasis in southern kung fu families.
Wing Chun is all about direct attacks. Quickest way to attack is direct chain punch. I am not sure that this would be effective against such a martial art. It always looks effective but then there is always someone bigger tougher, meaner and non christian happy to kick your ass out there! Should a Christian really fight? The Shaolin Buddhists always confused me with that too!

Not a Chinese Martial Art. Did you see all of the Okinawan weapons on the wall. His stances are not Gung Fu and are probably based on Karate and he is trying to fool those who don't know better into believing he actually has studied Gung Fu. Try learning Hung Gar where the stances are low and practiced for years to strengthen you and perfect them of Northern Shaolin where the stances are fast and flowing neither of which you display. If you teach Karate then call it Karate.

You're right. There is nothing wrong with being Christian. But there definitely is something wrong with setting up a "Christian" martial arts camp. It implies that one must be a Christian to attend. Martial arts are not exclusive to any gender, race, or opinion. They could make it a "Caucasian-only" martial arts camp and the implications would be the same. But for whatever reason, one of those is actually considered "okay".

Most Christian-based or Church-based activities are meant to attract new church members, etc.

@shifudominguez I never claimed to be a grandmaster, but have been training Gong Fu for over 5 years, and trained in Kenpo for 5 years and tkd before that. I also spend alot of my spare time reading books on the different styles, theories and history. Give me a break. For the record my Sifu trains in southern 5 animals and I watch him doing dragon all the time. There is a big difference. What information can you offer aside from trying to chew me out ? Bring something to discuss or STFU !

Say want you want but the philosophy the guy is speaking is on point....The Dragons fights in angles...DECEPTION...is the Dragon's law...simalutaneous movements with high and low strikes...and its true that lizard feet are angled so it appears that they can only step out..however they still advance forward to the enemy...

it looks like the style he's using is southern dragon style. southern chinese martial arts tended to emphasize close range combat and a more grounded technique whereas northern martial arts emphasized speed, ranged fighting and a good deal of leaping techniques. there's another video here (it's actually listed to the right) of a guy doing the northern dragon style and you can really see the difference between his technique and this guy's.

You keep talking about size of the practitioner in your videos. In my style I interpret this a bit differently and talk more about power. As you go through various stages of development you become more powerful. Dragon requires the most power to effectively use its techniques, this is does not necessarily correlate directly with size.

I Learn the Dragon Style too, but he says that dragon Style is bot about beeing fast.I think thats not so right.
I learn from a guy that knows the son from the founder and he says in the dragon style you do it much fast, and when you search for videos from chinese dragon artist its very fast!
Search for "foshan dragon style" or Long Ying, that the Style Name: Lo(o)ng Ying Style.

Wing Chun is all about direct attacks. Quickest way to attack is direct chain punch. I am not sure that this would be effective against such a martial art. It always looks effective but then there is always someone bigger tougher, meaner and non christian happy to kick your ass out there! Should a Christian really fight? The Shaolin Buddhists always confused me with that too!

Five animals are a southern chinese style. This is very obvious that they watched a few movies and copied a few moves. This is insulting to the ancestors that past on the lineage of five animals. Not a Chinese Martial Art. Did you see all of the Okinawan weapons on the wall. His stances are not Gung Fu and are probably based on Karate and he is trying to fool those who don't know better into believing he actually has studied Gung Fu. Try learning Hung Gar where the stances are low and practiced for years to strengthen you and perfect them of Northern Shaolin where the stances are fast and flowing neither of which you display. If you teach Karate then call it Karate.

You're right. There is nothing wrong with being Christian. But there definitely is something wrong with setting up a "Christian" martial arts camp. It implies that one must be a Christian to attend. Martial arts are not exclusive to any gender, race, or opinion. They could make it a "Caucasian-only" martial arts camp and the implications would be the same. But for whatever reason, one of those is actually considered "okay".

Now how can you justify your comment, when I was told "NO Christians." @RemBot2000 Reminds me of the days prior to the 1960's when it was taboo, more or less, to teach KungFu to a non-Chinese. The only "Christian" martial arts club might be, for example, a karate club held at a local church for its congregation or parishioners who want to practice, etc. or perhaps as an outreach program for a particular community. Most Christian-based or Church-based activities are meant to attract new church members, etc.

And they hope something in your life will change for the better. It is nice, safe and peaceful. And christians make all relate to Jesus, even martial arts. as I see. Otherwise there wouldn't be a reason for throwing "Christian" into the name in the first place. If I decided to open a store, lets say "Subway", and I put "Christian-Subway" as my store sign, do you think many non-Christians would want to go there?

I doubt any of the foreigners that goes to the Shaolin temple in China are Buddhist. They are just there to learn Kung fu. It will only be wrong if this Instructor only accepts Christians which we don't know. But my main point is you need open-minded when it comes to learning things and respect other people's belief.
