Bernadette Live Paul Simon and Marc Anthony

Paul Simon is one of the best contemporary song writers of all time. He and Mark Anthony did a good job together. Anthony's voice is excellent. This song in particular: Bernardette is so good and moving that I am amazed it is not played more often. As a matter of fact, I listened to it for the first time a couple of months ago; I was really surprised to know that it was part of a Broadway play. Why the lack of promotion at the time?

The musical was a piece of shit - but great song. Simon often comes across as pretentious and a know-it-all asshole, but when it comes to songwriting, you can't deny that he's one talented son of a bitch. I'm such a big fan of his - rock on Paul!

He has every right to come across like a know it all. Nobody can sing with such passion and have a chip on their shoulder for no reason. He just cares about the planet, and I'm sure for him its a real battle to be an optimist. I bet sensitivity never goes away from him, even when he feels ice inside.

This is one of my favourite Paul Simon songs, and I was really impressed by Marc Anthony's performance of it. The passion for the song was written all over their faces... bit of a misty moment at this end!! THanks for posting - it's awesome. xo

I agree....one of Paul Simon's defining pieces of work. Underrated & panned in the theater by critics because of the story content. But good show and better soundtrack!
