  • wow i love Gilan

  • what is this music called, rashti music?

  • weeeeeeeeeeeeee3

  • payandeh iran ...

  • Lovely....ever last folk music.....zendeh baad GILAN

  • @lllhelilll I will look up Gilaki, I know Farsi is a the ligua franca in those areas I think and most of middle eastern world.

  • Thank you first off for being willing to answer my questions. So in the old days did they have to harvest wheat at night? The lit oil container must be very heavy and I did not think of that and the balance required. That is neat. I like this dance and the people are very interesting to me. This is an old people I can tell by the shape of their heads. That is a nice story about the harvest. I thought it was about how they love their land and the harvest. It would help boredom.Gilaki?

  • Very interesting, what is the signifigance of the oil or liquid on top of the older ladys head? What are the words to the song? Why are they harvesting and what is the grain? Is this a harvest song?

  • @SylvianRues : the brass hand oil lamp is just a tradition, you know back in old days in the area they didn't have electricity so they used to go to wheat field with this on of their head, and the second reason of putting that on top of the head, you know handling it on top of the head is not an easy job :D so it shows she is a professional dancer, and the lyrics is not Farsi it is Gilaki which is hard to undrestand for me as a Farsi speaking Iranian ( Part ONE)

  • @lllhelilll and the song he is singing is like about a girl that he is missing him and can't stand being without her , it is their tradition when the right season comes they go for harvesting they dance and all that so they won't get bored u know.... i hope i answered what you asked :) ..( Part Two)

  • great balance on that old lady lol. her dance reminds me of those tribal african folk dances. i think human cultures are more similar than people realize, but we are too busy focusing on our differences, than our similarities.

  • @xgotfiveonitx

Yes, absolutely. That's also the first thing that came to my mind.a dance with the nature spirits..the life force that emanates from that part of the planet makes the human move to its tune. and yes, humans mostly don't see the similarities and the connections of all to all; maybe because the identity-ego doesn't leave much space in people to look and see the essence of something rather than MY this and MY that kind of possession of it all. which is the illusion of the ego..

  • bahhhhhhhhhhhhh bahhhhhhhhhhhhh

  • @abcdfg2010 WooW. sounds good. Do you understand what he's singing. Some ones asked me about this lyric, but unfortunately I don't know :))

  • Why are people so stupid. This is beautiful art, yet there are so many hate filled comments on here, who cares where music originates - music is a universal language and should help us rise above petty nationalism. Why not celebrate life and art - and leave the war and the fighting and arguing behind?

  • @trifelgeputinage Yeah!!! I agree you more than 100%. Appreciate it. You right.

  • @roozi111 Hey, appreciate your reply! Subbed!

  • @trifelgeputinage You're more than welcome

  • hello, could you give me the lyrics and translation of this song please???

I love it so much! but i can not understand it :) thanks!!

  • @nathalieke884 Hi. Unfortunately, I don't have any lyrics if this song and dance. Also, I don't know what language they're singing too and in fact I want but I can't send you any translation of this song. They're singing in a local accent of Iran that I don't know what it is.

Anyway, thanks for attention about that.

  • is that a bong on top of that ladies her?

  • @cameronmpear No, that's a traditional "lantern", most of that use in the village or rural, when the electric go out. Lantern is a symbol of lightly, livable and lucky in Iran or Turkey

  • muzik was kurdish and accent was much closer to kurdish krmashani accent.

  • @shwan555 ، Thanks a lot

  • خیلی زیباست دستت درد نکنه.بعضی کلماتش مثل کوردی.

  • @mardin779 خواهش می کنم و مرسی از راهنماییت

  • @bootseecat Baaaleh va affarin

  • They are part of the country so they are Persian :)!

  • @PersiaShirazCyrus I don't think so. They aren't Persian. They are Gilaki and they have their own culture.

  • @roozi111

oh yes Persians have different culturs and people aswell. in my eyes they are Persians even Afghan and Tajiks are Persians for me :D

  • @roozi111 dar irani boodane gilaniha shaki nist va hame khanewadehaye irani che fars bashand ya nabashand yek tarikhe por eftekhar darand va sarnewshteshoon beham peyvand khode

  • @roozi111 they remind me a little bit Caucasian people

  • @roozi111 Actually, the Gilaks along with the Tats, tylish, Lurs, Bakhtiaris, and Mazandaranis are considered as part of the Persian sub-group who speak Persian dialects related to Middle-Persian Pahlavi. The shah himself was from mazandaran and one of the most biggest persian/Iranian nationalists.

  • Comment removed

  • @persiandudeee you all persian kisal (persian tortoises) are sick.Gilaks, lurs, khorasani, qochani, bakhtiars, mazandarani, tylish, kurdish all are median and the population of median are more than 60,000,000, only kurdishmedian population is 40,000,000 but, persian population is less than 30,000,000.

  • @shwan555 Shut the fuck up dumbass. The shah himself who was one of the biggest persian nationalists was a Mazandarani you idiot. Gilakis, Mazandarani, Lurs, Bakhtiaris all speak a middle-Persian dialect. Fuck off with your median garbage you delusional fuckhead. Go claim the zazzas as yours too dip-shit.

  • @roozi111 Of course in every part of Iran there is different culture and they use different dialect as well, in North like shomal they use Gilak, central Iran pure Persian, southwest Persian and Arabic, east dari (broken Farsi) north west azari. But at the end of the day they're all Persian.

  • @roozi111 do u know the meaning of persian or not??

persian means : parsi , ina ham parsian

  • Comment removed

  • @PersiaShirazCyrus gilaks originally are kurdish and their accent

much closer to kurdish krmashani accent, so they are median not

    persian

  • I Love this song! But what is the story about the woman dancing. What does she have on her head? I am sure that it is a traditional folk song, but what region is this from? It looks like beautiful countryside. Tell them thank you for doing and posting this awesome video! It is Great!

  • @anita1usa Hi Anita. That's a traditional lantern in Iran. When there wasn't any electrical system, they used to turn on it for lighting in a dark place. Furthermore, she's from "Ghilan State: Rasht City" or "Mazandaran State: Sari City" but in a village of North of Iran so close to the Caspian Sea and Russia Federal.
