  • How stupidly slow.

  • Quick question. where can i buy a hard top? i love this so much. i hate the rag top. i have a reg hard top and i hate it. i really want this!!!

  • i rarely ever want to drive in a convertible. But having a hard top with the ever present option to do so is just cool

  • i like the speed it builds suspense

  • the hardtop convertible fastest ever :-) anyway I really like it

  • wow, you basically have to take out the rear seats

  • omg! i cant imagine the speed of closing tis top when raining....

  • Eminem has this car haha. Wow I need a life.. :|

  • Way too slow

  • waooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo.

  • Too damn SLOW. Imagine trying to impress people and show off and go "look what my car can do... it'll be done... in a minute, hold on."

  • why doesnt ford make this already???

  • @slodude7 I was just wondering the same thing. I've wanted to have a Mustang convertible for about 6 years now but I hate the profile look and have security and weather concerns about a soft top. So many other manufacturers offer one...

  • Its a great idea with potential. Since the convertible version has even less trunk space than the coupe, I would find a way to make it fold out just like the regular convertible top, that way the back seat is still there. =/

  • I think I'd rather stick with the regular old cloth top for now. That hard top just doesn't have any shape... And besides, the cloth top doesn't even look that bad at all, and depending on where you live and what the weather is like - wouldn't you have the top down most of the time anyways?

  • @Go0mba10 cloth always looks like shit i know i had 2

  • Comment removed

  • is that stock or custom

  • custom.... cause they dont make hard top convertables -_- im still waiting for that day.....and i wish they would make a shelby gt500 hardtop convertable with all 5 seats!! NOT 2 seats

  • @urahara300 the gt500 has only 4 seats just like the gt and v6 idiot not 5

  • @jodyseabolt oh im sorry that the back middle seat doest count dumb fuck

  • @urahara300 there is only 2 seats in the back dumbass

  • @jodyseabolt lmao there is 3 dude

  • @urahara300 ok believe whatever you want but i had an 07 gt and it had 2 and the 2010s and 2011s are the same you can even go to google imaages and type in 2011 mustang rear seat and you can see it has 2 bucket seats

  • @jodyseabolt oh ok.. iight i realize when im wrong my bad dude

  • @urahara300 there is actually 2 seat belts.. but you can def have 3 uncomfortable people.. so yall r both right

  • @danecroft21 Its custom, think about it have u ever seen one on the street? NO!

  • sooo slow

  • it just looks awful and heavy without the top on.. just my humble opinon..

  • ha ha cool... backseats?

  • GREAT!

  • zzzzzzzzzz let me know wen its done opening

  • i hope it is gonna open today ! it is too slow

  • lol i kno. any time now....

  • @kibritiahmer

    thats because its a mustang

  • I think that's great work you've done there. Great idea that you actual developed into a physical piece rather than just a daydream, and I think it was worth whatever amount of work you put into it. Definitely worth losing the rear seats to me.

  • GAFOOOOOOOOOOOOooooo FUCKING maldito me hisiste perder el tiempo en esa GUEVONA

TU PAPA NO TE LO DARA PAAJUO

  • The only word in english is a curse. Lol

  • dosent worth sacrificing rear seats for that :|

  • i think it does.....cause i mean a softop convertible really takes the shape out of the car, plus backseats for mustangs are incredibly small and uncomfortable =\

  • WOW did u design that yourself, thats amazing i give you MAD PROPS

  • zzzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzZZZZZzzzzZZZZZzzzzzZZZZZzzzzzzZZZZzzzZZZZzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZZZZ

  • How much dose it weigh?

  • it's good but the 3000gt spyder is better, and has rear seats.

  • awesome idea but i dont like that you loose the back seats.. i would rather have it fold into the trunk or something

  • Hard top convertable = extreamly AWESOME IDEA!!!!

  • fu king slow xD

  • zzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzZZZZZZZZzzz

  • omg i want that car but i have a different mustang but it is still a convertable lolz

  • cool mustang

  • i have always asked myself why ford has not given the convertible a hard top, i hope they do soon!

  • OMG!!when the top finish closing,it's will be 1 year gone!

  • I think it is spelled CONVERTIBLE

    not ABLE

  • Thanks for the correction :)

  • Ah, no backseat at all, and from what I can tell, no trunk space eitehr.

  • It's not a family car. If you want a family car, go but a honda or something lol.

These are made for looks and speed

    not for backseat comfort =)

  • That is amazing!!!!!

  • wholy shit! my god!

  • i prefer the soft top

  • very good but it's quite slow.

  • its nice and everything, but ford sure does take their sweet time for how fast the top goes up and down.

  • dipshit. ford don't make that from the factory.

  • It's nice!!!!!!!!!

  • how is that nigger rigged lmaoo.. ur an idiot.. that looks pretty impressive... looks liek a good idea to send to ford if u ask me.. you could make alot of money. then you can make it a unique model .. maybe a new svt cobra.. supercherged to 450 rwhp

  • stick diamonds in it its still american, a piece of shit

  • Eh its alright, looks a bit weird from certain angles tho. They need to improve the look imo.

  • ugly

  • nigger rigged

  • before you say "cool" freeze the video at 1:23

yeesh! i own a stang vert and would LOVE a hard top... but thats a little too much trunk lid for my taste

  • MMM how much did that cost?

Is it true that perhaps next year or soon there will be making mustangs in Europe?

  • i doubt it. they will most likely stay american, but im sure if you are from europe you can get one there

  • I want your car!!

    :)

    hihi

  • that took like a minute to put down!!!!

  • transformer lol...

  • looks incredibly good with the top down, when its up its not quite so good

  • Its pretty cool but the rear looks TOO big with this hardtop and without the rear seats. It,s kinda ugly

  • thats pretty cool

  • ahhhhhhhh junk

  • very nice

  • Transformer.

  • i want to change my cars softtop to this one

  • whay??

  • thats outrageous and unique

  • I think it's cool and unique.

  • the top wass so slow u could do it by had faster u can tell that its not a normal mustang b/c the trunk istoo long the plastic covering the top when down looks extremely cheap it take the back seats away i wouln't buy this car if i wanted a hardtop roadster that size id spend a grand more for a benz

  • uhh.. the new mustang was based on the FASTBACK aka (NON-CONVERTIBLE) concept man, dont try to be mr. ford wizard if you dont even know.

  • that is so freakin slow

  • much better than the soft top i think its look cool too, great work .

  • LOVE IT! now make it faster lol sure you're wokin on it anyway. But it's GREAT

  • good job on that man fuck what the haters say...nice work

  • forget wht anybody else says man, THIS IS ONE BADASS MUSTANG

  • Peter, Great job on the new car! you have come a long way since the proto-type i took to my prom!haha all my best, your brother-in-law john

  • What kind of fucked up mustang is that? If the Real mustang was like this it wouldn't be my favorite car for sure!!!!!!!

  • I like how the hardtop gives the stang a sleeker look. I wonder how much heavier it makes the car

  • WoW good work

  • This is a really cool concept but after reading some of the other comments there is something missing. I think that a rear spoiler of some sort should be placed on there. It would surely break up the seemingly long rear deck lid. :)

  • good job f all the haters..jealousy is a bitch.

  • looks stupid

  • dont forget this is the first prototype. the production ready car will only take around 22 seconds to open and cloas

  • Its cool but its 2 slow.

  • Great Idea. It looks too Long in the back. I Suggest putting a spoiler on the rear deck.

  • zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • Nice concept idea.... poor build job though. It kills the looks and lines of the car. I respect the work put into making this happen... but... it just doesn't look good at all.

  • wait a sec. isnt the point of having a hard top convertable so that the car looks the same after the top is up? the way this car is set up takes a shit load away from the body styling.

i vote this hardtop mustang useless. sorry.

  • LOL! why is the kid hiding his face?

  • obviously they added that themselves they took out the back row seats to make room

  • A little slow but damn nice. The hardtop is the only way to go.

  • tooo slow..the bmw m6 does it in 25 sec

  • I'd buy one!

  • well the design they have now is supposed to be a spin off of the classic. and for the guy asking is it manly...most masculine out of all the american muscle cars

  • gerage, hate the designs, mustang should go back to the design they ahd from about 68-79 or so, style much nicer

  • I agree with the 68-69 design for the Mustangs but you HAVE to be kidding on the 74-79 Mustang II design!?!?! Those cars are, in my opinion, one of the ugliest Ford has made. I guess if you are a true Mustang fan you don't even really count the 74-79s.

  • i look at all of the comments and it makes me wonder... is a stang a guys car? i think im gettin a nice black saleen.. a newer one ..

  • that or just get a 100 pound lighter 00-14 gt.

  • Ponys are not meant to be convertible, due to the gayness of it, and the 60 extra pounds of hidraulics and machines to make it work, its just too heavy.. good luck at making 15's at the track. :P for the money... id rather restore a gt 350.

  • Ponies not made to be convertible? WHAT!?!?! You need to make sure of the research you are doing before writing comments. The 2005 redesign of the Mustang was based upon the convertible chassis for the better ride, more rigidity, and such as compared to all of the previous convertibles. The older convertibles have what they call sway in them.

  • too slow but awesome anyways

  • all i have to say to lotus boy over there is send some elise owners my way... ill show them what 600 rwhp looks like... along with my tail lights...

  • u guys are dumb the car will only take 23 seconds but this one was the prototype

  • I would have drowned by now

  • its too slow and it makes the car look sort of retarded.

  • mustangs suck its like riding on a fat person i seen a Lotus that has 190 horse power with a toyota engine vsing a Mustang GT that had 300 hp and the lotus whip the gay mustangs assssssssss

  • hahaha.i raced a shitty ass lotus and my 640 horses made that little v4 look like a rc car...which it is basically. 0-60 in 3.2! get that out of a lotus then talk to me

  • yours was not stock dum ass look on youtube this one europe guy raced a gay mustang i hate mustangs the owner of the lotus company died his car would of kick your ass so bad you would die they banned his car from events

  • lol. i dont really care if the maker is ddead or alive. all the thing can do is corner, which is all lotus' are made for

  • kemm hi?

  • it shouldnt be a fastback. because the arc finished too high on the trunk makes the trunk look too long. should be a notchback.

  • ***After reading some of the comments I just want to clarify a few things. The production model top goes up and down much faster then what you are looking at. The way this car was designed it actually weighs 100lbs less then a coupe!!! Expect only 500 made a year! Peter Muscat was also responsible for the ASC McLaren Mustang/ Capri's among other engineering designs for Mercedes and other manufacturers. ***

  • 23v2qavw

  • Maybe it is a little slow and a little out of proportions, but I give credit whoever designed it. That was a major feat of engineering.

  • that thing takes forever! but it sure is cool.

  • convertables slow ur fuckin car down cuz all the weight nd machine used to lift the hoods weighs more than the regular hardtops

  • its nice but i wouldnt drive it around, the back looks too long... maybe if you took some space off of the trunk it would look nicer... the convertable part is nice tho

  • is the trunk longer or is the rear window just longer? it looks like the window stops at the head rest ehrn the rear window should stop at the reat head rest

  • I dunno...I don't really like it. Then again, I have never been a fan of convertables. I know, sounds weird, but it's the truth. Give me a coupe ANY day over a convertable. That's not to say that I don't like DRIVING in a convertable, but I'd never own one. With the top down, it (and any other conv.) looks to boxy.

  • it could b offerd as an option.....

the corvette and the viper only come with two seats

  • I agree with the previous posters: this car looks odd. What a shame the rear seats were lost to accomplish this really slow top. A larger spoiler might off-set the rear proportions. Losing two passengers and a set of clubs may have an effect on the market, though. Looks like more R&D will be necessary. Don't give up, guys!

  • It took that top forever to go up and down.

  • o yeah. 4 the dude who said MB would say something, ford was the first with a retractable h/t. :) just sayin..

  • Where Can I Get One Of These

  • That's Rad!

  • that only took the length of this video

  • the hard top shit is pretty cool

but u need 2 fix it up if ur going 2 do some thing like that 2 it, at least put the factory spoiler on it cuz it looks plain and boring in its current state

and arytonjames fuck u fords are good cars i bet u drive in a fucken ratty ass bucket

  • very nice

  • Dont mess with the original bad ass mustang style if they wanted it to look like that they would of made it that way

  • STOP MOTION! Nah, just kidding. I think this is quite the feat in engineering, if Ford doesn't go for the idea, maybe Mercedes might scope ya out! Definitely a clean design for the angles and backwards building required for this retrofit! Kudos!

  • that car looks like shit as only a 2 seater. its long and U G L Y

  • Hats off man

  • damn dat shit takes 4ever

  • Hey, and it looks complex enough to satisfy the Ford engineers! All kidding aside, good job. I'll look you up when my 57 Skyline starts acting up again (which when working PROPERLY takes a little under a minute to open or close)!! -R-

  • Don't let everyone hate on the time. It's a prototype which means it's not the final product people. They will make improvements. Great car, great job. In the final stage I would consider a light bar for protection. Looks great with 2 seats

  • ford=junk!

  • now i feel better im not alone lol

  • bad ass

  • cool car

  • Very awsome!! I only hope Ford can afford to buy this idea and implement it in the mustang.

The rear looked a little odd though. Also, how about a functional light bar/Roll bar in there for looks and rollover protection?

I hope this design is refined and put into production.

  • A very BIG WELL DONE PETER. The concept and production delivery were in the 1957 FORD models up to 1959. FORD again leading the market place. Peter your efforts are outstanding, move forward with pride young sir

as you have developed and implemented the concept in the 21st century. The way forward with engineering developments "work in Progress " is ahead of you.

Well Done I love it. From FORDROAD in Australia

    5 STARS.

  • dude..it looks weird...BUT I LOVE IT!!..great car.

  • thank you :)

  • i looks odd,i think a targa top will look better.

  • Now thats pretty cool. i never had people in my back seat anyway. it gets filled with trash or books or cloths. at least it still has a trunk. Like to see how the next modle perform. Props too you.

  • impressive! its good mecanical process

  • As an engineering exercise, quite impressive. But aesthetically speaking, the proportions with the top up are all wrong. I won't be selling my Eos for that...

  • Umm, I own a 07 GT coupe, this one has the same roof line as a coupe. So how can the proportions be wrong? I think whats throwing you off is the quater window.

  • You're right. It's the whole lack of a "B" pillar.

On a safety note, what they have done to strengthen the windshield to keep it from collapsing in a rollover. There aren't any pop-up roll protectors in the back, the windshield frame will take the entire brunt of the force. I wouldn't buy this until they do a series of crash tests to prove that it could actually survive a rollover or a midsection t-bone (i.e., how does the loss of structural material on the b pillar affect an accident).

  • Not gonna hate...I actually like it. Maybe if you can make the motor that lifts the top stronger...and takes a little less time to open and close...I would be very interested. Is this a prototype model? Never seen this before.

  • Yes, this is a prototype model. It will be on display in various American Motor Shows. The next models will come out with an updated and stronger motor so that the top will work out the cycle in 23 sec instead of 30 sec

  • must have alot of time on your hands to do that. Kinda lame though that the back seats got removed otherwise it would be sweet. Now its just as lame as a corvette :( But Id still drive it before a vette haha :D

  • Oh wow, that's embarrassing I went to get a coke and when I came back that thing was still moving.

  • Very very cool, but I bump on only two things: 1) Takes a lot longer to open and close that a softtop. 2) Kiss your back seat good-bye.

  • Eh, nobody uses the backseats anyway...or at least I wouldn't want to be stuck back there.

  • That is very cool. The only problem is that it takes a super long time to open and close. Still a great job. How much will it cost to get that mod for your Mustang?

  • the top on this prototype currently takes 30 seconds to open and 30 to close ... however the final model will take only 23 seconds for both operations
