We moved to Montreal in September from a house at the top of Tillicum Rd SW. What a sweet little reminder of ... last year.
Even though it's as hilly as Seattle Montreal has serious snow management chops. Here it would be possible to ski down from Mount Royal to our place if the small army of snow removers and salters didn't clear things up so fast.
wouldn't have minded seeing you cross calif and fauntleroy. you could do that in fast frame slipping the skis on and off. but fun to watch regardless :)
@dewndsurf Sorry that I edited that out - I actually didn't take the skis off, I just poled across. Fauntleroy was better than california but there was totally enough snow on each and zero traffic.
childhood memory flashback...106th and marine view drive down to fauntleroy ferry dock in the late 1960's on my best friends' dads' old skis. you made my day!
@xmltrainer the downhill part was a little bit less than six minutes - i edited out a couple of flatter parts.Total trip was about an hour but that included stops for fiddling with the camera.
The phrase "Emerald city, emerald city... we love it, we love it!" keeps playing in my head, and i love it! :) Great video! I watched it a dozen times :)
This is great, you went by my son's school. I"m sending to all my East Coast friends to explain why cars and drivers don't do well in Snow....i mean if you can ski, then it is a little too hilly for cars.
@girlinseattle Started at the water towers at Myrtle Reservoir Park (?) but the first down hill spot is at 36th Ave SW/Othello in west seattle... Followed Othello all the way down until Lincoln Park Way.
I saw you fixing your ski's yesterday out in front of my house and wondered what you were doing. Then I saw the video and went - Hey, that's my neighborhood!
@iitalix it's actually a west seattle shirt - I bought it at seattle logo pro in west seattle. I love those skis... I did the whole thing without putting an edge in the snow/pavement to keep them fresh!

Loved the music. It was completely in synch with the action on the video and it supported the mood as well. Nice going!

Wow. I really wasn't expecting the main character to drown at the end! ;-)
But seriously, this is cool - how long did the trip actually take?

The only thing that would make this vid better is if you were to add Street Sign annotations through the duration.
