  • one of the top songs of oum kalthoum ! poetry, music maestria!!!

  • This womans singing is absolutely fantastic!

  • one of my favorite uk song,

I never heard this version before ,its amazing!!!

    anyone have it in full?

  • One of the divas of human humistory.

  • This song exemplifies the true soul of Arabic music: a composer as genius as Zakariya Ahmad creates the palette to which the singer, in this case Umm Kutthum, can choose the colors and add to the painting, creating a mosaique of melodies and vocal enhancements in terms of vibratto, nasality, breaking, that intensify the meaning of the lyrics. Creativity at its best!!! I wish Arabic music had continued to evolve like this. This woman has been the songstress of Arabs since almost a century now.

  • phantastic , she is still wonderful.

  • It is said that she could bring an entire audience to ecstasy with her interpretation of poetry. Incredible voice! I do not understand the language, but I can hear the poetry and the music in her. A goddess!! Thank you - from California.

  • @LaFourmiRouge it's arabic, my mom listens to her all the time that i memorise half of her songs!

last year i visited my cousins in kuwait, you should've been there they had an exhibit in 360 mall.. it was wonderful, you should see the pictures.

  • @rammstein2ful How stupid you can be?

  • @rammstein2ful it's her problem if she wants to comment bad things bout other cultures, but don't be just as low as anyone is by replying just ignore.

  • @delia0rockstar who the fuck are u actually to forbid me comment about a bitch that insulting my culture???ur a fucking fag man,get the shit out of here!

  • @rammstein2ful it's my culture too, and i doubt that U have pride in it cuz if U did U wouldn't post sick words that discribe how sick U R, and when a person tries and give U some advice U shold just respect it not go around cursing the person who gave it 2 U, cuz in UR culture (as U say it is) U are my brother &should actualy respect me, but since U are insulting yourself, i won't even say anything else 2 a person as low as U R.

  • one of the greatest singers of all time

  • 66 year old song and it is stil fresh, what a voice, the best ,just sit back and relax so pure. we love her voice here in israel and yes we are part of the mideleast. E....

  • No, you are NOT a part of the Middle East; you are intruders and occupiers to our land. You are NOT related to this part of the world, and have nothing to do with our Arabic world, culture, history, land, language, or our people. You are cancer and a wart that has infected the body of the Arabic world, which will exterminate you and demise you with time.

  • I love the mix makam Siga and makam Bayati

  • זה משגע לשמוע את הקול הזה שמעתי כמה פעמים we'ant b'alff shokran, it's so beautifull thanks from Israel USA

  • @nagarhomes welcome :D and come to egypt see a beatiful of semitic arabi egyptian history of music arts and ancient thinks!

  • Is there any more of Umm's music that has this same emotional intensity combined with musicality? I listened to many other samples of her on YouTube but I couldn't find anything else this powerful. It seems the 40s were her golden years; to my ear, her voice became coarser after that, as if she were shouting. The subtlety of this reminds me of Ali Akbar Kahn's sarod. There's not much in Western music to compare it to, except maybe the end of Janis Joplin's "Ball and Chain" from "Cheap Thrills".

  • @ckorda try lessa fakir, it's my favorite. and look for her CDs her songs are atleast an hour long.

  • Im Arab, Musician and a Rock Metal Progressive listener and Ican tell You that OM KALTOUM is the Very Greatest Singer of all Times in the Arab World, Her music and Feeling is really Heavy and Extreme.

  • HA ALLAH THIS IS SO BEAUTIFUL. YA RAB YA RABI! na3am ya ragel!!!!!!!

  • The best.... the immortal queen!

great talent is timeless and will rise above all

  • To lizzie55love: No one forces you to listen or like Om Kulthoum. No one goes around leaving negative comments about Halim whom you love. It is like religions, you cant point your finger at mine and tell me mine is better. In other words, keep it to yourself and enjoy life but do not force your opinion down my throat.

  • To lizzie55love:

You need to stop going around just to leave negative comments on Om Kolthoums songs. People that love Om Kolthoum, they love her with a very strong passion. It is very insulting to them when others leave negative comments about her.

  • Tu es la meilleur et tu le resteras toujours From Paris

  • set l habayb

  • Superb, great voice. Ageless. From Sydney

  • Maîtrise des modes, Diction sans faille, Improvisation sans limite ....La diva est tout simplement immortelle.

  • uskut ya hmar!

  • You are weird. You are so possessed with hating Om Koulthoum to the point where you have posted many negative comments on many of Om Kolthoums songs. Please take binsbais advise as it may help you.

You need to have imagination in order to like Om Kolthoum. I do not see any one who likes OM Koulthoum going around and leaving negative comments about Abdel-Halim as you are doing about Om Kolthoum. Remember, art is a matter of taste.

  • .lizzie55love....HI U DOIN BRO.....I THINK U SHOULD GIVE YOUR SELF MORE TIME TO LISTEN TO UMKULTHOUM...SHEZ NOT JUST THE FIRST PAYRAMID OF EGYPT OR OF THE ARAB ART AND SONGS...BUT SHEZ A PAYRAMID TO HUMANITY AND LUV....SHE REPRESENTS A CULTURE THAT SHALL FOR EVER.....GOD BLESS U BRO...TAKE CARE OF YOUR SELF...

  • Unique !!! This great woman could sing like no one else ... and everytime I listen to her I feel she sings for me ... as if she knows me personally Amazing ... probably because she sings about deep feelings ....thank you

  • What a wonderful voice! This is just goes to say that music is boundariesless , irreligious, and totally blind whatever you are. Here is an Arab woman who could make a different in our turbulent world be her vocal chords and the sweet lyrics.

Even thou I can hardly understand a word in Arabic she is part of us all.

    Cheers

  • حطيت على القلب ايدي

  • YA RAb! Alla yerhemha :) Fan of her from Turkia :) One ıs Umm KUlthum The Other Is FAırouz :)

  • this is amazin, I am a big fan of her from Turkey. Mostly I do not understand the lyrics, but what an enchanting and burning voice is this. There are only two divas of whole middle east. One is obviously Umm Kulthum; the other one although is not well known like the former, but one of the most talented: Hamiyet Yuceses...The rest of female voices, hmmm I am sorry:)
