  • @lesliekorshak If you think the south was built on so called "racist hate" or are offended by the confederate flag or the song Dixie then you need to take a history lesson they were built on what the souths perfect for agriculture and fought the civil war to protect their lively hood not for slaves! I love the south long live Dixie P.S. Your comment was uneducated!

  • How is it possible that something so heartfelt and so hauntingly beautiful elicits such knee-jerk, racist hate?

This is a treasure as well as an accurate, recording of much of this country's past...

    Thank you for posting it.

  • So you thought I was talking about coloreds?

  • @BlacknesUnforgivable Haha, that's funny.

  • If we could just reverse time even as short a time ago as 1960, what a wonderful place America would be again. Our ancestor understood savages and knew how to handle them. A strange government has forced us to open the gates and allow every animal to run free on the farm, thus destroying the greatest country ever given man by God. I will be glad when the war of recovery starts. Only bloodshed will solve Americas' problems now.

  • @rebboy58 Your ancestors WERE animals and savages

and whites are on the losing end today...you turn to "bloodshed" and you will lose ;)

  • Great video. Oh to return to the days of the Old South when cotton and sugar were king! Luxuries flowed, the privileged were pampered, dresses were deliciously billowing wide, and the arrogance was justified. Long live Dixie!

  • These are wonderful homes and you did such a wonderful job making this film!

Its a shame our greatest plantation homes have been lost!

Belle Grove (i have a video of it up on my channel)

    7 Oaks

    3 Oaks

    Uncle Sam Plantation

    Rosewell

    Windsor

and many many more I would love to reconstruct them all!

  • It sad to see soo much achieved on the backs of other people. Certainly, you can see that. The same premis is being pushed today. It amazes me, certain folk just can't stop, take a breath, and see reality.

  • @joraejean your point is?

  • @aragon667 ...You guess

  • @Bynkers83 It's not a disgrace to me. I'm of European descent. My ancestors came here to make a better life for themselves and some of them were murdered in cold blood by heartless, red savages. They helped make this the riches, most prosperous country on earth with their blood, sweat, and tears. The glorious rich history of the United States of America is a testament to the success of Protestant, northern Europeans. Name one group of people that has ever built a finer nation.

  • @Sistarovat Europeans = red savages

  • The history of the US is a disgrace :Genocide of native Americans, slavery and last but not least discrimination far up in the 20th century.

  • James131284, this may be a year old, but if you're going back to someones father three times, as you listed, I beleive that they might have been a slave... My you are a angry person....

  • Those who do not learn from the past are doomed to repeat it. Those who live in the past are condemned to remain there among the now dead where there is no life, love, and forgiveness.

  • This is beautiful and thanks for sharing it.

  • Could you please tell me what soundtrack you used for this? I would love to purchase a cd of this beautiful music. Thank you in advance.

  • theres an abondoned on down the road for sale in sc. its a shame. its huge but the porch is only held up by one column

  • I love plantation homes. My family owns one and although I will never live there, I love visiting. My dream house would be a plantation home somewhere in the deep south. :)

  • My family has one down south in lousian never been there though

  • Antebellum architecture WAS beautiful and the houses were extremely well built (not like the McMansions folks overpay for nowadays), and alot of them were built, and, in some cases, designed by slaves and free people of color. They are a testament not only to the ambition of the planters but the creativity of the slaves whose labor made them possible.

  • I'll take the one at 1:12, please.

  • How gradiose and luxurious! Like it or not, Cotton was King and the results are nothing but eye-popping. How awesome it must have been to have been to have been a member of the cottonacracy: the lavish clothing, the pampering by 24/7 servants, and the privilege to party, dance, gamble and drink expensive wines on a whim...

  • I love southern plantation architecture. Which version of shenendoah is this? its gorgeous.

  • America was built on murders, lies, trecherousness, greed, Selfishness, racism and it really is a dam shame. I see no glorification in such a plac built on this type of behavior. But this is what we call America. Taken from the people who lived here with thier tribes. They called them Indians...but is that what the people of this land called themselves???

  • This is a harsh comment you've written, but it's true. Being an Asian American, I call this my home. But what is there to be proud of--of being an American--when those before us have suffered to make this land better? It's hard to believe we have it better than those before us, and we should be grateful for them.

  • Yet this differs from any other lands history, not hardly. Yes the Native Americans were fighting each other for possession over the land too. It went on in ever land by every types of people.

  • Get out of my country. Now. Nothing but bitching. Why don't you pick yourself up? It's been 150 years. You weren't a slave. Your father wasn't a slave, his father wasn't a slave, his father's father wasn't a slave, and his father's father's father wasn't a slave. No one in my family owned slave. Shut the fuck up and pick yourself up and do something with your life. Judging from your spelling of "damn," you obviously pissed on your scholastic opportunities.

  • @james131284 This isn't only YOUR country so get a life and stop ranting!!

  • @james131284 Look white boy this isn't your country, your people stole this land from people that were already here and kidnapped Black people from 9000 miles across the ocean to build it so if anybody has a right to this land it is the Black and Native American, you can take your murdering, racist, lazy, lying asses back to cold ass Europe. This is our land because we paid the ultimate price for it, the total destruction of our humanity as a people.

  • @ShabazzAllah1 so youd rather still be in africa eatin bugs than here?

  • @ShabazzAllah1 I understand your bitterness for your ancestors, I am part native american, and what was done to some of mine was a nightmare for them, but do not be angry with the people of today, my neighbor did not do it to my ancestors, and by continuing to blame a neighbor for what was long ago, the healing will never begin. Learn from your ancestors, how strong they were, and yet, still out of misery found a way to love, that is the legacy they leave you, be proud of it, not bitter.

  • @ShabazzAllah1 Also you say that only black and native americans paid the ultimate price? What about the white men, that fought along side the black men to rid slavery? And today, the white man, still fighting along side the black man, dying because their country say they must fight, to protect the rights to keep us all free? There is no color to humans, only ignorance that places it there as a barrier to keep us apart and at war with eachother.

  • @ImmaLoyalWolf Your opinions are wrong and you do not live in reality. There are colors to humans, any person with eyes can see that. Black men were fighting for their freedom during the civil war and white men were fighting to preserve the union. I wish white people stop saying they died for the freedom of Black slaves when they know that is a lie, white union soldiers treated Black civil war soldiers just as bad as the confederates and that is a fact.
