Watching the commercials at the end here is yet another sad reminder of how damn good film used to look--alive, ethereal, deep and weighty. Nowadays they seems to shoot commercials with off-the-shelf digicams from best-buy and it looks so damn cheap.
Vicki Lawerence is one of the most famous game show celebrities out there. She never lets her mouth stay shut when she has something to say. Even if it's to the most genial personality on the set she still gives them a piece of her mind. The episode here was okay and had some real personality from the celebs. I'll give it 4 stars thanks to the personality that it had but not necessarily to the way the game resulted.
I think this is the first time Dick Clark didn't say his signature line "For now Dick Clark, So Long." on the Pyramid. He said this "I'll send your love to the judge, bye-bye."
Yes, indeed the judge did get owned. I think I know what Vicki called him even though it was censored out (though I won't include it in my comment). She rules!!! Everyone was laughing, and so was I!!
Actually, there were a couple of times during the New York era where time was so short at the end of an episode he would just blitz through the cash totals, say "We'll see you all tomorrow," salute and then leave. At least one of them was during a week Anita Gillette and David Letterman were panelists.
Was this the Monday episode of the week? and do you have any color Beat the Clock episode from the 1972 Gene Rayburn week as guest star you would like to upload next?
Yup, yup! Vicki was a game show rock star. I think this moment ranks right up there with the 1988 "testimony" foul-up with Rip Taylor on Super Password. :)
It would been neat if the Judge showed its face

Skip Hinnant from The Electric Company doing the voiceover in the Tetley
commercial and June Angela from The Electric Company (in the white shirt) in the 7-UP commercial. I bet that rain shower does feel good. :)

Then maybe, GSN has skipped over an episode between this week and the Heidi Bohay/Michael Spound week from April 28, 1986 thru May 2, 1986.

I see. Before they began the practice of that stupid ass credit crunching thats very annoying and dumb and doesn't feel necessary.
