ANYONE soldering reguarly MUST have good ventilation in the room, the best way is a ducted exhaust extraction set up. A handy person can set such a thing up themselves. Have a duct opening right next to the work, a fan within (a hydroponic shop can supply one) and a large diameter pipe exeting the building. THE FUMES ARE TOXIC

the solder goes smoother, and sometime u don't need to use any solder at all if u get enough on the tip but u don't want to purposely put too much solder on the tip.

Tinning basically retards rusting of the soldering tip. At higher temperatures, certain metals tend to degrade (or rust) faster.

No. because the normal sponge wet or not will begin to burn with a very bad smell ,i used an old bathing sponge and it does the job,,also wet tissues will work fine
