  • i got a 'blood test' for celaic, and im not sure which one, but it was positive. I m 34 now, and since i was around 18 i was told they thought it was irritable bowel, and was also tested for Chron's.Since it's been 10 plus years since my symptoms started, should i still get the IE L test?

  • Hi,

If your test was positive then that's really all you need to know. The IBS diagnosis was likely symptoms caused by gluten; that is a very common misdiagnosis. There is no reason to get further testing. Remove gluten completely from your diet and let me know how you're doing. It would probably be a good idea to also eliminate dairy products (organic butter is fine) as well.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

    To your good health,

    Dr Vikki Petersen
