I used to listen to this voice as a child on All India Radio. May be that's why I like/love classical music, despite the fact that I don't understand it at all.
Ustad Abdul Karim Khan along with pandit DV Paluskar remain perhaps the best melodious classical voices ever in the history of recorded hindustani classical music.
Just yesterday I was listening to another classical song by this great thumri master. Totally seamless movements on the scale.What a joy, as close to a spiritual experience as it gets! Thanks, Mirzaji.

My father used to say he knew Carnatic music raagas also and has given performances in Mysore.
