Guys, im a beginner here, and I was wondering, when u hit d cymbals, is it like a subsitute for the hi-hat?

so u mean let's say im playin a beat, then i go hat-hat-hat-hat then i play a crash on the new beat, so it goes hat-hat-hat-hat then crash-hat-hat-hat, is it correct?

LIke this. h=hi hat. c=crash. s=snare. b=bass drum.

you can mix up the cymbals as you want. But it gives the beat a feeling of power when you go from crash to hi hat.

theres no certain way to play drums, as long as your playing in time, unless your a freestyle drummer, then there really is no certain way to play, do what you think sounds good

its not all about the kit you can have a crap one but with good skins and tuned right it will sound as good as a decent one....

It's not about having a 'beginner' kit cant you see all the mics around the kit. I'ts been processed to peices to get it sounding that tight, if you were standing in front of that kit it would not be sounding like that.
