Generally, when it doesn't have too many frills, changes of tempi and isn't overly expressive people say that the interpretation is masculine. "Handsome" I suppose means that it sounds good.
This piece in particular is very difficult to play. I've tried it myself. I could get through the first part, but admit got quite lost when doing the hands crossover. You need a great deal of anticipation, thinking quite far ahead of the game on this one. And yes, his playing is quite incredible. He must be one of the best Scarlatti players in the business.
This is some of the best Scarlatti I've heard played on the piano. To many pianists deend on the virituoso show-off element in Scarlatti. This playing has the necessary shading and contrast expected from the Baroque composers. I just wish we could have also the sonata Scarlatti wrote as the pair to this one. K. 97
Fantastic! Too bad the mic was so far and we cannot appreciate all the details of the colouring.. All the ingredients for playnig Scarlatti are there: technique, touch, elegance, beautiful trills... Maybe I wish the rythm were not kept so rigourously, in order to achieve a bit more "sense of humor" (but this is just a personal observation).
We'd all like to hear you play this someday on stage! Yeah, right. All you people can do is criticize. He's awesome! I play piano and I know how difficult it can be; especially, in front of an audience. OMG!
very very good !!!

In mes 11-16, are all the notes in the right hand trilled, or is it just the D?
