These are a massive pest here in QLD so are feral cat, dog, hare, fox and even roos are getting to plague proportions. I will kill anyone of these creatures on my property or mean my pups will. We eat all these..i feel bad to cull. But it has to be done to help our natives. Even though it was the thickheaded settlers that brought them here in the 1st place its not their fault but they have to die.
@TheKittyWonder Not true, as i explained below your comment if carefuly prepared by my procedures below, their legs and the big ones legs are very edible. If eaten whole the TTX Tetrodotoxin like in the pufferfish the japs prepare Fugu, exact same toxin. Id never go that far and always soak them plenty of times.
I spend 5 months in the bush on my land hunting ferals. Amazingly skinned carefully and left to wash in clean water. The legs of these are no different to bush rat or feral cat. Actually prefer the toad legs over the cat.
THESE CANE TOADS SEEM TO BE QUITE A MENACE, BILL.MAYBE ''CHICKEN GEORGE'' CAN PROVIDE SOME ASSISTANCE WITH THEM...MMM..I WONDER HOW THEY'D FRY UP ON HIS BBQ ???...
I quite like the Cane Toad, not because it's a nice animal, it's neither nice nor nasty it's just an animal but it illustrates quite nicely the law of unintended consequences. It demonstrates that stupid people with a reckless faith in their own virtue and intent will always be more dangerous than those of a malign naturet.
Well yeah, they're bad in Austrailia. Invasive species. But being native to America, most of the animals CAN handle the poison. Simple as that. I mean, fuck them in Austrailia, but in America, at least as I understand (Canadian) the're not as bad, at all.
Welcome to USA: Home of Cormac McCarthy and Kudzu. Are you gonna wrestle any of those invasive reticulated pythons down there in the Everglades? Love your work, Peace!
its an interesting dilema, but it evolved that way. it must fit into its ecosystem. there is an over abundancy of snakes in florida, perhaps it will help bring down the snake population
@strandwolf really? because i just watched a NOVA episode that was about pythons let loose by people who had them as pets, and they have bred overabundantly and are killing of endangered species. Google "snake problem in florida", you stupid ass clown, there are 17 million entries. Now, go fuck yourself

They secrete poison through glands on the back of their head I think. I''ve heard that some people eat them, if you prepare them correctly of coarse.

@TheAist There is not any "overabundance of snakes" except in Guam. IDIOT.
