  • I need help every time i tin it it just melts on the hole tip what am i doing worng i dont have a full soldering kit yet and im trying to learn how to solder the youtube way and with bad computer boards

  • if i use old soldering wire does it make a diffrence while soldering

  • instead of wet sponge how about if i use steel wool to clean the tip?anyone can give me an advice.

  • he sounds like a child pornographer.

  • 0:00

  • THIS GUY IS CRAZY. See how close his fingers get to that fucking thing? Oh my god. Wear gloves if you're gonna do that... nuts.

    Sorry. I just... oh god.

  • ANYONE soldering reguarly MUST have good ventilation in the room, the best way is a ducted exhaust extraction set up. A handy person can set such a thing up themselves. Have a duct opening right next to the work, a fan within (a hydroponic shop can supply one) and a large diameter pipe exeting the building. THE FUMES ARE TOXIC

  • i would not like to live in that fucking dumb village

  • Woah this video is awesome!! only if I could see... He put what he all said in one whole caption which covers the whole video...

  • rofl, safety glasses XD that's great.

  • I use steel wool as used to clean pot bottoms.

  • yea i have solder with acid core and i sisals and in burns when it pop's

  • new soldering iron DOnot come pre tinned you have to tinn them yourself only the cold heat is never tinned

  • my physics professor in electrical circuits said if the tin balls up like water droplets on wax paper then you're doin' it wrong!

  • This was a good video and I learned something and have been trying to solder for a long time. I will remember it the next time I perform a job.

  • it puts the lotion on its skin

  • no offence but don't brand new soldering irons come pre tinned

  • i've been watching videos from this particular channel to learn more helpful ways to mod my 360 controller. i messed up my first one (not the controller) i probably should have learned more about soldering before i started.

  • yeh same lol :)

  • haha wow i have this soldering iron from like the early 80's and man i wish i would have tinned it.

  • same here, just file the tip down to a nice copper color (may vary by material of tip) and do the process above

  • at 1:19 does it look like he burned his left hand to anyone else?

  • but wont a wet sponge screw up the iron

  • Wet sponges are always used with soldering irons.

  • this may seem like a dumb question, but i noticed you tinned, then wiped it off, then tinned again, im confused, why did you wipe it off? i probably missed something there, i have learning difficulties

  • cause hes showing u how to tin it hes not weilding anything

  • SAFTEY GLASSES?

  • awesome!! this flux for fucking not for soldering ?

  • Buy flux, put iron tip in flux, solder!

  • so why exactly do we tin the tip? does it make a difference if i just go ahead and begin soldering without doing this first?

  • the solder goes smoother, and sometime u don't need to use any solder at all if u get enough on the tip but u don't want to purposely put too much solder on the tip.

  • Tinning basically retards rusting of the soldering tip. At higher temperatures, certain metals tend to degrade (or rust) faster.

  • I HAVE THAT SAME IRON!!!

  • me too

  • can i use regular sponge to clien the soldering iron tip?

  • No. because the normal sponge wet or not will begin to burn with a very bad smell ,i used an old bathing sponge and it does the job,,also wet tissues will work fine

  • Holly crap r u crazy u like touched it

ive been burnt by one and it hurts like hell and u dont even care u just keep talking

  • i hate american accent

  • There is no such thing as an "American" accent. It is like saying "British" accent. There isn't any "British" accent. There are lots of different accents to be found in the English speaking world - the US and the UK, not to mention Australia.

  • pretty sure the "L" is silent, it's SODDER...same with salmon...it's SAMMIN .

  • When you can't even say the word of the thing you are doing then you can't be a good teacher. SOLDER SOLDERING you muppet.

  • Ahhh! Watch your hands!

  • Thanks for the tips.

  • If you think this guy is sexy you'd love Mister Rogers

I was surprised he didnt say Hello Neighbor

"Now just do the tip while its still hot"

But it did teach me to tin the tip!!

  • love electronics but this guys creepy

    aha

    i agree with c06031983

  • I'm interested in this stuff, but I can't watch these videos...this guy ross makes this stuff sound so sexually perverted...something in his voice...creepy.
