The layout of the lift system and the rear, 3 bearing nozzle on the F-35B (note: the F-35A and C don't use the vertical lift system) was purchased from the Yakolev company.

A is the airforce version which takes off and lands on runways (the smallest, fastest and stealthiest version and has an internal gun, unlike the other 2 versions)
B is the STOVL version that can operate off small helicopter carriers and hovers when landing.
C is the carrier version which has heavy landing gear and a hook for carrier landings. Also has bigger wings and different aileron system for carrier ops.

That's no longer an issue. Late release F-22's are all fitted with different RAM materials which have no issue with weather and require no special maintenance. All F-22's are being fitted with it when they undergo RAM touchups.

The F-22 can turn harder than any other fighter at high altitude. Aerobatic displays of flankers at 5000ft have absolutely no relevance to real dogfighting where its about maintain speed and turn rate.
The F-35 will be able to turn as hard as an F-16 or F-18 but has the advantage that it can fire missiles at aircraft from any angle, unlike the flanker which needs it target to be generally in front of it.

There are 3 versions of this plane. A, B and C. B can hoover (Like the harrier)
A or B Is based on the F18 because of strong landing gear

@ESC8781 It can fly in rain.The problem is that the rain washes of the f-22's stealt coating.They might have fixed that issue by now though.
The f-35 is more like a fighter bomber then an actual fighter.It excells in many roles and can defeat enemy fighters in over the lign of sight combat but it fails miserably in dog fighting.That's why the navy is keaping the hornets as an air surpriority fighter.

They've prooven their competence a few times.The US should have chose their YF-23 instead of that piece of junk f-22.

That's no longer an issue. Late release F-22's are all fitted with different RAM materials which have no issue with weather and require no special maintenance. All F-22's are being fitted with it when they undergo RAM touchups.

The F-22 can turn harder than any other fighter at high altitude. Aerobatic displays of flankers at 5000ft have absolutely no relevance to real dogfighting where its about maintain speed and turn rate.
The F-35 will be able to turn as hard as an F-16 or F-18 but has the advantage that it can fire missiles at aircraft from any angle, unlike the flanker which needs it target to be generally in front of it.

@adrianwillis360 The didn't compare plane vs. plane at any point. In the computer scenarios (no real planes actually flew) the Russian and Chinese planes often outnumbered the American fighters 3:1. The conclusions were arrived at using a lot of assumptions, and no real planes were used. If anything it shows that quantity does matter. Cut and paste from the report: It was showing that the JSF would, in the majority of cases, defeat an aircraft like a Sukhoi well beyond visual range.

If you actually know and read up on stealth it doesnt make anything "invisible" it just reduces the radar cross section. and has to do with what frequencies are being used. and the b2 wasnt shot down...just the cockroach. B2 crashed in guam. read up before you go spitting facts out.

The other thing is that stealth is useless if you have heatseakers locked on you or in dogfighting.The only thing you have then is the evasive manuvers and the flares wich won't save you for long + there is still a chance for radar based AA to shot you down.

@planelander Я думаю что идеального самолёта пока не придумали. У каждого самолёта есть свои плюсы и минусы. Российский SY-35: 37 превосходные самолёты и радует что доказывать не приходится. В нашей стране разрабатывали самолёты с возможностью вертикально взлёта. Но количество затрачиваемого топлива при взлёте и посадке слишком велико. Дальность полёта при условии такого расхода топлива очень сокращается. Выглядит красиво, но толку мало. Даю ссылку, включите субтитры.
