I think this must be the most awesome tribute video I've ever seen.
Alec is such an amazing talent on youtube. The cutest and most adorable man with an enormous heart. Such a dear, dear friend. Always makes time for everyone by leaving a word of kindness, encouragement and support.
We love you Alec!
For the beautiful music you share AND for the beautiful man you are inside and out.
The lyrics witness that you know very well Alec's channel and I didn't spot a single inexactness. Thank you for your best wishes.. from Bologna to Tokyo... million visits... haha.. too kind.
It's nice seeing here so many friends sharing the joy, like giant but dear tubers Lisa&Pops. Loris must see this. And now you're for sure one of our best friends.
PS I got all your messages, sorry for not commenting before, but yesterday I was busy with various non-internet things.
I'm very, but positively, surprised! Alec is a dear friend to mine so I'm very happy for him. And many thanx for putting also me in the tribute and description.
You must have done a massive work in terms of downloading, cutting, rewriting lyrics and singing (nice voice, by the way, I didn't know you're a woman).
Seeing the best of all his videos makes me want to see them all again. Your video will help him (and me and Dan) to get more exposure.
Did you notice how I substituted the original 'Oh baby!' with 'and Urbania'! LOLOL! Sounds so similar.
Really, the video is not much work compared to the song. You can't get stuck with a video! But the lyrics don't always come when they should. And I'm not patient at that.
He almost always writes first music then lyrics, cause music is easy and lyrics difficult. Of course APP lyrics are wonderful, they have different possible interpretation, he does it on purpose, but that requests a lot of job. Just a couple of days ago on his Facebook page he announced that the basic tracks of his next album are completed, and he now begins the lyrics.
Wow, I'm so not up-to-date about his & Alan's latest work!
Funny he says 'music is easy, lyrics are hard'. I realize that music should come before lyrics. But I've never been able to come up with a catchy or sophisticated melody, THAT would be hard for me. And hearing this about Eric Woolfson, a genius song writer, is shocking. APP melodies are so intricate, layered, intelligent, logical (you see I lack proper terminology)...and he considers melodies EASY!?
I must add.. nominally all APP works are credited Woolfson/Parsons, but in practice Eric is the author of the majority of the songs, while Alan is the author of the majority of the instrumentals. There are of course exceptions, and both contributed on the production side.
McCartney's Yesterday is another example of song born without lyrics.
Generally in music I find quite interesting the process of songwriting.. sometimes one begins with music, others with lyrics, others together.
PS Latest EW album is "EW sings the APP that never was", the 1st of a series of albums in which he completes abandoned APP songs. You find the link to the official APP website on my channel homepage.
I loooove rewriting lyrics & singing them, LOL!! I wish so badly I could make my own music (instrumentals)...that must be the ultimate drug when what I do is already so much fun! (which makes me wonder why many musicians do drugs when they have their music..)
By the way, thanks to Pops and Lisa for the nice comment ! ^_^ I'd like to say that when I had just a couple of video on YT, Loris from France (nickname joliroi) posted a beautiful cover of a song of mine (There's A Man In Cambridge). As I had just a couple of video uploaded that was the fullest tribite he could make at the time ^_^ Of couse C.P.C.'s one is more complete and profound !
Definitely, I enjoyed this tribute to my friend AleC more than my words can say!!!
Those lyrics are so proper...
"We wanna know, when will he tour with the Alec Cospite Project" is something that all of us, the friends that have been knowing AleC for years, wonder *daily*!!!
"Hey, talent scouts, grab him while you can" is another one of the same kind!
Thank you for graceously putting me there, it's a honour!
I ... I don't know what to say :-))) THANK YOU !!! It's a beautiful gift for me, expecially the words you have chosen, your messages. You're so so kind !! And I liked it musically and for the video montage ! THANKS A LOT :-) Alec ^_^
I want to credit JLSPMA for the idea to collaborate on a tribute for you. Then I got selfish and decided to do the whole thing myself...because most work (IMO) goes into the song, which was my job anyway.
Thank you Alec, that is so nice of you to say. :) I know I don't have a strong voice (I don't want to check out singers' videos because they're usually à la Mariah Carey & I wouldn't even WANT to sound like that), but I'm fine with that.
I read on answer above that you wanted to collaborate to it too, so thanks to you too José ! PS: I admit I didn't know the Bee Gees song .. well now I do ^_^
I agree with lisa
this is a great great cover
and I am the first french fan of alec :-)

Yes, I noticed the "Urbania" words. I must admit i didn't know the original song.
Lyrics: yes it's a long job writing them. Eric always says that! :-)

ERIC said that? Oh, I get all fuzzy reading this!! :-)

I woke up with a smile, too, for this reason, and to 27 comments & replies (incl. from your vids :))!
Frankly, you deserve your own tribute. I'm sure someday somebody will make one.
