  • Still works on 1.1... Yay :D

  • I'm having trouble getting the pistons to control the lava, it falls right through the extended piston. Is a piston mod being used, or perhaps sticky pistons? Playing with the newest 1.1 BTW.

  • @ChesterWhitlow sticky pistons should work

  • Works in 1.1!

  • Works on 1.1 Thanks!!

  • Works on 1.0.0 Great video!

  • Still works on 1.0! Yay!

  • woot! this is what iv'e been lookin for!

  • Got here from minecraft wiki

  • this on e wi XD

  • still works on 1.0 :D

  • I gotta try this out to see if it works for 1.0.0.

  • @gforguns It does!

  • @beansperkins Yup. Confirmed it after watching this video. lol. I just keep forgetting to add the redstone. lol lava mess everywhere

  • does it works with normal pistons in the new 1.0 release?

  • I came here from minecraft wiki lol

  • @microwavedturtle959

In this design, yes. Otherwise, the lava would be free to flow downwards, and you'd have made a cobblestone generator instead of an Obsidian one.

  • Great for SMP servers that use money systems.

And to make a really awesome house.

  • Thanks alot very nice video

  • Still works on 1.8 ! Yay !!

  • @lhommealenvers still works on 1.9 : D

  • you had to place over the stone block which was on the lever

you can add a torch to make a inverter so if the lever is on the piston are back

and if it is on it turns back :D

    [S] = Stone;[T]=redstone torch;_=wire;[L]=lever

____ [W][S][L] it has be verry cool if you add this ;D (im not good in english :P)

  • I made a generator for obsidian (check my videos) but this is definetley better.

  • I'm sure there is a way to build this without wasting so much restone lol...I'm going too get to work on one right now ;)

  • this was really helpfull thanks you! :)

  • he meaning @Susanjlvan of course >.>

  • Does this work in 1.7.3?

  • @fruityboy08 Yeah, apparantly Notch hasn't fixed this yet. I haven't got a clue what he means with advanced, but it works like a charm :D

  • @fruityboy08 Yes, it does.

  • Hey, I made this and if you use another layer of sticky pistons above the glass, hooked up to the switch also, then you solve the problem of lava falling out if you were on a server with other ppl in your base.

  • @THE123HAMMER Nice. I actually had overdone it earlier doing something similar but I went back and looked at my design and I found that I could simplify it alot by moving the redstone out in front of the upper pistons and using an inverter going up. Works well. My old design made the individual put the redstone on the floor...

  • @TCor3C It works now, ha ha ha

  • how the hell r we supposed to get so much redstone?

  • @9942ewis Well, I have like 5 stacks of 64 redstone and don't know what to do with it. There is pretty much redstone in the world, you just have to go very deep to find it.

  • @9942ewis redstone is ridiculously easy to get...

  • @9942ewis Well, every miner that goes deep enogh and brings some iron picks will have more redstone than coal in their inventory.

  • i won't download the mod, i am waiting for 1.7, there the pistons are included. does any body know, when the 1.7 update will come

  • @cheaterbaki For now, Minecraft Beta 1.7, so-called ''The Adventure Update'' has an unknown release date. Probably not so soon.

  • @SusanjIvan what a pitty :(

  • @SusanjIvan Actually, 1.8 is supposed to be adventure mode update.

  • @SusanjIvan was 1.7 known as the adventure update? because now 1.8 has that name

  • @TheLuigiManFan No, it's the 1.8 whoch has that name. 1.7 had no special name. 1.9 will be the second part of the Adventure Update.

  • @TravellerTTT ps i liked the vid :D

  • @cheaterbaki tomorrow...

  • @cheaterbaki June 30th. aka 3 days ago

  • @TheSkrynx ... you are right but i posted this a week ago...

  • You are so stupid. The redstone makes the lava be a dead spot so when the water hits the lava it makes obsidian. Not redstone. UNDERSTAND MINECRAFT!

  • @nerffanatic97 Who is so stupid? Obsidian is formed from contact from water runoff colliding with a lava source block. It doesn't form from “dead spots”. Dead spots that are not lava source blocks still only form cobblestone and nothing else. This is in fact a glitch with redstone. Perhaps you should UNDERSTAND MINECRAFT before insulting other people.

  • @nerffanatic97 Yeah, that doesn't even make any sense.

Anyhow, 1.7 is out! Works beautifully.

  • Notch i dont get it redstone dust+water+lava obsidan

  • thats great. but they never made the piston yet =\

  • Nice slideshow man.

  • Why don't make a button? With button you don't must always pull lever 2 times.

  • @inecki A button gives power for about 0.9 seconds. Pistons must be retracted for 3.5 seconds, so that isn't even nearly enough. However I could add a monostable circuit to a button to prolongue that 0.9 seconds. If you don't know what monostable circuit is, check out the Minecraft Wiki.

  • @SusanjIvan It isnt necessary but you could use a button and multiple timers (using repeaters) to make a button work but I probobly wouldnt do it either

  • @SusanjIvan oh snap!

  • Why does it need redstone on the front row?

  • @Chewerific Read the annotations.

  • @SusanjIvan Thanks, I saw most of them but must have missed that one.

  • doesn't the obsidian drop into the water sometimes?

  • @wangqile123 This is extremly unlikely and water current usualy pushes it out.

You can counter this by simply adding a door to the area with water.

  • Greatly made dude faved
