why would any human being allow there children to watch that video of the letter from hell? that is a bit too much! i would rather my kid to learn about the stars instead of them worrying about where they go when they die. it makes them not live there lives to the fullest and scares the shit out of them! basically turning them into brainwashed 13th century primitive human beings.. if was up to me i would burn every single quron, bible, ext ext there is.. so maybe one day we will have peace!

This is an extrememly Biased video. The "evolution" video featured nothing about evolution and the Christian video only showed the consequence of being arrogant enough to say that you need no help

But one thing that you did not show was the love that Jesus Christ has for us. Nearly everybody lies if there is enough motive to. Most christians just beg for forgiveness if they lie. Which, in the eyes of many atheists, does absolutely nothing but misplace the christian's personal responsibility to uphold the truth where needed. Every time I have witnessed christians say that they have proof of a god and fail to provide said proof they are lying. There are those who identify themselves as humanists who promote the general idea of "do no harm". Everybody has an instinctive moral compass.

No, I have not. And I won't, at least in person. I have the power of the internet and can make a sound judgement. It would be a huge waste of my time and money to have someone lie that a meteorite is instead a holy article erstwhile being surrounded by people who would shun me (like you). Not a fun trip in my opinion. I would prefer to visit an institution of science that figures out how the world works using instruments to observe reality from the ground up.

Carl Sagan, who wrote "Pale Blue Dot," where the dialog for the video comes from, was a self-professed agnostic who, although he rejected tradition views of God, didn't believe that God was an impossibility.

I did exactly as you said. The worst offense was the use of naughty language. I'll be honest, I would actually let my nephews watch those videos, provided that I watch it with them to provide guidance.

Do you understand the definition of "trends"? Atheist videos trend one way, while christian videos trend in a different way. With trends, you can always find many exceptions to the rule, but the exceptions do not reverse a trend.
just to play God's advocate, actually I disagree. People have been complaining since 2008 that this video is "Bias" because it shows a horrifying christian video and a pleasant Atheist video, they claimed I should show a horrifying Atheist video an uplifting Christian video. Yet, without excetion, NONE of them have been able to show me an example.

@ikawpipa Deathrow is only for murderers. Not that I agree with it, but it can still be considered just punishment (much like your God punishes murderers). But to justify killing based on nothing but BELIEF is just ridiculous. What you said could be applied to not just Atheists, but anyone that breaks commandment 1. Now assuming you're a Christian, that includes Muslims, Jews, Hindu's, Buddhists, etc. Are you saying that it would be just to have them killed because of their lack of belief?

This is nothing more than a technicality, but the "Atheist" video isn't actually from an Atheist. Carl Sagan, who wrote "Pale Blue Dot," where the dialog for the video comes from, was a self-professed agnostic who, although he rejected tradition views of God, didn't believe that God was an impossibility.

You've made a distinct, critical error with this video: The "Christian" one isn't aimed at general audiences (what you said in your warning crawl). It's specific to Christian audiences who already hold certain assumptions. Apples and oranges.
Whatever response you have to that, you should have clarified that from the get go.

The point is that many christians claim that atheists are angry and immoral people who have no reason to live, while christians are the loving, moral people who serve a higher purpose. Well, this video shows that it ain't so.

I guess I did miss that point. Because I thought, "How interesting: Apples and oranges contrast. Based on two videos. I wonder what would happen if we took ALL Christian videos and ALL videos produced by atheists and juxtaposed them for contrast's sake?" I really don't think these two videos represent a fair sampling, now, do you?

Feel free to find an atheist video with a completely negative outlook. You'll find very few. Many are just refuting religious thoughts.
Also feel free to find a christian video with a positive outlook aimed at a general audience. You'll find that many of them are condemning non-believers and telling a whole bunch of lies.

"THAT'S CHERRY PICKING!!!!" Yeah...I know...but how do you think the original poster most likely found BOTH these videos? Think he/she just picked the first thing that came to mind?
Might remember that quite often what is behind the eyes affects more what is seen than what is before them.

I did exactly as you said. The worst offense was the use of naughty language. I'll be honest, I would actually let my nephews watch those videos, provided that I watch it with them to provide guidance.
Naughty language is a far cry from using fear to force people to do your bidding.

My original response, which still stands, is that IF one is trying to put these videos side by side for comparison, then they aren't a valid comparison because the science one is meant for general audiences. The "Christian" one is not. Period.

Even if it was ever screened in a public school it would never have gained any widespread popularity and I defy you to prove otherwise. There's not a Christian worth his salt who would use that in a public classroom setting.

Most christians only preach to the choir anyway, so very few christian videos would be aimed at a non-christian audience.
As mentioned before, the christian videos meant for a general audience are full of "YOU'RE GOING TO HELL!!!111!!" and/or full of lies meant to push people towards god (ironically enough).

As it stands I think it very ill researched at best. I think this is primarily a case of "the eye will see what it wants to see." The only way you or anyone could convince me otherwise is if you were able to scientifically compare/contrast all available and comparable vids. I really don't think you can do that.

If you watch enough videos on Youtube by atheists and theists, you'll notice certain trends. Such as theist videos are more likely to block comments and ratings, and more likely to have lies.

Do you understand the definition of "trends"? Atheist videos trend one way, while christian videos trend in a different way. With trends, you can always find many exceptions to the rule, but the exceptions do not reverse a trend.
