  • An anatomically perfect and 100% believable dragon. At last! Amazing work!

  • @ReiuShanra thanks!

  • Awsome

  • were did you get the music from ?

  • @dalewightman12345 Composed it in Sonar, using EWQLSO Silver edition.

  • that is siiiiiiiick

  • @albosss12 thanks!

  • Why r u so good! Plz check out my videos... I only have two but the rc boat one is poo. Plz check them out!

P.s. Make more plz and keep up the excellent work!

  • wow! that's incredible!

  • @FlyingZamora thanks!

  • Thats awesome mate, keep up the good work!

  • @FluorescentBass thanks!

  • Awesome! I especially love the wings. :) Most people who do dragon animations seem to have no idea at all of what to do with the wings - you even included hides that actually bend like as if they were real. Awesome!

  • *applause* well done.

  • @DAndrewL1 thanks :)

  • Whoa not bad. Not bad at all.

  • @Draconicrose Thanks :)

  • Hey, can I use that for my next video? I will give you credits

  • @RobertPictures This video? Or the dragon itself?

  • @Swidhelm If you got a rigged model, it would be great! but the video would be okay too (chroma key)

  • @RobertPictures I do, for Poser, but it's for sale at Renderosity. You can use the vid though.

  • @Swidhelm ok, thanks

  • very nice work. looks very realistic

  • Nice work. It looks very good and sure one of the best animations on YouTube.

  • where did you get that dragon motions?

  • @DragonNadder I animated it in poser by hand. Then ran a cloth simulation for the membranes.

  • Hey that looks like the dragon from lair nice job!!!

  • @pokegirltasier6 Thanks! Was inspired by the Plains Dragons from Lair.

  • Awesome!! I have GOT to learn how you did that!

I've bought some of your wing suppliments for the dragons over at Renderosity after seeing how great they looked. I'm still playing with them. I don't know how you got such fantastic results--you must have shitloads of patience that I don't have :D

One day, I'm hoping to put together a dragon that uses those cloth-memberane elements, too.

  • @RyuuAMcCF Thanks! It is a bit tedious letting the simulation run that long (a couple hours at least) but I love the results. If ever you want to make your own dragon with dynamic wings in poser and want any tips, let me know. I've got the process pretty stream lined now.

  • I've been using Campestergum as a base for depicting my brother Dracos... not entirely accurate but its close ^_^

  • I wanted to give you kudos on the wings, and making them actually plausible. Very nice to see a dragon that will not suffer from 'hanging-butt-syndrome' while flying.

  • @shiariryu Hey, thanks man. That's one of my biggest pet peeves with dragon designs. I hate membranes that come right up under the shoulder and that's it.

  • Wow.. Super Dragon ! ! !

  • You just keep getting better and better don't you. The animations are spot on man you are so talented. Thanks for the list of programs used at the end.

  • brilliant ! what is the dragon going to do in next movie? does it fight another dragon or fly?

  • what is so bad with poser? :).. if u can make something to see, its no different which programs u use.. poser is a hobby style easy to use one.. i love to have it.. i dont have time to give my years for learn 3dmax or maya :)..

and which morphs does dragon have? grasp like i meaned..

  • @drakhean Poser is alright, but the kind of art I want to do I can't do in poser.

The dragon doesn't have a ton of morphs, but it does have graps, nostrils, eye blink, and thorns to make all the thorns longer.

  • @Swidhelm ye poser is very limited i know.Anyway no need so many morphs but neck-body-tail easy posings would be great.. at long animations it became hard to control that parts by one by.

And that dragon looks like the dragons in "Reign of Fire" and the ps3 game "Lair" .. its very nice.. i am still looking good alternatives to mill dragon.. becouse milldra was good but its very old.. cant use with vic or m4.. subdragon same.. we need more "serius" dragons.

  • @drakhean Thanks. :) All my dragons use Easy Pose for tails, necks, hands and feet for grasping. I love Easy Pose. It's too bad those dials don't save to the pose library though. And I agree, the mill dragon is very dated looking. I made dynamic wings for it to help spruce it up a bit, but I almost never use it anymore.

  • @drakhean Have you checked out Dinoraul's dragons? They are pretty good. Myself I like the larger membranes so angled my dragons towards cloth lab use.

  • @Swidhelm .. in future do u think u will do more textures-morhs for tat?

  • @Swidhelm

Make the dragon in zbrush. Export it to 3ds Max to rig it. Export it to poser to animate it. Export it back to 3ds Max or whatever program you wnat to render it.

Poser is a great program that works with a lot of shit out on the market. You just need to know HOW to do it and its a very powerful tool.

  • @Paskatomten I'm still learning Max at the moment. Have done some displacement maps in Zbrush, but never used it in Poser. I like poser, but it's rigging is very simple. It's the falloff zones. Max, Maya, and even Blender do a far better job of rigging. This dragon I rigged in Poser and to get the wings the way I wanted them I made use of the cloth lab--poser has one major drawback in it's rigging. A child bone cannot touch another child bone or you get torn mesh.
