He himself contradicted this, though, and he never had much to say about marriage and sex. I imagine he didn't think that they were all that important, but that's just conjecture.
Actually, there are many anti-Christian gay groups, and killing a gay and justifying it on the basis of religious beliefs is considered a hate crime in many places but:
1) People can choose to be part of a religion or not.
2) Not all of the Bible is concerned with issues of sexuality.
3) Different Christian groups give varying degrees of importance to various issues, including sex.

My contribution: There have been studies that suggest that homosexuality developed in early humans (as well as other animals) to keep competition for mates lower. Actually, there are many anti-Christian gay groups, and killing a gay and justifying it on the basis of religious beliefs is considered a hate crime in many places but:
1) People can choose to be part of a religion or not.
2) Not all of the Bible is concerned with issues of sexuality.
3) Different Christian groups give varying degrees of importance to various issues, including sex.

@70Mack b) not being able to breed "naturally" doesn't stop gays from having kids artificially, or from previous straight relationships or adopting in some places and the kids turn out no worse than straight people's kids. So to sum it up, I suppose you could say being gay is a kind of defect in some way (I'll even admit to that), but with some change in society's attitudes, this "defect" should be no more serious or no more of a disability than having to wear eyeglasses, or being lefthanded...
