  • This makes me wanna hug my cat

  • @moobert22 hug that pussy!!

  • love deerhunter

  • Don't like Deerhunter but this is nice.

  • mr. cox is my hero

  • does anyone know what this video is about? im very interested in it?

  • hipster shit

  • @ILuvJoeJonasSoMuch01 piece of shit

  • @OlderWaiter Are you refering to your name? Because that makes the most sense.

  • @ILuvJoeJonasSoMuch01 HAHA so typical from a person that has "i love joe jonas so much " on youtubes account name. You must be really smart, go suck on your small minded boyfriends dick and watch americas top model together

  • @ILuvJoeJonasSoMuch01 Are you refering to your name? Because, that makes the most sense.

    :)

  • Wow, I just listened to this song and I think I levitated....

  • Reminds me of the band Slowdive. Likey.

  • nice! sounds like MBV but more melodic and less noisy.

  • *generic comment about how this is such a good song and how it is a universal injustice that shitty pop gets more views*

  • @Shermanicus ahah , generic but so true! =)

  • @AlexanderDelarge100 yeah i know...just too many folks saying it is all

  • What IS it about this song. Makes me go dreamin'

  • This song reminds me of heroin and putting myself in self-destruct mode.

  • @xsgtpepper yea man i dont do heroin but i know what you mean... makes me want to accept my demons and addictions

  • @volvoamsel wow, you must have some disgusting balls.

  • @volvoamsel those bands play on the Hollyoaks Music show every week!

  • @volvoamsel you sound like someone who listens to Staind or Soundgarden.

  • @migol1984 woah woah, yes staind are UBERWANK but soundgarden rock my granny knickers to infinity and beyond

  • @KingSandwell soundgarden is old and overplayed.... the whole grunge scene was overhyped. there's no way to define crappy music other than that "teenage angst" got really annoying with their dirty baggy jeans and plaid shirts. staind was the same in that they followed suit to the grunge scene, but made it something else a little more whiny. This here is the new deal with a little more sophisticated sounds.

  • @migol1984 its not overplayed for me as i am 18 and live in the UK. but it doesn't even compare to Bradford Cox

  • @KingSandwell i agree it doesn't compare. i'm 26 and grew up with soundgarden, alice in chains and pearl jam during my high school years. i overplayed them.... and now i'm annoyed by them.... and now i realize that deerhunter and atlas sound surpasses them in sound. i just mentioned soundgarden to poke fun of the other poster.

  • @volvoamsel haha staind fiend

  • Love this song. For me, reminds me of driving through thick Oregon forests with sun rays shining through. Beautiful memory.

  • amazing song

  • amaze

  • this song ironically reminds me of being a 90's kid even though it has nothing to do with that really.

  • @gocanes93 it does sound kind of 90sish with a modern edge

  • sounds like chino from deftones for real

  • I walked outside..

    I could not cry..

    I don't know why..

  • Wicked tune in tune and with tune!!

  • man this song is the perfect tempo.

any faster or slower and it would not be the same song.

  • i wish i didnt have insomnia so i could fall asleep fast enough to this song

  • oh no you are from south Asia.

damn, don`t you in Buddhism to pray world

peace. I am respect, south Asia Malaysia ,

and the color and the vigor.

  • That's funny, I'm color blind.

  • please don`t call Japanese to Jap.

it`s sound so jap.even makes me feel .don`t you think.who call impolite yanks or freaking white.

  • what a depressing thing...

  • is that jap softcore porn in the bg?

  • @jiniton I dunno daaavey, but I like it :) Pleasant face and that.

  • @jiniton if that was jap soft core there would be alot more tentacles, alot more...

  • the guitar distortion and voice reminds me of MBV. in a good way.

  • what is with the half naked girl in the background shit this totally ruined the song

  • @casettecathedral the lyrics/video suggested to me someone who is emotionally disaffected. he walks outside, sees something and wonders why he isn't moved to cry. my take: the bedroom, the girl are a part of his microcosm, which is taking precedent over what he finds outside. The image of the girl is superimposed over the famous moments in history on video, national tragedies (JFK), big accomplishments, celebreties--- with which he feels remotely acquainted. the memory of the girl is closer.

  • @AjoyFulnoise9 Being emotionally disaffected is basically it. My friend and I were talking to Bradford before a Deerhunter show two years ago or so and I recall him saying it to be something about the passing of his father and despite everything that had happened between them he couldn't cry at his funeral. Sorry if this information is wrong, it's been awhile since that conversation so my recollection may be a little off...

  • @conchettas It was his aunt who passed away and he couldn't feel anything while visiting her death bed. He talks about it in the Deerhunter blog I think.

  • @DerekMcA Ah, my bad. Thanks for correcting me.

  • VERY ugly video but good song

  • Vedi, vedi nice.

  • I forgot how gorgeous this song was. Been listening to alot of Atlas Sound since the Logos leak.

  • this was on ideal

  • Yea, that's where I heard it. Been searching for it since.

  • for fans of my bloody valentine

  • New-gaze

  • hahahhahaa thats a good one :D (no sarcasm)

  • Shoegaze is a bad enough genre name, new-gaze is a whole other level of bad. This is shoegaze/psychedelic.

  • oh yeah "shoegaze/psychedelic" its so much more of an "adequate" term for this

new gaze.... pfff what was he thinking!!

    (i am being sarcastic)

  • MGMT. Of Montreal. Animal Collective. Atlas Sound.

Does this trend have a name yet?

  • There are a lot of names tossed around: Freak Folk, Psychedelic Pop, New Weird America. But to me it's just experimental pop music.

  • Hmm, perhaps New Weird will stick.

  • "chillwave" via hipster runoff.

  • yes. it's simply 'amazing.' :)

  • Hi I hate mainstream music just for the sake of it. But I play it off by being really pretentious, so its all good.

  • so... having taste in music makes me pretentious and automatically hateful of 'mainstream'? c'mon man.

  • pretty hateful there brah

  • ...more like HAUNTED by the ghosts of psychedelica! ho ho!

  • channeling the spirits of the psychedelic world oooo

  • @lukeloseth say that to Atlas Sound and Panda Bear, who've collabed with MGMT.

  • this may be one of the most beautiful songs i've ever heard. this mr. cox is quite a talent. cannot wait to see them in chicago this weekend.

  • locus amoenus

  • perfect

  • It certainly isn't a sad song... rueful is a nice way of describing it; perhaps a little haunting. Not to be played if you are down, but a great mellower if you need to chill (ambient in other words!).

  • what a great tune!

  • I wouldn't call this song sad at all. It's ambient and maybe a bit rueful, but not sad. I listened to this song a bunch of times along with most of Let the Blind Lead Those Who Can See, But Cannot Feel while waiting to be operated on...melted away all of my worries and anxiety.

  • such an amazing peaceful melody... love it

  • Who is that singing woman?

  • That woman is Bradford Cox.

  • Response to broorno: B. Cox has Marfan's Syndrome, which makes him skinny; it does not, however, make him an Asian with tits.

  • hahahaha!

  • great work man...

  • awesome.

  • Amazing song! Wonder if they'd be able to pull if off live?

  • course they can, its up on youtube

  • Such a sad haunting song...
