Obama mentions Ryan's plan that fixes our long term debt problem, but doesn't like it because it doesn't address healthcare inflation that would mess up future seniors with a reimbursement cap. That's not being treated equally. It's not a coincidence that tax rates for the rich are at the lowest point in 50 years, and we're facing a huge budget deficit. Eliminate the FICA cap and the problem largely (not entirely) goes away. Period.

What Obama should have said is this: no, we know the proposals Republicans are offering, they've been unchanged since the 1970s. Cut benefits that go to the poor and middle class, and cut taxes on the wealthy. We've tried that twice, and it doesn't work; incomes stagnated and structural debt ballooned. Before passing his $800 billion stimulus, he promised unemployment wouldn't reach 8% with the stimulus, a year and a half and all that taxpayer money later unemployment is just under 10% not to mention he's added over $3 trillion to the national debt in less than two years

Since American Citizens are now going to be required to have health insurance, will I also have to continue to carry personal injury ins on my homeowner's/renter's ins policy? @jadcovington We gave Bush a break on the samething. Then thats what happened. In Obama's first year he spent Billions to save companies that should have been prepared, and ended up pocketing it. He lied in his campaign about what he was going to do "For Gay Marriage", and then said he was not going to touch the subject after he was in office.

@jadcovington Continues 2..... I don't want my President or Country to fail but he has miserably, anyone with basic business understanding would know that the way the Government is/has been run is extremely inefficient with 0 affect to bring down the debt.
We need a Government reform with equal amount of successful business/economic professionals, and Politicians. This would help manage the situations and fix the issues at hand with making necessary and hopefully unbiased cuts.

@ZeInfiniteEnigma Moron alert, in what way has he failed? Deficits were a problem BEFORE he arrived. The thing that has propped up the deficit was the stimulus bill. Don't forget, Republicans had their own stimulus bill (and this knowing that it would never pass so they could afford to keep it at 500B) which would have done the same thing.
Considering the LOADS of problems Obama had to deal with when taking office, I think he's done a terrific job. Thank God we got him at the helm.

The point is that Medicare and SS are bankrupting this country in no time flat. We are headed to Greece if we don't get this spending under control. The problem is, people enjoy getting something for nothing. Most current Medicare and SS recipients have only paid a fraction in taxes versus what they receive in benefits. This can not continue. I get the impression from this video, from watching the man's eyes, that Obama has something bigger in mind than instituting universal health care. I believe he considers passage of this legislation to be little more than a stepping stone to something that he considers greater and more grandiose. I don't know what that "something" is exactly, but based on his talent for obfuscation, I think I have a fairly good idea. And it ain't good.
