I have not seen this preacher's video..but there is a portion of the Bible that says for us to "hate" our parents...but it is not the form of hate that we are used to.

I have to disagree with you on that. Although most Christians have those traits which you described it isn't what they should be doing. A lot of Christians today have taken parts from the Bible and distorted their true meanings. For example, some Christian believe that having faith in God will make them rich but that is not the case. Same goes for this pastor. It's people like him who give Christians bad names.
