Seger is a classic legend. Seger and his men deliver potential energy performances that brings the audiences into their music. Seger, Reed - all this group are true artist (very few exist today). My son plays sax - Soprano, Alto and Tenor - it doesn't matter to him - he just wants to give it all away. He starts his shows with this sax intro. - he says it allows his spirit to speak to his audience. He cut his teeth in on Seger - my son is 13. Who knows - maybe someday he will help Turn The Page.
I just want to thank Bob for writing this.I am a huge Metallica fan and their cover of this is one of my all time favourite songs. Both Bob's and Metallica's version are superb in their own way.Metallica did it justice and kept the emotion in it.
this was one of his best songs he has ever made and that is mine and my fathers song when he and i where moving all over the road it makes me cry when i hear it bob just keep up the good work and take good care of them babys of yours
Well I love Metallica and have been since 1984. As far as this song goes, the cover is good but it is a cover. This is original and in my opinion no one could do a better version that Bob. This is a great song and should be respected. As for the smart person who mentioned not being in the same league - Lets say The Beatles covered a Metallica song - does that make it better because not even the great Metallica is in the same league as The Beatles....
Are you telling me metallica did a better job on this song than seger cause if thats the case some of you need to know the difference in a legend and a heavy metal band....and no its not shit..
little do you know that Metallica covered THIS song. besides dont say this is shit, your mom and daad probaly got it goin in the back of the car havin you.
Metallicas not even in the same league as this guy, lets here Metallica do this when there in there 60's. Now that will sound lame :) Rock on Bob your the man!
I really like both versions, I like Bobs, well because he is the man and its the original, and Metallicas because its different musically, but stays very true to Bobs!
what ever i know he wrote the origanl ya its a great some but in my opinion Metallicas why of playin the song hits harder and sounds better to me bob seiger is cool shit not gona lie about
Thank you for posting this, I am going to see him in 2 days in Boston, watching this pychs me up. I saw him 10 years ago and he was awesome then. It is just awesome having all the people singing with him, it's great. I am sitting 14 rows from stage, center, so should be a decent view. CANT WAIT TO SEE HIM!!!
hey thanks for the great upload...im goin 2 c him in a couple months...j/w if he still plays mostly the classics or if it is a lot his new album..thanks!
Man, I remember being in my first garage band, opening for Bob Seger and the Last Heard when "East Side Story" had just come out. It was at a club in Detroit that was called the Drumbeat on 8 mile. That was 1966. Good to see Bob still doing it 40 years later.
WOW! Showing your age with the CKLW reference! Detroit is getting super duper lucky with another couple of nights in March to end the tour at Joe Louis Arena. I saw him in Dec, and it could not have been a better night in any way, shape or form! The audience sang every note with such power and heart, I'm surprised Rockin' Robert could even hear himself! Love the man, love the music, love the legend!!
