Don't know if its just me but I've been on this ride countless times and I have never had my head boxed around as badly as that. Don't know what they put the little pretend F1 car on if it was new or if they were using one of the train platforms for it. Also, it seems to be running very slowly - I know wind resistance is a massive factor for this ride but ruddy hell its slow, lots of buffeting. Another thing, who is this guy? Is he a Formula 1 driver? I know nothing, someone enlighten me!

@TJDG1 Because they are stuck out in the air not touching anything, and the engine was stripped from the car. It was Ralf Firman's actual car but had been stripped of everything but the wheels to enable the stunt to happen (which wasn't really a stunt, it was all calculated and planned... basically just a PR trick).

@seasidersfcpool The car was just a shell with wheels, engine etc stripped out. It was bolted to a chassis of one of the normal coaster cars - they spent a few weeks preparing for it. The only issue in the end was whether it would actually make it all the way round without stalling, as like most coaster rides, the Pepsi Max is powered by gravity alone once it drops off the chain hoist, and the mass of this single car was quite low so it crested the hills slower than normal, but made it, just!
