  • Wow, I didn't realize that stupid people knew about TED videos.

  • YAY trailers!!!

  • I manage a bunch of DJs where can I get one of those!!! That's fantastic

  • hehee

  • it's like something out of star trek. nice. (the prototype)

  • mmmmmmmmmmm salvia

  • doing drugs as an escape offers no cultural enrichment, provides you with no education of the world around you and does not substitute a real experience/adventure.

While I'm sure it makes you feel real nice, and is real cheap to do it in no way is the same as traveling the world and experiencing new things. It's just not the way our brains are wired.

  • Yes, it offers nothing other than fun and escape from daily life and problems. But there is something special about psychedelics. An escape sure gives you cultural enrichment and education of the world around us, but psychedelics is not a trip away from home. Psychedelics is a trip deep, deep into our mind, and sometimes our self. You might learn things about you're self that the super ego have been keeping you from knowing. Things that you can change for the better.

  • Well if you are going to bastardize a classic this is how you do it. Come on man! They give you a blank check and you put turn tables in it? Gawd no wonder the Japanese hate us.

  • needs better speaker and ideas itself arent that innovative

    2 stars

  • ive been moanin about caravans for years they all look like even your nan would be a little offended and you cant deny that if you were drunk and fell over in one you could wipe out the cupboards, the shower and that stupid table that doubles up as a bed in just one fall 'darling when you finished your dinner why dont you litterally make the bed out of the table' thats not a holiday thats punishment for living in britain and being british it seems the americans are at it too i sympathize dudes

  • Whaa... No sponser?

  • poop plop pooper brain

  • interesting...although if I want to draw a younger generation...I would probably add more technology and colors...but I guess the budget was limited and it was a good case to show the power to design and innovation.

  • *cough* why is this inferior not talking about quantum physics or something intelligent, like me, he could talk about how good i am. because i'm the shit

  • This comment you left. It is funny.

But unfortunately... your not. Just thought I would make sure you knew this. :)

  • no shit sherlock. at least i don't go on like i am.

  • So you admit your level of sucktasticness?

also are those your stop animations? Because they are rather entertaining.

  • Well i'm glad you found it/them entertaining. i was bored one day with my camera so i tried it out. what do you do when you're not commenting on peoples comments on youtube?

  • Nerdy stuff. I'm an electrical engineering student in Texas.

Mostly building little electronics projects, writing programs. Why? you?

  • Cool. I'm a Design for sustainability student in Cornwall, England.

  • Oh, that actually turned out sort of cute. Endearing little trailer a the end. The DJ trailer was actually a neat concept.

  • Worst idea ever.. just saying.

  • I agree, it will be hard to find a rich enough idiot to waste money on a mini DJ camper. Maybe they built it for Eminem.

  • I want one...........

  • most boring ted talk ever

  • Real escapists use cheap motels and tents.

A trailer will always seen as a ball and chain to real adventurers. No matter what you do wit it, you will always dragging that bit of possession behind you wherever you go.

  • "Real escapists" - what a snob you must be. People who use trailers probably save a lot of money that way. "No matter what you do wit it, you will always be dragging that bit of possession behind you wherever you go." - unless you leave it in the campground and take the vehicle you pulled it with out for adventure.

"Real escapists" - I just can't get over that, what snobbery.

  • Never said I was an escapist. It was mr Christopher who kept going on about the escapism of a trailer. Which is just ridiculous.

  • what about the ppl who use them as a primary dwelling, on desolate scraps of tax-auctioned desert, where the trailers let them avoid tax assessments for "improving" the land?

  • Sure you could use them for other purposes, just don't call it escapism then. The concept of a camper completely defies the idea of leaving everything behind.

  • Escapism does not necessarily involve leaving everything behind. It is merely a way to divert the mind from the unpleasant aspects of daily life. In what way that is achieved, will differ from person to person.

Unless of course, you use the word "escapist" as another label (like anarchist, or hipster) to attract attention/differentiate yourself. Whatever floats your boat.

  • Yeah, I understand, let's not get into semantics here.

I just find the idea of dragging your own house behind you while escaping conflicting.

  • Oh yeah, totally. Lets just use words to mean whatever the hell we want, so we can never be wrong.

  • you obviously don't know the history of caravans

  • Okay, now I have to respond to your way of thinking here and point out that it's simply 'your way of thinking'. If your idea of escaping is to avoid a bed, a stove, a chair and table, or a refrigerator, then yea, a trailer is not your idea of escape. But for the rest of us, who like to vacation on a budget and still eat healthy meals and sleep in a familiar bed, we think a trailer, or in my case, a camping-car is just bitchin'. I'll think of you when I 'escape' in comfort to Rome next month.

  • You are? Jeez, coincidentally I'll be in Rome around that time.

I think the biggest problem here is that people are thinking I condone one or another. There's absolutely no right way to travel and they can all be equally enjoyable. It's just the definition here that is so ironic?

  • I'll keep an eye out for a guy with a tent on his back;)

  • Maybe if you're a gypsy and it's your only home, but for the rest of us it's an economical escape in comfort.

  • Getting the first post is probably the most cool thing you can possibly do on the webosphere. Don't hate on the OCD subscription checkers!

  • Title is WRONG

  • lol... why does getting the first post matter...

    *shakes head and sighs*

anyways... Great video, I absolutely love it when ted brings on designers, I always feel inspired by them.

  • cool
