when concentration camps were freed by americans, the americans tried to care for them, gave them food, medical care, ect. my grandmother was in aushqitz and was freed by the soviets. they opened the gates and told them "you can go"...the starved desperate inmates ran to a nearby farm and pulled raw potaotes out of the ground grawing on them. americans of that generation was something special and i am deeply grateful.

All the vets represented in the show that I have seen interviews for are amazing folk! I give them all the respect I have to give.

@pinkxjellybean they don't make americans like thisanymore. my generation is selfish and self righteous. they want to get and don't want to give. those who join the forces still inspire me but the way the folks back home were keeping a body count and undermining their efforts in the iraq war shames us.
