Finnish taxes went mostly to Sweden`s use and finns couldn`t get properly educated just because they spoke finnish instead of swedish. The hakkapeliittas were only common soldiers taken from their homes by force, and very few of them survived the war. @JarnsidaViking Finland was only a safeguard between Sweden and Russia during those 700 years, and neither swedes or russians gave a shit about it. Finnish taxes went mostly to Sweden`s use and finns couldn`t get properly educated just because they spoke finnish instead of swedish. I personally have nothing against Sweden but I like living in independent Finland.

Like our Finnish forefathers fought for our freedom/independence and for our own language and everything, so I don't think we should throw that away. The border was moving back and forth during in Swedish empire. Look at the video: Change of finnish border, for information. Only a tiny slice of Western Finland was somewhat under Sweden. There were Finns on either side. For example the 1809 attacking plan was made by Yrjö Maunu. Russians painted portraits of Finns as gratitude for our services. Those portraits are in President palace.

The significance of Finns in fighting against Russia is that Russians were psychologically intimidated. They were killed in masses and they froze when they came here. After being humiliated by Finns Russians didn´t want to attack here anymore. That prevented their intentions of expanding into the West and thus helped Swedes and Norwegians too.

All in all 27% of Finns have Uralic genes mixed with European genes. The rest is European. The difference between Finns and Baltic people like Latvians and Lithuanians is that their European genes are mostly Slavic while the European genes of Finns are mostly Germanic, like I1. That´s why Finns look and are different from Baltic people and, in my opinion, that´s why Finland as a state is completely different from their states.

When all this information is put together, facts are: Finns descend from Uralic people who came here 4000 years ago and mixed with Europeans AND early Germanic people who came here 2000 years ago. Uralic men mixed extensively with European women, which caused the Asian genes to vanish from the mtDNA of Finns. The Germanic population form the ancestors of most West and South Finns. They are mostly Germanic/European.

Note the word "mixed". All Finns have European genes in their mtDNA, which makes those about 50% of Finnish males, who have Uralic haplogroup, hybrids.

Richard Kittles´s research, Dual origins of Finns: "Our results argue
against the single-origin model. Specifically, we find
evidence that the initial group of settlers provided a substantial
contribution (55%) to the present Finnish Y
chromosome gene pool. These settlers were of Asian ancestry
and were followed by a second, genetically distinct
wave of settlers."

They are part of the Nordic countries!

New studies found out that Homo neanderthalensis have genes similar to whites. Neanderthals have features similar to Caucasians such as deep eyes, high forehead, larger brain, a big nose, big eyes, and colored hair etc. The area where Neanderthal bones were found exactly match to the old area where Caucasian lived in Europe. This distinguish white from homosapians which were a negro specie.
