I respect a few people in the industry and along with Charles Poliquin, Gray Cook, Bompa, Kramer etc. Paul Chek gives me the edge and versitilty to work with many clients. A lot of comments posted is a sure sign of lack of understanding of Paul's work and extensive research. Never squash an idea because someone tells you its wrong, look at the research around the area first, then make your mind up. Keep up the good work Paul, YOU MAKE ALOT OF SENSE and hope to get on your courses soon.
@TheJustin1978 paul chek shouldnt be mentioned with those guys ,they are formally educated in their fields to a very high level.Poloquin however can be an idiot when he tries to step outside his expertise into nutrition.Paul has never done any scientific research, hes a clown the more he gets away from physical training into nutrition, spirituality etc
Cool demo. I no longer take balls outdoors, they all seem to attract thorns or something, because every one of them has lost air via a slow leak. I use them exclusively indoors now. I also didn't know Paul Check made or endorsed a brand of swiss ball. And nice Vibram Five Fingers. Don't think I've seen that model.
This is one of the most elite accomplishments in athletics (standing on a swiss ball)...so why don't all of you take your naive stupid comments elsewhere. this guy is trying to help the elite athlete choose safety over cost. I'm amazed at the disrespect shown here. and who the heck cares what type of shoes he wears, he obviously can stand on a swiss ball in them, and is likely a much more intelligent and conditioned athlete than all of you here combined.

@maddenproject its not athletic you idiot,it has zero to do with conditioning or strength.its a specific skill that almost anyone can do with minimal strength requirements and a lot of practise, also it doesnt transfer into anysport other than possibly surf/skate/ski.
until you know me and my training background, take your insults elsewhere. Your comments are repulsive and arrogant. You are in no position to call me or anyone an idiot. ... and I don't recall ever seeing your name ANYWHERE as the designated one to pass these judgements on others.
@billysue2 ..Have you completed the educational courses at CHEK? I didn't think so! you could never understand it, since I've no doubt it would be way over your head. I work for a clinic that uses the CHEK methods, we are all CHEK educated...and ALL the insurance companies (Yes...even Medicare and Blue Cross, Health Net etc) cover our services...why? because we are helping THEIR clients & restoring function to their very PAINFUL & DISFUNTIONAL lives, with amazing results. Go complain elsewhere!
@maddenproject .The lad himself has no formal education in the field(but has done well with self education).Ive an undergrad in athletic therapy and physiology and a masters in biomechanics of injury, ive also seen all the articals chek has in the public domain and its overcomplex, unfounded rubbish in parts but mostly good quality when he stays away from nutrition and his other quackery.Nearly all therapy is helpful, that doesnt mean its quality.
soooooo if u dont do exercises on glass or exercise on screwdrivers a normal ball would be just fine..i wanted to see him fall when he popped the blue ball.
lmao,im 2ft of the ground but im really nervous!rofl.guys dont watch this if your expecting something funny to happen, hes actualy serious.i think hes a homo,he really loves big swiss balls!
Even when it's not poorly made, the darwin ball is a bad idea.
Why do all of these healthy people want to work out with physiotherapy tools? You'll get a lot more out of squats, a lot more safely, just by using a challenging weight on a stable surface.
LOL, have you ever tried to skate board off a flight of steps and land it without falling back or forward upon impact? Pro skaters make millions as do other extreme athletes who have to launch and land on odd surfaces with implements that have directional stability at best. Besides there are many ways to use the ball for both open and closed chain conditioning. Probably one of the best single exercise tools ever designed.
Tow factors that contribute to how your muscles develop from exercise. 1st is position, 2nd is the amount of effort that is being exerted. When doing anything on the ball, you are limiting the amount of force you can produce but a very high percent. Also, you are never in proper position at any time due to the unstable environment. The results that you attain will be less then optimal.
With out the insults, Cross fit focuses too much on volume, not enough on position. You can get just as good of results with many other programs but get much better strength gains. That is what cross fit lacks is it doesn't enhance your abilities, actually it will only help the areas you are strong at. Not too mention it only trains a few aspects of your strength and endurance. For people trying to tone up, its good. Not for people trying to enhance performance though
@PaulChekLive yeah that guy doesnt know what he is talking about, doing squats on the ball with weights would be a good way to workout pretty much your entire body between what it would take to squat and what it would take to keep yourself balanced on the ball in the first place
@billysue2 i dont even know what i was talking about in that comment since it was so long ago, but seeing as it made no sense im assuming that it was a joke
@PaulChekLive id presume that the vast majority of clients who use the swiss ball standing exercises are not prosurfers, skaters or skiiers and therefore the risk greatly outweighs the benefits which are grossly exagerated anyway.Standing on a swiss ball is a specific skill like juggling that isnt transferable to other balance activities.I do use a ball for some exercises with some clients, mostly prehab and rehab, never standing on 1.
@billysue2 it's actually good for core strength and stability...also it help motor nueron reactions that i won't even go into...seems to me people have a negative attitude towards the exercise because they can't do it
@simon1234543 there are excrcises on the ball that are very good for both those areas but standing on the ball isnt one of them ,its a waste of time .Motor neuron reactions is a completely meaningless terminology.I can see some use for the exercise for a skater, surfer or skier but its still not near as beneficial as doing drills on the board or skis because its not specific enough to spend time on.For the fitness entusiast its useless and potentially an ankle sprain .
swiss ball and bocu training is for fuckin fairies and is useless...its something people use to get attention...unfortunately...people who know what they;re doing laugh at these faggots
i have no belly you dipshit....i am 5'10"...170....5% body fat. my best mile is 4:18. my best event is the half mile in 1:52.8. i can bench press 265, squat 305, and pull 315 off the ground. how about you "LOOSE" your belly.....then go buy a dictionary. once again....CROSSFIT IS FOR PUSSIES
FINE!!! Google my name and look at all the track results....Google image my name and you'll find a picture of me running.....JAMES ATTLE....HA...YOU PUSSY!!!!!!!!!!!!
For how worked up your getting, your not that impressive. Dont get me wrong, your in good shape, but far from being in a position to start ripping someone a new butt hole for doing cross fit. Judging from how your front delt looks in the picture it wouldnt take much to easily add 40 lbs on that bench. Your left foot on that stride in the pic shows it turns out when you run. Fix that and your squat will go up along with all your times on your run will improve too.
