  • My name's Jack Jones!

  • Beautiful song and arrangement. Especially impressed with the background woman's chorus

  • Great singer, arrangement & composer (Johnny Mandel). What's really moving are the background singers. Absolutely beautiful.

  • oh my God he married the con artis Eleanora Laub, aka Donata, aka God knows what, this woman is a scammer and a thief, I actually saw the devil under her face, she is frightening and he doesn't deserve this...

  • Classic song and arrangement by a GREAT singer!!!!

  • great voice

  • Could you please upload Jones´ "Don't Wish Too Hard"?

  • Poor Jack, it seems he can't feel his real worth if he doesn't have a woman in his life and no one is saying anything good about this one...He has real talent but age is something he can't escape.

  • @clasax2 Well I guess its not to hard to work out, If you are good looking and can sing like this women will be there , and yes getting old would be a real let down, but as Im male and only average looking and can only sing when of my chops , I will go on listening to this talented singer and enjoy it.

  • Good enough

  • That voice.....those eyes.....that hair. He was and he remains one hell of an entertainer.

  • What's all this WAS talk? He is still touring, check his website. And yes he likes the ladies. Frank didn't admire just his voice.

  • @Dutch2236 He's playing Vegas soon. I want to go!

  • i call him a crooner not a clown like michael buble or matt dusk!

  • what a sad encing to his life to end up with that con artist Eleanora Laub

  • He had GOD's hair.

  • Love the voice, even though he's a chauvinistic bastard...lol.

  • I have adored Jack & his wonderful voice for over 40 years , Shadow of Your Smile is one of my all time favourites....just sublime. I thank God that he is still with us & even more that he is still singing-may you go on forever Jack. We love you. xx

  • Timeless... love his voice... now singing is so different...

  • My father was a wonderful singer as well at this time though never truely famous...and I still have a great appreciation for a song well sung. Beautiful voice...

  • WOW!!!!!

  • Jack Jones is one of the main reasons I never pursued a singing career. How could anyone top him? Yes, he is right up there with Sinatra, Tony Bennet and Vic Damone. I am so glad he is still with us. I know times have changed, but, it would be nice to have someone out there today this good. Michael Buble is ok, but not in Jack's ball park.

  • Jack & Jones :D

  • can't wait to see him in Liverpool in October, he may be 72 but he is still the greatest

  • Love the sets..simple yet classy.and Jack cool and what a voice....

  • totally agree with you, Kehoepat. he was a true talent, a glorious voice that moves me over and over.

  • Not many people could deliver a song so convincingly with their arms akimbo.

  • The best rendition heard of Shadow of Your Smile. Orchestra and women's chorus a beautiful addition. I've played this over and over. Johnny Mandel could really write 'em.

  • I have to agree with StevieB,heard him on WHLI(Long Island,NY) a couple years ago and found out it was Jack Jones. He right up there with Tony,Frank,Robert Goulet,Mel Torme!.

  • this IS Johny Mandel doing music but not Johny Mercer on lyrics, but latter did Emily with Mandel, a 60's classic.

  • Move over Robert Goulet ! One of the great talents of the last half of the last century. Jack was always under rated in my opinion. Easily as talented as Sinatra & Bennett... And "much better looking" according to my wife. Those eyes & the smile were always lady killers ! I know she still has a crush on him, but she hasn't left me yet. Thanks for sticking around Deb W. Love ya.

  • @StevieB1362 Robert Goulet passed away in 2007. He also kept singing 'till he end, had a fine voice too. Jack is a living legend!

  • Real Class

  • The twilight of class.-Apri Moi Le Deluge.

  • The twilight of class.

  • What an amazing era this was for popular music! Great "adult" music like this all over our television and radio airwaves, and right alongside it the "youth" music of Motown, Dylan, The Beatles, Simon and Garfunkel and the bossa nova and latin-pop of Sergio Mendes, Antonio Carlos Jobim, etc. etc... It was mind-boggling!

  • @TheCatgirl6 Oh... you hit the nail on the head... I can't say it any better!

  • Great!!!

  • Great!!!

  • OMG WHAT A TALENT and he is still one of my favorites.

  • I a;lways thought he had the most magnifesant voice and execution. Totally UNDER RATED

  • A fabulous voice from the past!! I wish we could go back to the times when classy singers like Jack Jones were the standard. There are possibly only two young singers around today who can sing like this- Michael Buble and Don Braswell.

  • Sexy version of Frank Sinatra. I can see what my ma (God rest her)saw in him.

  • class never goes out of style...

  • Great!

  • meraviglioso....

  • What a handsome man. He could have been a leading man in any movie. He was that gorgeous. And his talent? Wow! What a voice. I have always adored him - even as a young child I sat spellbound when he was on television. I hope he is doing well now.

  • Amazing...back in the good old days when singers really "sang" on TV...The orchestra was probably recorded, but Jack is belting it out on his own.

  • I wonder if he had a better voice in this video if the ladies weren't wearing those silly dresses and funny hairdos..

  • I think I"ve exhausted all the Utube videos of Jack Jones singing....WOW BRAVO...the innocence of yesteryear..he certainly was one romantic balladier...and also the up tempo ones are so sexy too...and he continiues to appeari in concerts ...hope to see him sing in my SF Bay Area this year... ..thanks for posting..

  • And he doesnt wear his pants falling off his rear end and a hat on sideways? How can he be called an "artist"?

  • ... and what about everyone NOW thinking "Wives and Lovers" is sexist! I guess he should've been singing about slapping his bitches 'n' ho's around, huh? lol

  • OMG I could melt looking at his eyes, hubba hubba!

  • Good timing-good diction-and a good vocal range and one of the greats !

  • He is still singing his heart out. He has aged gracefully, after all he is from good genes. Still a good singer.

  • Imalwayswatchingu.......your comment is hilarious!

  • If this is 3/27/66, why are there Christmas trees in the background?

  • @bh5606 those aren't christmas trees. just tree shapes.

  • My names Jack Jones, and I've just heard to many stories about this guy. When ever I meet a new person I hear..

"Jack Jones! Oooh, did you know he's a singer?"

    Oh god, do I know.

  • What a voice! Jack Jones had poise, class and the perfect sentiment for any song.

  • Great post! We used to watch the "Hollywood Palace" when we were kids! Classy Jack Jones!!!

  • One of the best singers in the business, he still sounds great.

  • I once met Jack Jones on Catalina Island back in "81" and what a gentleman he was and is. As I recognized him, he came over an spoke with me for a few minutes and then as he was leaving the restaraunt he knocked on the window outside and waved a good-by.

He is very handsome and down to earth.

Something that I never expected from someone with so much exposure.

    Real class!

Jack, wherever you are, you found a place in my heart. May God bless you!

  • Thanks for sharing your Jack Jones story. That would have made my month!

  • Your welcome, Yeah, that was 28 years ago and I never forgot how humble he was in coming over to me ( instead of the other way around ) and talking. When after I shook his hand and he went his way, about 15 -20 minutes passed when he knocked on the outside window to wave good by. I was so impressed and wondered why he would pay any attention to me.....I realized it was just the way he is.

I hold that memory dear and hope to meet him again in heaven above!

    I believe he'll be there!

  • What a great story. I saw Jack in concert recently and he has still got that beautiful voice at the grand age of 71. I'm a huge Buble fan but nobody does it better than Jack. :)

  • In record albums and videos, I've seen Jack Jones with white hair. Never this young. How old was he when he sang this, and in whose show?

  • GREAT performances!!!! Thank you VERY much for sharing this with us!!!!!!

  • I would be in heaven if there were singers like this now. Now it's all this plastic R & B junk that sounds like it's canned and packaged on a conveyor belt. Plus all the singers now sound like they have the same voice coach and the same wardrobe designer. Their pictures are nearly identical. R & B now just has no soul. Ironically, it sought to be the ultimate in soul, but wound up just a soulless industrial product.

  • JACK JONES, YOU ARE ADORABLE!

  • For the person who cannot decide between B. Manilow andJack Jones _ let me enlighten your musical tastes. J. Jones is one swinging singer -always a bit before the beat while Manilow sings behind. No comparison.

  • Oh Jack, always a pleasure..........and my favorite sandpipter tune..........dreamy

  • My favorite singer since I was 14. YouTube Jack Jones makes me very happy. Thanks to all the posters! Man, tall, handsome, soulful, groovy, JACK!

  • god where did the music that sounds this beautiful go...

  • Jack is a gem. Saw him Las Vegas 3 years ago. Terrific. I'm not sure who is better. Barry Manilow or Jack Jones?

  • I heard the audio version of his hit "Lollipops and Roses" on Last FM. I'm sorry to say that I was only familiar with the Jack Jones of the "Love Boat" era in the 1980s...

...this is like discovering a new artist (sad but true). Thanks for posting!

  • Now here is a guy who sings correctly with correct breathing, great diction. And why not, his father was Allen Jones who starred in the Showboat film in the thirties. Plus he acts polite, classy, has the cuddliest hazel eyes and is one hot guy. Still is. silviasweetnote

  • The singer's singer!

  • I've always thought of Jack Jones as some kind of a hot stud. He's very handsome, and with that very sexy voice. And he really took care of his looks even in old age. I love him.

  • Yeah, he was a singing Bob Redford when they were both young and handsome. Same type of looks.

  • now theres a voice eh

  • The best vocalist of his time. Thank you for posting. This goes to my favs.

  • These 2 songs are my favorite versions of them as is often customary when Jack Jones sings a song. Tony Bennett may have a version of 'The Shadow Of Your Smile' that is as great as Jack's but 'What Now My Love' is all Jack Jones. His singing on both these songs is perhaps perfect, wonderful delivery, range, technique, etc.... and the backing orchestra music which is always important for a singer is also perhaps flawless. These 2 songs show why Jack Jones is my favorite singer.

  • Jack Jones is in a class of his own as a Pop/Jazz Vocalist,Smooth Powerful Baritone. This man is a Great Vocalist.5 *****..Marc Jones-Vocalist..Los Angeles,U.S.A.

  • Thank you Marc! You know he is a great singer that´s why he is your inspiration in your career with musician and singer at all;

    I also like his voice very much;

    I appreciate it.

God bless you and good luck!

    peace & love,

    Daniela

  • Jack Jones was just such a vocal talent... he had the misfortune to come along when singing became confessionalizing or novelty... but for those who love great popular vocalizing he sounds as fresh as ever, his elocutive clarity and technical range are timeless...

    P

  • @Kehoepat SO WELL PUT! He was just coming into prominence when the rock craze took over, and never left really. Talent will out though, and these songs will live forever!Today there are no true vocalists or musicians!

  • very nice! I always enjoy your posts Dentel!

  • thanks!!
