  • please notice mat on deck of ship, prevents the coil from rolling away.I use these coils, and one time saw a man working for me trying to stop a moving coil!He is still alive but beware, once they start rolling, make a sharp exit.

  • how many coils do the ship take with it

  • Really interesting video! Thanks for posting. It's fascinating to see what work is like on a ship.

  • Interesting vid, thanks, some silly questions I suppose, please, why did not the crane operator lower the coil directly onto the stack ? The forklift truck, is that the ships own that stays on board etc or is it provided by the post people? and final stupid question no doubt, but do you get a chance to go ashore for a bit of a look around ? thanks eh.

  • iT has to be placed on the floor and then picked up by the forklift because if you place it directly on the stack then the stevedore cant unchaind it off the spreader and fort security reasons the stevedore cant walk over the coils because it can cause the stack to collapse and the fork is laoden onto the ship by the sts crane

  • Hi Amed2012 many thanks for your response, that now makes sense, That working environment is very dynamic eh !! I have no doubts that you would have to keep your senses alert and guard up, with so many things going on. Thanks again.

  • Very informative. The crane is like a giant, considerate insect!
