@rockinrollfan37 Hey thanks man. I almost forgot I had this video on here still. This is an old video from when I first started using Movie Maker. Yeah, that's a really nice paintjob. Looks way better in person though.
i know first hand the train doesnt go into the yard anymore from hardings. inside b.i.w. there has been regular discussion of completely removing the steel rails entirely from the dry dock. THEYVE GONE TO TRUCKS! they bought a fleet of freighliner cabs and use leased trailers. ignorant but no one ever accused that place of bein overly intellegent.... but hey its a good job can't complain.
Yep. About 42+ semi truck's worth of concrete can go on there just from that short 13 car consist. The concrete cars were the empties headed back for refill. Also, the flatcar of steel plating was headed to BIW for the shipyard.
Just think how much better shape the roads would be if less trucks were on the road. I'm sure most communities would appreciate the lower road maintenance costs, and the lower taxes. Trucks are hell on pavement.
im kinda confused on the whole maine eastern thing.....i only thoght it was going to be the pasenger train thing like a scenic railine like in conway nh.....butttt i see this vid and others and even a vid of this loco at east deerfield lashed up with some pan am units!!!! im so confused gp9railfan help me out here haah
LOL. Yeah, Maine Eastern also does freight service for the Rockland Branch as of 2005. When you saw 764 in Deerfield, it was probably on it's way back from the re-work facility down in N.J. 764 used to belong to Amtrak before Morristown Erie(Maine Eastern) acquired it. Hope that helps you out. Thanks for asking.
@GP9railfan Actually, Maine Eastern has been doing freight service since 2003, which was when they started service. But, they didn't have 764 back then. Before, they had 1501 assigned to most freight trains. Great video BTW. :)
Will do! I'm going on it again this weekend, for one of the fall foliage runs. It should be fun. Most of my stuff is Maine Eastern related, so, deffinately stay tuned for lots more. Glad you enjoyed watching my videos. Thanks for the comments!
There's a bunch of those around here. I can get videos/pics of them if you'd like. My tripod is missing the camera mount at the moment. I don't remember where I put it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks. I'm glad you like it. I'll be posting alot more stuff on here in the next few days. Bangor & Aroostook/MMA @ Northern Maine Junction, along with a Russell snowplow open tour video next week.
Yes. They serve Dragon Cement, Bath Iron Works, & a whole bunch of other places along the route. It's really busy on this branch these days. Especially since diesel fuel prices are so ridiculous right now. There's an average of at least 1 train per day. Thanks for watching!
a very great sounding and great looking geep! keep delivering great video gp9

Well, that trip saved the streets and highways for who knows how many tractor trucks that would have had to be used to haul all that.
