the guitar came from the guittern which was a violin, so you could just say play a violin, what makes a guitar real and a Melodica and a keytar fake? just cause one uses air and the other electricity doesn't make them fake, the guitar is a over popularized intrament that honestly isn't that great or allow that much variation.

I agree with you all the way till you say guitar is overrated... It is used in almost all music nowadays because it is as versatile as it is..

Jazz, blues, Reggae, folk, all the rock genres, all the metal genres, a lot of pop music too, even appears in the more classical music too.

Mention a successful band of just 3 different genres, that doesn't use guitar...
