  • i love angela lansbury. im glad shes still with us.

  • Lovely to hear this. Might want to look into more AFI. Ms. Lansbury - ever since Bednobs & Broomsticks - to Murder She Wrote and in between - a gracious, amazing lady. If you don't think so - check her out in Thoroughly Modern Millie. WOW, and WOW again, eh? She's just my favorite in her own, very own, category in my life.

  • She is such a grand dame ans she is not because of her success but because of her love for her work and her kind heart! She is adorable and I thank her so much for everything she has done!

  • 2 people must not be fans of Dame Angela WTF Dame Angela is the coolest

  • I love Dame Angela P.S. she looks so much like Paul McCartney that I wonder if they're actually related

  • She makes it sound like it was the first animated film to win for both score and song, although she could just be being unclear. Little Mermaid had done the same thing.

  • No one melts my heart and brings a tear to my eye the way Angela Lansbury does. :-)

  • mrs lansbury is right, it very important to play for children, their memories are very strong . i was not a child when i hear the song and saw the dancing between the characters, but this is a strong memory for me....

  • I love her!!

  • mrs potts.best charachter ever.

  • she was 83 here, wow!

  • 2:10 "I wasn't really sure if I could do it justice."

Dude, shut the fuck up!!! :D

  • grand dame..................angela

  • She seems like such a sweet old lady. So kind, and with a beautiful temperment. Beautiful :D

  • This woman is the embodiment of class.

  • When I was a little kid, I wanted to be Angela Lansbury when I grew up. Not any of her characters, just Angela Lansbury herself XD

  • she is so god as mrs potts, the best voice of all languages!

  • She really is a heroine

  • I Love You Granny !!!

  • @Annes240

    are you her actual granchild?

  • I love her so much <3

  • Angela is quite right actually;

B&TB; is one of the last animated films to be hand draw and hand painted in every single frame from the first to the last.

It's credited as the last which in fact is partly true. It is actually the last animated film to be done fully be hand. Other Disney films however only used that system for a part of the production. Pocahontas was in fact the last animated film ever to used the hand drawn and hand painted system.

  • @daviddarkmaster The scene inside the ballroom was actually done with computer. All other scenes were done by hand

  • @Organplayer30: Well, the ballroom turn-around was done by computer, but the characters themselves were hand-drawn.

  • @TherealRNO Also if it was hand drawn I can't imagine they did the whole film frame by frame. They must have animated the movments by computer.

  • @BoyWithBlackWings07: They did. But otherwise, much of the film was hand-drawn.

  • @TherealRNO Wow. That is really impressive. :) They drew the characters with so much personality as well. :)

  • @BoyWithBlackWings07: Yes, it is. It was the last feature to be predominately hand-drawn for the Disney Renissance era (aka The Golden Years). Most recently, the 2011 Pooh film returned the company to its roots.

  • She was the one who played Mrs. Potts?!?! I've been watching Murder She Wrote for all these years and didn't know it was Mrs.Potts' voice...I feel so shocked/embarrassed now!

  • adoro Angela Lansbury

  • i'd love to have angela lansbury as a granny - she's so cute and graceful!

  • @happysasuke11

doesnt everyone? :) i think many ppl are with you. shes wonderful, classy.. i LOVE her to death.

  • im a little sad she seems to have adopted an american accent full time now. i hate when people move somewhere and loose their accent. amazing lady though it has to be said.

  • @hormoneoverload

Well, she came here over 60 years ago so i think she can be forgiven if her speech pattern has come to resemble that of the locals.

  • omg i freaking love her! But honestly who the hell is the 1 person who "disliked" this video?

  • @avenueyay Someone who had on childhood? lol

  • it's mrs. lovett!!!

  • she is such a sweet old lady

  • "the old, who Know everything"

  • She meant to say exactly what she said...hop off. Like her character in A Little Night Music says, "the old, who lnow everything"...unlike everyone responding to this, she was alive when all that went down. She is a Queen of the stage and moving reel and deserves all of your respect.

  • I only relate Angela Lansbury to her role as Mrs. Potts. I had no idea of her previous work in Broadway shows!!!! She is amazing!!! I can easily picture Mrs. Potts as I hear her speak.

  • I do think Mrs. Pott's face looks like Angela lansbury! it was such a great choice to let her sing the song!

  • What is she introducing BatB for?

  • That opening narrator sounded REALLY bored. Why would he be bored? It's Mrs. Potts!!

  • she is a legend and i love her mrs potts and i love her in murder she wrote

    but mostly mrs potts

  • Angela Lansbury is so kind, gentle, caring, like a grand mother!

  • Everytime I see Angela she seems such a kind, elegant and nice woman...I would really like her to be my grandma!!!

    :)

  • She also says The Jungle Book was released with the likes of Little Mermaid etc...Jungle Book was released in 1967

  • Comment removed

  • @Darzy92 Well Jungle Book was kind of the start of what Lansbury called "The Golden Age of Animated Movies"

  • i love angela lansbury she is so talented the best role i've seen her in was mrs. santa claus

  • Angela's facts are a litte dodgy. BEAUTY AND THE BEAST was not the first animated film to be nominated for an Oscar. The very first one, SNOW WHITE, was nominated for Best Score, but still received an honorary Oscar. Their second attempt, PINOCCHIO, won two (Score and Song, "When You Wish Upon A Star"), From then on, their subsequent animated films were nominated and sometimes won the Oscar (i.e. DUMBO, BAMBI, CINDERELLA, ALICE IN WONDERLAND, SLEEPING BEAUTY, SWORD IN THE STONE, JUNGLE BOOK).

  • In fact, DUMBO was the last Disney animated film to win an Oscar (1941) until THE LITTLE MERMAID (1989), which set off the Disney Renaissance. TLM won two Oscars (Score and Song, "Under The Sea"). The four films to follow (BEAUTY AND THE BEAST, ALADDIN, THE LION KING, POCAHONTAS) also won in these categories. A Disney film didn't win again until TARZAN (1999) took home the Best Song Oscar. Then with the advent of the Animated Feature category, Disney/Pixar has won almost every single time.

  • Anyway, BEAUTY AND THE BEAST does have the distinction of being the first and only animated film to be nominated for Best Picture, an honor it will likely hold forever since animated movies now have their own category and Academy voters may be reluctant to pin it against live action films, considering the backlash they received back in 1992.

  • wow! u really are a geek!! haha.. but cool facts lol :)

  • Hahaha! I know. But I love animations and have studied Disney extensively so this knowledge comes to me naturally. :-D

  • Of course she means the first animated film to be nominated for Best Picture.

  • when you talk about a movie being nominated you are obviously talking about the best picture cateogory!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It was the first animated movie to be nominated for THE Oscar, as in the Oscar for Best Picture. One word off.

  • This is not the first, this is the ONLY movie to be nominated for that award. :)

  • @mizzfreakster96 Not anymore it isn't!

  • I know...Up was next. :)

  • @mizzfreakster96 Up was as well though.

  • Beauty and the Beast was the first animated movie to be nominated for Best Picture, though.

  • Angela Lansbury is truly one of the most gracious, kindest celebrities I've ever had the chance to meet. Sweetest woman ever.

  • @markstern123 I'm sorry, I know you wrote this comment a year ago, but I just had to ask.... When and where did u get the opportunity to meet her?!?!?!

  • @markstern123
