  • Pero que gente mas pendeja que realmente no se da cuenta que esto no es un show de Magia sino son efectos creados por la naturaleza y el posicionamiento de la tierra, ejes, rotacion y demas. Stop bitching fuckers and go read a book!!!!

  • I have no opinion on this. Looks real to me. But I wouldn't know.

  • Proudly Ecuadorean! Love Ecuador!

  • wow, reading the comments makes me worry about humankind. This is a fake show they put on for tourists.

He pours the water in the direction he wants the water to rotate. "I try to stop the water". There's the disclaimer TRY. The water isn't stopping.

The rest of the show is BS as well.

  • p.s i got my certificate for balancing the egg whoo hooo!!

  • i have actually been there and done the experiments and can say that they are all true!! people who have not been will say you are acting but it is 100% real!!!

  • Haha, what a joke.

I hope that people are at least smart enough to understand that the implied experiment only works during the spring and autumn equinox. All the other times of the year, the rotational axis of the earth is NOT orthogonal to equator plane.

And what he does after that just makes me cry at how stupid people are :(

  • @fragbitehej qpecially this one

  • esta bonito el video pero vallan a las playas para que se broncen un poco

  • That's awesome!!!!! Wish to go there soon!

  • You wanna try this, email to info@tourecuador.ec, and lives Ecuador

  • Here's a fun fact about the equator: because of the Coriolis effect, it is much easier to scam tourists at the equator.

  • @ind20000

    lol'd hard

  • Of course this is true because Cyclones cannot take effect on the equator... but sure can 6 feet away from it -___- Complete crap

  • This stuff IS real. I was there and did the same experiments. Only our guide was a 17- or 18-year old girl. She could break my grip on either side of the equator line, but not while I was standing ON the line. It was real and it was pretty cool.

  • wow that shit really works ? crazy me and a few friends been wonderin about that

  • they have clean water in Ecuador? haha

  • @backupcoolm3n yes they do

  • @Dragonchispi it was a joke! of course they do

  • simple tricks... pouring water from two different sides...

  • Shape of the plug hole.

  • This is where, equatorial west; Horus will be born not as a mortal child but as a facultary empire. Siryu the Ultimate Lord will rule over the Ultimate Kingdom from the south west. Pay attention to me world and you will learn a lot.

  • jajaja is a lie.. im from ecuador n we know the triks to get money from the tourist.. ofcurse not from the latinos jajaja

  • just a tourist attraction and lie. the corioliseffect does only work in huge systems and not in such small things. read books, watch science shows... they all say the same its not possible!

  • Read the wikipedia on coriolis effect, the whole experiment is a tourist trap and a complete hoax. The proof? Youtube the Uganda equator experiments and they make the Northern Hemisphere the clockwise one and here the Northern Hemisphere is the counterclockwise one.......

The Truth: The coriolis effect is VERY small altogether, and to see ANY effect you need to be AT LEAST 300 miles North or South of the line, and even then you need to do the experiment over many weeks, and very slow effect

  • I gotta say this: In about 6 months I'll be there, I don't mind paying 3 or even 5 dollars to be there and be "fooled" so fucking what, I'll be there, it's the fricking middle of the world!!! How awesome is that?? Clockwise, counterclockwise, ppfff I don't care if you can do it on a tub after 24 hours, or any other thing people say here, I'll be there and you people probably not!!

  • if u shoot someone in the head at the equator they dont die go try it!!! they did it on mythbusters and its true!!!

  • @MrJasonsecret i believe its killbusters

  • the effect occurs whatever distance from the equator. Being on the equator only cancels the coriolis effect rotations and hence the liquid has no option but to move down without rotating. Move a little out of this thin area and you will see that the rotation resumes in the draining water. The effect is strange and I'm amazed that they could find a sweet spot for the cancellation of the coriolis effect rotations. The effect still exists, it's just cancelled.

  • There are many tricks since there are many suckers :-)

  • wow!!! I didn't think just a few meters from the equator were enough to observe twisters!

  • sick

  • dahahahaaha scammed

  • MEANING WHAT?: THE CORIOLISEFFECT CAN BE SHOWN IN HUGE BATHTUBS, AND EVEN THEN THE EFFECT IS MINIMAL, AND THE EFFECT CANT BE THAT DRASTIC ONLY A COUPLE OF METERS AWAY LIKE IN THIS VIDEO. AND THE WATER WOULD HAVE TO BE UNTOUCHED FOR 24 HOURS TO BECOME STABLE BEFORE EVEN THINKING ABOUT DRAINING IT.

You silly people got scammed, that guy is 3$ richer thanks to your dumbness, thank you and goodbye.

  • @Reality9O um its just for fun....no one said he was a scientist its a tourist attraction its to have fun i donmt go to mexivo to learn science about photosynthesis i go to relax and have fun....chill out its just fun..,.

  • @Reality9O its a poor ass country man, that guy proabably really needs those 3 dollars. imbecil

  • @anavarro09 Scamming is still wrong.

  • @Reality9O 3 bucks.. it's 3 bucks man..he spent time showing whatever he shows.. I would pay him 3 bucks just to give me info about the place.. 3 bucks is nothing to me, maybe a lot for him, are you fucking jewish?

  • @LOLDISNEYLAND 3 bucks or 3 millions, you dont get paid to trick other people you jew.

  • @Reality9O How can it be a bad thing if you are the one who accepts his offer to show you a trick or truth. You accepted so it's your fault if you got scammed. So using your argument for this example, David Copperfield the magician is a scam artist because people pay him to see his tricks? Come on, think before you speak!

  • @LOLDISNEYLAND youre just derailing the subject, it is what it is and i dont have the time to drag this out

  • This is repeated and the results averaged to make sure the effect is real. The Coriolis effect does indeed play a role in vortex rotation for draining liquids that have come to rest for a long time.

  • in a room where the temperature has stabilized (temperature differences in the room can introduce forces inside the fluid). The drain plug is then very slowly removed, and tiny pieces of floating wood are used to observe rotation. During the first 12 to 15 mins, no rotation is observed. Then, a vortex appears and consistently begins to rotate in a counter-clockwise direction (the experiment was performed in the Northern hemisphere, in Boston, MA).

  • From wiki:Draining in bathtubs and toilets

Coriolis rotation can conceivably play a role on scales as small as a bathtub. It is a commonly held myth that the every-day rotation of a bathtub or toilet vortex is due to whether one is in the northern or southern hemisphere. An article in Nature, by Ascher Shapiro, describes an experiment in which all other forces to the system are removed by filling a 6 ft. tank with water and allowing it to settle for 24 hrs (to remove any internal velocity),

  • This isnt science, its scamming tourists on 2 dollars. There is NO way the corioliseffect would be so effective only by standing within a range of 50 meters. The corioliseffect is strongest at the N/S-poles and weakest (pretty much non existant) at the equatorial zones, so this whole "scientific" experiment is nothing but psychological fooling, especially with the whole gravitation thing.

  • I have been there too, that is 100% real

  • haha this is my homework! :) (for social studies)

  • WHAHAHAAH

"in the south it rotates clockwise"

ROFL!!! If this wasnt a MYTH, based on the really really REALLY poor understanding of nature and science by 99% of regular people, and if this was really due to the coriolis effect, the water should be rotating COUNTERCLOCKWISE in the SOUTH GHAHAH!

this coriolis myth is like saying "evolution says we come from monkeys"...get some education or at least look OUTSIDE youtube for real facts and science...sigh

  • science? do you know what's science means? look, my recomendation is read and understand the diferents movements of our planet, for analize the centrifugal forces of the earth and the influence in the masses of the water, but that is posible to see ONLY IN LONG DISTANCES in relation to the equator line,AND BIG MASSES OF WATER, like the currents of the oceans...no three litres of water and one meter of diference.

  • Never min Kennia78

People believe what they want to believe and even in science where it is quite easy to get the right information...sadly people dont and are not interested in truth, they dont think it is possible that so many people are this ill informed, but yes, THEY ARE ghaaha

  • Wonder how much tourists must pay for this trick?

  • HAHAHAHHAHAHA!!!!

  • 3 dollars

  • @Warthog1976 its just about 5bucks a person for a tour of the whole museum. they show you these tricks as well

  • @Warthog1976 Kind off smart isnt it? too stupid to know that this is not possible inside small systems (water in sink, eggs on some stands...) why not let them pay and make a wizzard show. hahahaha

    Some people are stupid:

ever thought of that the sink might stand not strait? if strait the water runs without turn. if not noticable sligtly to one side the water might run and start to twist... ;o)...

the egg pin there... is it plain? are both the same?? and so on and so on.

  • @Warthog1976 wat do you mean trick this is real!

  • Very good TRICK!!!!! jajjajajjajajaj

  • its not a trick is science :)

  • no dejen de visitar la mitad del mundo es una experiencia inolvidable...gracias quito

  • it's just silly to think that being 5 feet away from the equator makes a noticeable difference.

  • WOW!! Back in my college years my professor told us about this strange experiments that took place in the center of the world. Thanks for the video!!

  • Haha, on southern side he pours water from the LEFT side, on northern side he pours it from the RIGHT side of the basin. Of course on the equator the water is already in the basin and is completely still(the guy also pulls the plug very gently there)

  • i went once to Ecuador but i didn't made those ecuatorial experiments they are cool

  • Same thing happens in the bath tob :{] (open moth happy)

  • nice one!

  • You can do the water "proof" yourself, anywhere in the world. It doesn't take much practice to learn how to pour the water into the basin to set up a current in the direction you choose.

  • wow, ha ha, djonesx! you seriously need to get out more! how long did you spend trying to balance that egg! you could have been down the pub.

  • @rickfarrell mm he doesn't need to get out he is out and enjoying life and having fun with gf/wife maybe allot better then getting drunk and not having a life ... and just to see it pass trough a buck of beer!

  • Its about the way he pours the water in, ignore him putting his hand in "to stop the water", that doesnt make any difference. You can also balance an egg anywhere anytime. As for the strength thing, dont be a mug. :)

  • go to Quito and try it yourself , then post

  • Good god cyberdwing, you got scammed/fooled. Go read some pages about the corioliseffect instead of just going to places where people want your money; Pretty much all the experiment he did was crap, not a real demonstration of the corioliseffect. Here is something interesting for your lazy butt directly from wikipedia: "It is a commonly held myth that the every-day rotation of a bathtub or toilet vortex is due to whether one is in the northern or southern hemisphere."

  • not sure how much of this is psychological and how much real, but very entertaining nonetheless!

  • thats awesomee...
