For the record, my favorite Alan Rickman character is Col. Brandon, the perfect conglomeration of sweetness, nobility and honor. Can't get any further from evil, imo.

I dunno, I think the whole "don't want to spoil it for the kids" reason for not wanting to talk about Harry Potter is an excuse, because on the whole he's just sick of being/ talking about Snape. Apparently he won't even sign Snape photos anymore.
But yeah, we can expect these generic questions from mass media.

By now I'm sure Alan has prepared himself for the token villan question when he sits down for every interview. Maybe that's why he has such a peculiar face when he first arrives for them. Like he's thinking "okay what same, boring, idiotic questions does this person have for me today and which ones will I even be able to answer?" Poor guy!

I wonder what the kids in his family felt. They must have really hated him after a while because whenever they wanted to get information out of him about his Potter character or the story, he would have been like, "wait and see...don't want to ruin the story for you, etc". It must have been hell for them.

One of his famoust characters is Christopher Brandon...and he's just cute in that role and acts many ambivalent and good characters too, also in Love actually, Search f. J. Gissing, Bottle Shock, Blow Dry, Galaxy Q., The Perfume, TMD., Judas Kiss, Noble Son (Eli isn't a villain - only an arsehole - LOL), Snow Cake, did I miss something - certainly.
