Stupid I don't know, but boring yes.

This is a manual landing. Autopilot disabled about 2000 feet QNH/1000 feet AGL, and as one can see at the FMA, autothrottle was disabled some seconds later.

About traffic i use UT2 (Ultimate traffic-2) in FSX now, but this little video was recorded one year ago, so I actually don't remember what traffic-setting it was at the time.

Well its FSX default Atlanta scenery, but I have UTX and GEX so all scenery in US/Canada is enhanced by them.

UTX= Ultimate Terrain X

GEX= Ground Environment X (GEX)

The Auto-thrust on MD-11 have its own button on the side of the throttle lever.

I use Saitek throttle and the AT-off is mapped to a button on this thru the ingame PMDG keyboard command menu.

The sky is made by REX (Real Environment Xtreme) textures, and I use ASA (Active Sky Advanced) to run the weather.

I basically keep the framerate up by overclocking. Intel quadcore Ci7@4,5Ghz and Nvidia GTX285, Vista 64bit. .

As you may know; framerate (FPS) in FSX is highly dependent on the prossesor (CPU) clockfrequency.

Overclocking is a technique where you edit some settings I the motherboard BIOS, to get higher frequency. My Ci7 is originally 2,66Ghz, but I now run it at a 4,5Ghz frequency. A huge advantage in FSX, and other CPU-intense applications...

I have gotten FS2Crew for the MD-11 today, and I DO need a little help with the checklist...

But actually, in the video I turn on the landing lights at about 1.30. But when you mention it, I cant see any light on the runway. Maybe a dusk/dawn glitch?

The landing is less than perfect I have to agree. Its over 20 knots wind from ASA, at maximum landing weight, and turbulence effects enabled. That coupled with some serious lack of concentration makes the approach a little bit flimsy, and the landing... should we say "firm"? (Hehe, the flight was cargo, and boxes don't whine they say... But i promise to do better next time)

And surely you have seen worse, even real ? :)

Yes its a great add-on the MD-11, and gfx are helped by UTX and GEX.

Yes, Atlanta and the airport is default FSX, but I have GEX and UTX for better ground textures. The sky and runway is loaded from REX, and the weather is produced by ASA.
