  • @1pupblacky lrn2 revolution

  • THIS AWESUM AND BRINGS BACK ALOT OF GREAT MEMORIES!

  • I guess this song is applicable to all of us who loved music , the PINK FLOYED , no one can dare come near , what a magic ...

  • this song is written by a genius. i don't feel like looking up the specifics because i am buzzed tonight. i remember listening to this song in the 80's. look at the bombs and submarines. why can't we all just get get along. why don't we just get out of other countries business. then we could take care of our own. for the time that this song was written 9/11 never happened. a visionary. why can't we live in peace?

  • wtf!!! how could 50 people dislike this song

  • @knowtimeleft Cuz sum ppl dont know great music wen they hear it...........I feel sorry for them!!!

  • un clip parfait redoutablement parfait

  • Great music and High explosives that'll do for me : )

  • You are all stupid you know! None of those mentioned would even want to go to heaven, they would just get bored! :p

  • Younger people may not recognize it, but the machine being manipulated in the opening scenes of this video is a voting machine. Pulling the lever one way closed the curtain, allowing a secret vote. One then indicated one's voting preference by manipulating individual levers (also seen in the video), then pulled back the curtain by pulling the (large) lever in the opposite direction. Ironic that a voting machine, which allows people to influence their gov't., should be used for such a song.

  • @FN308 At the end they show the United Nations. The voting booths throughout the clip may symbolize the power member nations have w/their votes. Many conflicts happening around the world r approved by the UN. They were just debating the Israeli/Palestinian 2 state solution which if denied will surely incite more bombings than seen here(regardless of any opinion on the topic). It speaks less2the power of an individual& more2the collective power of the leaders of the "free word." Just a thought :)

  • @mamamax212

<< It speaks less2the power of an individual& more2the collective power of the leaders of the "free word." Just a thought :) "

    Unfortunately, you may be right.

  • @FN308

I don't think it's ironic at all, politicians manipulate people to vote for them, telling them how to think in the process, and they make people believe that they protect them by killing people in wars. That explains the video, voting and war machines.

  • @FN308 every day peoples votes dont count any ways. and the goverment is a machine that has got our country into so much debt.

  • @FN308 Yes but nobody really knows where those votes really go. For all we know the numbers we see on the TV screen the night of an election could be made up.

  • I can only toss buckets of love, that's what I got left inside of me...

  • pink floyd knows about the transhumanist agenda. WELCOME TO THE MACHINE

  • @bluefly28

    Nailed it :)

  • One of the most beautiful Floyds and Richard Wright masterpieces!!

  • I am atheist, but it makes no difference; this is without doubt good music, so stop arguing...

  • @TheFinlandnator i too am a atheist--but i have mixed feelings about religious peoples. they do some good for poor people--but almost every war in the world was caused by religion. i am not a believer-but there is a little book called the bible that scares people out of reality. i personally like dantes inferno. read it.

  • @1pupblacky religion has never caused any war. religion was used as the excuse to cause wars that were actually caused by people who wanted more money, more power, more land, and/or more control over the rest of the world. BIG difference.

And the fact that they use religion as the excuse is just to make you look at it as if religion was a problem and to start debates on religion so you can take your eyes off the REAL problem.

  • @ivona454 i am not going to even look at your profile. if you don't think religion is a problem--why did the PILGRAMS arrive in AMERICA. freedom of choice. of course the rich have more control--that is because the poor let them. how many poor people can run for president? they need millions of dollars in contributions. we need another andrew jackson -- thomas jefferson would be nice--but he had a big estate with a lot of slaves--but that was ok back then. separation of church and state.

  • @1pupblacky again, religion is not the problem. mixing it with politics, thats another thing, and that what i was trying to explain. religion is something personal and it shouldnt be involved with politics. what im saying is throughout the years of what we have known as human civilization politicians have used religion as an excuse to start conflicts.

  • the fact that a person believes in God (whatever they call that God) is no problem. and you should know that all religions are peaceful and promote everything BUT war. politicians use provocation and manipulation to start wars. just TRY naming ONE war that was caused by religion. youll see, if you DO know history, you wont be able to find one.

  • @ivona454 The problem is that groups of people need targets, religion is often the opposite of atheism and so offers a perfect opportunity for their group (atheists). Both groups will fight bitterly until the end of time, no one will ever win because the human brain is wired to win no matter what it takes, not for accuracy as either side would have you believe. Confirmation bias really makes arguing almost pointless, humans are egotistic and only accept beliefs that indulge themselves.

  • @ivona454 So you are saying that it was ok for past popes to talk about a new world order? That to me is more or less corruption of politics that has bled into religion. Also the new world order does most definitely have to do with politics just in case you weren't sure of it.

  • 50 dislikes !!!!!!!!!

  • @robertaaronperry ,

sorry you feel that way, god is the savior.

  • @eddiejstill if you think it's so gay, why waste your time looking it up and commenting, clearly nobody cares about your decision. that's just absurd

  • @eddiejstill go listen to the music you like and stop looking up music you dont like jsut to post comments that no1 wants to hear

  • LIFE........AS WE KNOW IT!! :0)

  • Some of the first and best electronic music came from PF.

  • actually lsd is the only drug considered to cause genetic disorder,so that next generations can have problems too...

  • @TheKillingword

Nope. Pure propaganda fed to you from by the war drugs machine. LSD does not cause genetic problems, won't stay in your spinal fluid forever. It can lead to psychological problems for those with underlying problems.

  • @jsbartoszek trust me,i've reasons to make this statement,it's true!

  • @jsbartoszek and those who do way too much of it and I dont mean those who do it on a frequent basis I mean those that if everyones takin 1-3 hits at a party you're the guy who takes 6 hits thats just way too much acid thats just overdoing shit, especially now since acid isn't as good as the shit you got in the 60's through the 70's and a very small part of the 80's.

  • @jsbartoszek trust me,i've reasons to make this statement,it's true!"

  • @jsbartoszek at least someone knows what they are talking about...

  • @TheKillingword

I've never read that from a legitimate scientific source. There were gov't.-sponsored studies performed decades ago that were used to support such a belief but, if you read the original studies, LSD was demonstrated to break somatic, not genetic, chromosomes. And, IIRC, this was on a par with breakage done by ASA and other commonly-used drugs as well.

  • lsd is one of the safest drugs? and what happened to Syd?

  • @Jophilli syd basically overdosed on acid and went crazy idk about he whole safe thing im not sure how it is but im sure theres a lot of stuff out there that can be worse but im not sure

  • @Jophilli you are stupid... stop assuming before doing research, yes it is one of the safest he went crazy because of HIS OWN MIND mind and logic, its not the drug stop blaming your problems on other things and not yourself. thats the problem with our world today no consciousness

  • @clearpancho

I'm pretty sure you are the one doing the assuming here. How did a comment about Syd turn into a comment about "me blaming drugs for MY problems"? are you retarded sir? Do you make every topic about some tangent you feel like running on about?

  • @Jophilli i thought you were being a smart ass by saying syd went crazy because of LSD, i read your comment wrong i guess.

  • for me the machine represents society

  • for me the machine represents society

  • This song is supposed to be about how Pink Floyd thinks the music industry is nothing more than a money making machine rather than a form of artistic expression. They were right. People only care about money these days.

  • 49 people need to unplug from the machine !

  • My Band!!! Saw them live since I was 15......yes, i'm over 50......and still play this music daily/weekly.....best band EVER! Just make everyone you know aware of this fabulous music - always!

  • The reason why this song is so fucking great is because they where fucking lit on acid. Wish i lived in the 70's because id also be lit on acid with them.

  • @lljoltll Yeah, all the good drugs are gone, now we only have pot and that's hardly a drug.

  • @lljoltll its actually a little known fact that they were rarely ever on acid when they were writing because of what happened to syd barret they rarely ever were on it

  • @SRVisGOD1 they are just saying that , they were on it all the time back then, think a lil

  • @clearpancho ya they were rarely ever on it back then too they were all big drinkers but none did acid while writing they knew what they were doing the whole time, you may need to think a lil

  • @SRVisGOD1 ha you are very very closed minded i dont need anyone to tell me what to think

  • @SRVisGOD1 and what are you talking about know what they are doing? LSD is one of the safest drugs on record besides cannabis .

  • @clearpancho people were definatley making it sound like they didnt know what they were doing and when you listen to floyd one of the first thing people think is wow these guys are stoned out of there minds but it sounds great and how a i closed minded?

  • @clearpancho and what are you talking about you're no better than me by saying you don't need to tell anyone to tell you what to think when you commented back saying that i need to think

  • @SRVisGOD1 you are right, i was just disagreeing with your opinion while thinking mine was right, different process of thinking my friend i am sorry i just believe in my opinion strongly in the expansion of their minds came from lsd thinking logic which reflects in their music. but i suppose i could be entirely off

  • @clearpancho im not saying your entirely off dude im just trying to say that they didn't do as many drugs as people thought they did

  • @MegaDethFan1994 I dont wanna be in the machine.

"Welcome my son, welcome to the machine.

    What did you dream?

It's alright we told you what to dream."

Sounds like the lyric is about machine as in "controlled soceity".

  • @YTisMyPlaylist I read somewhere that the machine is actually a metaphor for the music industry. The song is about a newbie musician being controlled by the record label etc. The record label controls everything the artist/band does. "we told you what to dream" = we told you what music/lyrics to write.

  • @AlCzervix I had an idea it was along the lines of that myself, I knew the machine represented some form of industry. However that line analysis is very accurate

  • If there is such a place as rock and roll heaven you know they got a helluva band. Except there are only TWO dead guys from Pink Floyd so we gotta wait for that one......

  • esta rola es para un tatto... ya en espera..

  • deep meaning in this song for sure.

  • I went to see the wall not to long ago in anahiem, CA

this was my first concert and believe me roger's performance is AWSOME!!!

And i'm 14 years old and i think Roger is the best

  • @EatitHarvey I C what you did there

  • 49 ppl should be in a pipeline filling in time :/

  • 49 people support the RIAA demanding people for millions of dollars for downloading three songs which you can watch in youtube for free.

  • i love this song but it makes me nervous and uncomfortable... i don't know why?

  • @NeonAngel1997 holy shit i feel the same way. i always listin to during a trippy high experiance. but on that note i probally shouldnt smoke pot

  • i'd like to know why in the "Related videos" column theres lady gaga?!?!?!?

  • @abrunke there trying to corrupt our minds with crappy music and people that have to much money aka music now days.

  • the song's amazing but it seems out of place on the wish you were here album

  • @MrDmoney9295

you are absolutely wrong dude-the whole 13-"shine on you crazy diamond"-minutes are preparing you for this song.

Without being prepared by the crazy diamond most of the people wouldn"t be able to listen and recognize the quality of this song cause it"s to strong and to strange in a very special way-too mental.

  • @yoogoh i meant more along the lines of the lyrics seem out of place because it doesn't really deal with isolation and losing a friend it deals more with people living in a matrix-like world where we live like machines but the shine on you crazy diamond did help the transition to have a cigar

  • @MrDmoney9295

    it"s a link between "shine on"(the lost star)-you"ve dreamt of a big star,who played the mean guitar-to "have cigar"-you gonna go far,fly high,never die.

this is not much about isolation,it"s about syd and critic to the music industrie.

1st)welcome ttm-they teach boy to admire stars

    2nd)cigar-the boy becomes a star

    3rd)shine-the star went crazy

    4th)wywh-they wish him back

wywh is a critic to the music industrie and PF themselve being part of the system(by t way, which 1s pink?)

  • @yoogoh isolation was the wrong word more like missing someone because shine on you crazy diamond seemed like remembering the person's life have a cigar was like remembering when they got in the music business and how people thought they were called pink floyd because someone's name was pink and wish you were here was simply wishing they were here with them or that's what i got anyway music is open to different meanings like that

  • listen to this song whilst tripping

  • I always thought this song was dedicated to Barrett, not to world leaders :/

  • Explosions and pink floyd work so well together!! love this song

  • Love.

  • 48 people are not welcome

  • Incredible.

  • Incredible.

  • Is it bad I actually see faces in the smoke?

  • What album is this on????

  • @megadethfan1723 Wish you were here

  • @NASOS4 thank u

  • Heaven will be a beautiful place because there will be Pink Floyd, Queen, Jimmy Hendrix, Bob Marley and John Lennon.

  • Comment removed

  • @awl555 so saying listing to pink floyd or zepplin will put you in hell? wtf? im a firm believer in making the right decisions from the heart. knowing whats wrong and right. but musically speaking i dont think anyone will go to hell for what they listin to it just matters weather or not what the song implies to the individual listing to it.

  • @lilphantomkilla *facepalm* In no way did I imply that you or anyone is going to hell for listening to music. Hell, I don't even believe in any of that bullshit. All I'm saying is that if you expect any of the artists MrSzk96 mentioned to be behind the pearly gates if and when you get there, not to count on it. However, considering your one upload on how to toke a bubbler like a right bitch, and your sorry-ass grammar ("listing"? really?!), you might have just been high when you wrote this.

  • @awl555 i smoke pot til i die. calling me a bitch or anything is complete ignorance. Live the right way being happy and spreading happiness in everyway possible. goodnite

  • @MrSzk96 I think you got your afterlives mixed up, little man. If there is a heaven and hell, you can bet your ass that all these guys are gettin' high and rockin' out in Satan's nonstop sex orgy of the damned! God, I love being irreverent.

  • @MrSzk96

funny how you listen to PF....but belive in god and heaven..........

  • @MrSzk96 AND Led Zeppelin I hope. I mean they DID build the stairway to get there 0_0

  • @DaOneWhoRulz not after jimmy, robert, and john bonham stuck a red snapper fish in a chicks ass.... JP might be there tho LOL

  • @DaOneWhoRulz @.@ that will be epicly beautiful. Meanwhile, the devil gets to suffer with Lady Gaga, Justin Beiber, and Miley Cyrus....

  • @DaOneWhoRulz @.@ It will be epicly beautiful. Meanwhile, the devil gets to suffer with Lady Gaga, Miley Cyrus, and Justin Beiber.

  • @MrSzk96 but be good, you don't want to go down to Justin Bieber, Ke$ha, and Bruno Mars.

  • @MrSzk96 not real dawg

  • @ff9alexander Not real, for you.

  • @MrSzk96 John Lennon wrote the lyrics "imagine there's no heaven" so if he is no in heaven it will sure be a surprise for him.

  • @MrSzk96 bob marley and john lennon do not belong in the same sentence as the other bands there.

  • @MrSzk96 John Lennon...really?? John Lennon. Hmmm...let's see...oh that's right..."Imagine there's NO HEAVEN, it's easy if you try, no hell below us, above us only sky..." If John Lennon ends up in Heaven, I think it will be the biggest surprise he ever got. C'mon...think a little....

  • Comment removed

  • @MrSzk96 this meeteing would be more probably to happen in hell XD and kurt cobain, janis joplin & jim morrison would be there too : D

  • @imlenin I'd say more like in rock and roll Heaven.

  • @MrSzk96 Very true. And you gotta add Jim Morrison in there :)

  • E Syd Barrett???Dove lo mettiamo??Il successo lo devono soprattutto a lui.Forever and ever

  • @MrSzk96 ahha Joke John Lennon did not believe in religion so if you don't believe in god you don't make it to heaven good try though. hell he even said they were better than Jesus Christ. Btw its Jimi and he was always fried on Acid and other Drugs; He OD'd on drugs doubt he'll be there. Mmmm Idk about Bob Marley Good luck with that.

  • @RobertAaronPerry There's a difference between "better" and "bigger". Get your facts right before correcting and criticizing people.

Also, it's not all about Christianity. It's not because, according to the bible and Christianity, you can't go to even if you don't believe in a deity that it will actually happen. Jimi had a message for peace and love, so did Joplin.

Ps : Inb4 comments on my religious view, I do not believe in anything, nor do I see a use for it.

  • @RobertAaronPerry man you know how much time you wasted writing that paragraph

  • i listened to this song a lot after trying acid; it was comforting

  • good coreographing or whatever for video to coincide w the music.very cool

  • hey awesome video for this song

  • Everyone always thinks Rogers work is about Syd or "the machine" gov't and war and all that but it isn't. It is about alienation. Not neccessarily the alienation of the individual to society though this is certainly a part of it but more just the alienation we all feel generally in the modern world. The fundamental chaos of too much noise and too many choices. The lonliness that is always there.......regardless. I think Roger feels all of this immensely as a person of his intelligence would.

  • @kentucy9999 somebody being "intelligent" doesn't necessarily mean that they would be in touch with what you just said.

a lot of intelligent people would embrace it.

that's where perspective and life experience comes in. intelligence is nothing without them.

  • @badintentions2 Obviously.

  • @kentucy9999 so don't assume intelligence covers all bases ;)

  • @badintentions2 Dude. Why do you feel you have to go on a message board and lecture someone? I'll make my assertions and you make your assertions. Grow up.

  • @kentucy9999 no-one's implying you shouldn't make your assertions.

stop taking things so much to heart.

part of the appeal of posting is so people can give their opinions - and learn from others.

  • where have you been... its alright we know where you'll be.

  • i love trippin to this song : )

  • 48 people have no soul and don't know the truth of the false reality around them created by the machine known as media, government, and big brother.

  • @joere444 where are you from. im from chicago and i honestly need to know other people feel the same

  • @joere444 dont take it so seriously. people just need to identify with something passionately in their life to really 'find themselves'.

anyone who thinks that being successful has anything to do with materialism is going to live in a bubble for a long, long time.

  • @badintentions2 although i don't disagree 100% with your thesis, i must say that success actually has a lot to do with materialism.

you know why? because we human beings are material, physically considered, and we need "material" to survive - food, water, fire wood and some clothes, just to mention a few ones. many people don't have enough of these primitive needs, and as long as they aren't satisfied, success in any way is kind of impossible in the world we live in.

  • @hjoermungand you're right about the necessities of course, but i was mainly condemning the added importance we put on hoarding material wealth and the way we treat people differently if they stand as an example of 'success' purely because they have a lot of money..and also how easily we overlook poverty simply because it is out of sight, out of mind.

as much as it's a crime that people are allowed to starve across the world, it's equally a crime to surround ourselves with unnecessary luxuries

  • jag-uar!

  • I like to see slow motion explosions :P

Specially the one that got throught the earth before exploding on the jet :D

  • I realized my intentions from the missile at 6:02. I also liked 5:42 area. 3:11 is like a firework, or ufo going through a night sky.
