  • Omg u look incredible, I tought u only like 36. How long do u lift weights for.?

  • @twojsenerotyczny Thanks so much. I stopped for a few years and started seriously again at age 56. Baz

  • Thanks for this tutorial !

  • @ihatelols - pleasure. Baz

  • what are your testosterone levels

  • @newmanto03 - I do not have a clue. Baz

  • Great video, but baz.. what do you think about supplements? do you use them? do you recommend any particular kind?

    thanks

  • @RussiasNumber1 - I do not take too many things. I use normal protein powder 80% + protein. I buy on price not the brand names as they can be very expensive and do not really offer anything more. I take some creatine mono as that is great for energy and gives you a bit extra strength. I take a good vitamin tablet and some Omega 3 for joints. Make is not really that important. Buy on price from a reasonable sports shop. I use Holland & Barrett here in the UK. Baz

  • Baz: We have talked before in private messages here on youtube.

You have helped me alot, and I like you alot.

My english may not be perfect, but I do know alot about war.

A landmine per. definition is a anti-personnel device. If you don't mind me asking, did you get hit with shrapnel? If so... how you are able to do any form of workout is beyond me. Shrapnel crushes bones and tears open any flesh and muscle in area of hit. Anyway You help me and others a great lot. Thanks for all the videos!

  • @nhlpens - I was in a vehicle which was a mine protected vehicle so I only suffered with ears a bit and mainly back. I have learned to strengthen the back muscles so it supports the spine and then there is very little problem. If I let the muscles get weak I guess then I will suffer with back pain. Baz

  • Oh ok thanks man, so i do this every 3-4 days, in about how long will i start to notice growth?

  • @Vidaell - you can train them 2 times a week for 5/6 sets of 12 reps per set. You should see a difference in about 4 months if you are eating right. Baz

  • Im 13, can i do this with smaller weights?

  • @Vidaell - rather do the dips without weights. It will still do a lot for you if you do them properly. Baz

  • @Vidaell no you need to do it with even more weights than his using !

  • @almir185 - that is not good for a 13 year old who still has soft bone ends. He can cause damage that will be with him for the rest of his life. It is fine to go heavy when you are over about 16 because by then the bones have developed and you will not cause damage to them. Baz

  • Great tricep developer. ACE rated this exercise as one of the best., along with triangle pushups.

  • @rushv33 - Yes I think it is very good. I like tricep push downs and that has to be my all time best. Thanks for sharing the ones that have given you good results. Baz

  • @BazBlog

    Thanks for the support!

I just recently got back and have got a lot of stuff going on so I won't be on YT much.

I'll try to keep up with your videos, but won't post much - anyway thanks for the awesome (and insightful) videos!

    -Jake

  • @JakeLWright - pleasure my friend. I hope things work out well for you and that you can keep training. Good luck with whatever you have on the go. Baz

  • My jaw dropped when I heard you were 59! I wouldve guessed 42! And those dips work big time, they also work the pectorals correct?

  • @KamikazeBasher - that is a nice compliment. Thanks. Yes they also help a bit with shoulders but mainly the triceps. Baz

  • @BazBlog

Thanks for that! I'll try that (10 minutes - then back in 10 minutes)

I was running 1.5 miles or so in 10 minutes 4 times a day. (which I don't think would be that bad normally, but I have only 1/2 (or less) lung capacity than the normal person - medical condition)

  • @JakeLWright - that will be good. Let me know how you get on. I am sorry to hear you have a lung problem. Baz

  • Thanks so much I love the videos and they are super informative. Cheers!

  • @hijackn2890 - thanks very much for the lovely compliment. Baz

  • @BazBlog

    Oh, I almost forgot!

    You're 59!?!? That's insane! I guessed you to be mid/late 40s! I hope I can look like you at 59.

Whats your secret? Exercise and eating right?

  • @JakeLWright - that is a very nice compliment. I think the secret is thinking right. Then eating right and the balance is training. Baz

  • @BazBlog

    Thanks!

I'll probably rotate tri exercises to try and get the best results.

Thanks for the tips on running, I've never been much of a runner (do to a medical condition) but I recently started and I did what I imagine most determined new people try: running for miles per day every other day with no former practice, which I just recently found out was unhealthy.

You should post a video for newbees about the dos and don'ts of running/cardio. ;)

    -Jake

  • @JakeLWright - Yes rotate the exercises. With all training I think it is better to work your way up or you run the risk of injury. I am not an expert on running in fact I do not like running but I do use common sense. When I did run I used to go out for 10 minutes and then return in 10 minutes. (20min) Part was jogging and part was walking but the important thing was to come back in the same 10 min. I was soon running quite hard out for 10 minutes and back in 10min. Baz

  • 1.) Happy birthday! (sorry I'm late)

2.) Respect for serving, no matter what country.

3.) I'm trying to bulk my triceps because I realized my biceps are almost 3x bigger than my triceps (I do lots of freehand climbing etc. That doesn't work triceps)

Any tips or tricks that you recommend for bulking triceps? Or any other muscle?

4.) My current main goals are tris, shoulders, and running speed/distance.

  • @JakeLWright - thanks for the belated birthday wish. Cheers for the compliment. I think tricep push downs are by far the best for me. Many people will swear by narrow grip bench press or skull crushers. There are vids for both of these. Have a look at the fat burn video on how to gain fitness in the shortest possible time. The different speeds will help with your speed. Instead of using the bike rather do the same with your running. Baz

  • I'm able to do 5 sets of 12 reps each for dips. I did them the exact way that you did in this video. I put my feet on a chair to elevate them off the ground and I put 20 pounds on top of my legs. But when when I try to do skull crushers instead of dips, I can only handle 30 lbs in order to get thru the sets. If I add more than 30 lbs, then I can't do the exercise correctly. So is this really weird? I can handle a lot of weight for dips but so little for skull crushers.

  • @TheNewRiflemanBob - The reason is you are training the muscle at a totally different angle. That is why so many people really rate skull crushers as one of the best for building bulk. Baz

  • thanks man , i will do that :D

  • @nabester2000 - good luck with them. Baz

  • you are such a great man coming out with a great exercise and i'm doing this dips and all triceps exercises but my biceps bigger than my triceps , so what should i do cuz i know if u want big guns u should have huge triceps ,thanks man

  • @nabester2000 - thanks so much for the compliment. I have found that the best exercise for me is doing tricep pushdowns with some kickbacks. If you work hard on them 2 times a week they will grow and get big. Try doing 5/6 sets of 8-12 reps per set as heavy as you can handle. Make sure you keep your form correct so the muscle has to do the work. Baz

  • I love how happy you are! It's great. Also guys dont forget skullcrushers! But use a spotter. Skullcrushers and dips have given me great tricep size and *strength* and the strength will help with your bigger lifts aswell such as bench and shoulder press.

  • @AlsavierWoW - thank you very much and thanks for the tips. There is videos showing skullcrushers with bench and shoulder press aswell. Baz

  • You dont look 59 you look beetween 30 and 40

  • @Whiskie11 - gee that is a wonderful compliment. Baz

  • @Whiskie11 he looks about 50 to me, his breathing really gives it away.

  • @straaler5 - Yes I have a real noisy chest. Not sure how the breathing affects the looks though. lol. Still nice compliment making me younger then I am. Baz

  • Will triceps help me in doing pull ups easier? I am currently training to do more pulls up... I train my biceps very often and neglected my triceps. Just recently I began working on my triceps

  • @bioodchao - triceps only slightly help with pull ups but you should never neglect them as they make up 2/3 of the arm size. You will need to strengthen your biceps by giving them lots of rest, at least 48 hours between training them and going heavy when you do train them. Baz

  • @BazBlog Hmm ok thanks! Do u know if there's any way I can train for pull ups?

  • @bioodchao - You have to keep doing your bicep training and then trying to do as many pull ups as you can. As you get stronger you will be able to do more and more. Baz

  • @BazBlog Ok. Thanks Baz!!

  • @bioodchao - Pleasure mate. Baz

  • how many times a week should i train my triceps?? :)

  • @Andyen12345 - I do not think you should ever train the same muscle more than 2 times a week with about 48 hours min rest so the muscle can repair and grow. Baz

  • dude you look like 40 years old or somethin. haha anyway you make good videos and some very good tips!

    Greeting´s from sweden

  • @EnkonZed - thanks so much for the very nice compliment. Baz

  • Actually I posted before I watch the video lol. The type of sips I can't do are the whole bodyweight suspending ones. They're like squats using your arms lol - solid.

  • @TimpBizkit - you can always cheat using your legs to help till you build up strength with your triceps. Obviously on cheat as little as possible. Baz

  • It's all very well but I can't do a single dip :(. I can do 1/4 dips and then my arms buckle under the weight. Some people are built like light bulbs. I'm the opposite - a T-Rex

  • @TimpBizkit - you can do them with your feet on the floor and not on a chair so it is quite easy to do them. As you get stronger then raise you feet till you are finally putting weight on your lap when you do them. You can to them with dip stands and you can use your legs to cheat a bit so you can do them. Try to do as much as possible with your arms so they get stronger quicker. Baz

  • Wow so that's what they mean by adding weight while doing dipps thanks for showing that I away wanted to know what that meant thank you.

  • @MobianTopFighter - pleasure my friend. I am glad I could be a bit of a help. Baz

  • @SGTcrackey666 - thanks for your thoughts on this. Baz

  • I actually found it hard to believe you are 59! Ive seen people half your age who look worse for wear! I'm naturally skinny, well I weigh 12.5stone but my arms are weedy.

I got some weights finally and will be following your videos in hope I can get some muscles without worrying about protein shakes and all the jazz. Maybe I'll be weedy forever but I got to try.

  • @scarpino1985 - thanks very much for the compliment. You have to eat right if you want to build. That is one of the most important things to remember. Have a look at the nutrition video for ideas. You do not have to have protein shakes but it helps as it is just protein and you have to have protein even if you just get it in your normal diet. You will build and you are not destined to be skinny if you choose not to be. Baz

  • I really like your vids, they really helped me!

But I have 2 questions, and I hope you will answer them..

    1) What's better (with any exercise).. Reps of weights?

    2) When I train my triceps, I NEVER feel something afterwards, when I'm doing the exercise I feel it burn and stuff.. but, as soon as I stop with the exercise, even one second later.. it feels like I didn't do anything..

hope you can answer these questions, MT

  • @TheMT513 - I am glad you like the videos. It is important with both the reps and the weights depending on what you want to achieve. Different combinations will give different results. With the triceps you might not be working quite heavy enough. Do lower reps around 8 with quite heavy so you battle from the 6th rep. Do not have too much rest between sets and make them really work. Do things like push downs with kickbacks. That should make a difference. Baz

  • @TheMT513 if u are looking for definition, then go for more reps and less weight. if u want to make ur muscle bigger lower the reps and increase the weigths, or resistance. if u dont feel anything on ur triceps, u might be doing the exercise wrong, and not really training the tricep, just stressing it as a secondary group. Try to start allover again with low weight to get the best form and technique, and then add gradually as u do the whole motion without skipping the 'last' point. train safe

  • @k9r100 - great tips. Baz

  • @BazBlog hey baz, just wanted to point out the great work you've put on ur channel and u always get back at the ppl commenting. that's very important apart from doing a great vid. i wonder how you manage all this. keep up the good work, and thanx for sharing. peace

  • @k9r100 - Thanks for the comment. Yes it takes a lot of time but with some of the great comments I get that is what makes it worth it. Baz

  • Baz, I really enjoy your teaching style and your easy going manner. I'm wondering if you are planning on doing any more DVDs? I would love to get more with the same teaching style. I understand so far you've only got the chest training DVD out?

  • @Bonecrusher27WTF - thanks very much my friend. I have one on my website on biceps but have not quite finished it with music etc to make it into a DvD for sale. You can view it on the website Baz

  • Great vid, where you in the Falklands war?

  • @StyrbjornStarke - Thanks. No I was in the war when it was Rhodesia. I guess it was called the Rhodesian Bush War. Now it is called Zimbabwe. Baz

  • Hey Baz, i was just wondering how do you work your triceps with a multi gym equipment? I found that training using my multi gym is much more fun to do and motivates me to lift weights. Thanks

  • @PartyLaBabyOff - the exercise that I do more than anything else is tricep push downs. I also will do some kick backs. I find those are what get me going. Baz

  • on these dips baz why 8-12 reps? Could more repitions still help me build muscle in my triceps...

  • @erikmunoz55 - yes it is just that it is recognised that around 8-12 is good for building muscle. Some people will do a bit less and some a bit more. Each person will have their own theory. Baz

  • how big are ur arms

  • @VonBoquist - not that big. I guess about 17 inches or so. I never measure them and I never get on the scale these days. I think the mirror test is by far the best. If I like what I see I am on track and if I see an area I am not happy with I work on it. Baz

  • thanks will try this

  • @ussyless - good luck with it. It is an excellent exercise. Baz

  • you fought in a war? COOL!

  • @josh1212121 - yes but war is not nice. It is just a bunch of stupid politicans that cannot agree. I think if they cannot get on they should have to fight it out. This way there would not be so much pain and death. Baz

  • My friend says i need to do exercises one day then one day rest. is it true ? or i need to work 6/7 days ? im working sometimes all 7 days. i really love building my body. Sorry for bad english

  • @Talanov98765 - I train 6 days a week. I split the body up into muscle groups like noe group-chest, triceps and biceps. I then train a different group each day. I have 3 groups. That means that I only train the same muscle 2 times a week. if you train the same muscle more often you run the risk of over training the muscle and it will not grow. Muscles grow when you rest not when you train. Baz

  • @BazBlog thx a lot for info

  • @Talanov98765- pleasure my friend. Baz

  • you were blown up by a fkin land mine? >_>

  • @luv3z2p00p - Yes unfortunately. Not a nice thing but something I can now tell my grandkids now. Baz

  • i wuv u

  • @SuperNiglett - thank you. Baz

  • I just wanted you to know that I start boot camp for the US Marines on Monday, and I have used your videos for over one year to train in order to get myself in shape in order to make it through boot camp. If it wasn't for these videos, I probably would still be training wrong, and ill equipped for the Marines.

  • @dudewheresmygrl - that is such a wonderful compliment. Thank you so much. I am really pleased you feel in the right state for the Marines. I am sure you will crack it. If you can keep training when you are in there it will give the edge over the other recruits. Good luck my friend and do your self proud. Baz

  • @carlos260496 - thanks so much. My wife is all fit and well including myself and every thing is now going really well. Baz

  • baz can you send me a workout plan, on when to train specific muscle groups a week?

  • @mrg00dstuff - sure if you let me know how old you are then I can send you what is right for you. Baz

  • @BazBlog

    I am 17 years old this , weigh 140lbs, 5"10 or 5"11

  • @mrg00dstuff - OK no problem I can send you a plan to help you. Baz

  • im doing this exercises every day (6/7 days) my training takes 1 hour and 30 mins now. sometimes 2 hours. i watched all your videos and im following your instructions. im training biceps, triceps, wings, cheast. abs. but i have exercises for shoulders.. i can belive you are 59. you look like 47 yrs. your body looks like 27 yars

  • I'm 14 years old and I've been using 5kg dumbbells to train on my biceps and triceps for about 2 weeks and no results have started showing yet. I've been doing curls and the ones where u sit down and do one arm curls for biceps. For the shoulders i've been to kickbacks. For triceps i've been doing the ones where you put your elbows up and lift up. As i said before i've gotten no results. Am i able to eat protien anytime of the day or does it have to be before/after the workout? Happy Birthday

  • @VHKprimus and i workout everyday which im not sure if its right or not. whats the maximum of days i can workout in a week? sorry for the long comment

  • @VHKprimus - I have sent you a plan that will show you when to train. Baz

  • @VHKprimus - You will not get results in 2 weeks. It takes months. As a very young man your metabolism is going to be fast so you will not build quick anyway. It will take time. You should not be doing too much with weights just yet till your bone ends have matured a bit more. I will send you some ideas on how to train. Baz

  • You definitely have a body of a 25 year old. Thats determination at its best. Looking great Baz. Thanks for these great tips. I finally can do dips with minimal strain.

  • @newersify - thanks very much for the very nice compliment. I hope you training goes well. Baz

  • It is great to see you back again Mr. Baz. Happy late 59th birthday sir. You still look great even with time off.

  • @kingofcraig - thanks very much for the compliment and birthday wish. I hope it goes well with you and your training. Baz

  • i havent been to gym for quite a while because i was injured in the shoulder a few months ago.after watching your video,i cannot wait to go back gym.i will restart training next month.thank you

  • @240kankan - I am sorry to hear that you hurt yourself. i hope you will be able to workout soon. Good luck with your training and thanks for the comment. Baz

  • what ?59?you are still in perfect shape.thank you for your instructions.

  • @240kankan - gee that is a really nice compliment, thanks. Baz

  • baz, how many reps etc.? 3 x 8-12 or what?

  • @mne231 - I like to do like 5 sets for every muscle so i would do 5 sets of around 8 to 12 reps each. Baz

  • hell of a guy ! yeah hehe. hope i'm gonna be that fit, robust and shaped when I'm in baz's age. baz is fitter than than 75% of 30 yr olds

  • @mne231 - Thanks very much for a very nice compliment. If you keep training you will be even better. Keep it up my friend. Baz

  • Looking great at 59 mate. Keep up the good work bruv

  • @thepartyboi2009 - thanks very much for the compliment my friend. Baz

  • great baz

  • @MythZhunter - cheersmate much appreciated. Baz

  • Great video. I think it's really significant that this video has zero dislikes; just a testament to your amazing videos.

  • @coldhotchocolat - yes I think I am very lucky with a fantastic supportive audience. Baz

  • I was already able to see better shuolders/delts with the last video I play of you. Now you've shown me how to take dips to another level.

  • @supremeconsul - that is so nice to hear thanks a million my friend. Baz

  • Baz your simply amazing. A real inspiration.

  • @WLordnDRanch12 - that is really nice. It is great to see you commenting again. Baz

  • Baz ....good to see you again....as usual, simple but good advice, thanks for everything, take care, you've helped me so much

  • @Dalp1974 - pleasure my friend and it is great to be back. Thanks a million for your support and comments. I hope your training is going well. Baz

  • Im so happy to see you again! and I just can't believe that you're 59! that's ridiculous, you look younger.

thanks for the training tips :)

  • @ChimieTube - thanks so much for the compliment and I am so happy to see you making coments. The very best of luck with your training my friend. Baz

  • @BazBlog That is pretty crazy your like my professor everyone was in shock to find out he was 60 and I'm in shock to see that your 59 love the vids and the work out

  • @kstar66 - that is a really nice compliment. Thanks very much for posting it. Baz

  • @DickKnowsBest - My birthday is the 27th August. Baz

  • @chiellinirules - great to be back and I am feeling magic now, thanks. Baz

  • Good to see you back and you're one tough guy! Happy belated birthday as well! Dips are a fantastic exercise. Love them and really feel the burn with them!

  • @FunnyHaHa312 - thanks so much for the comment. Yes I must agree with you they are a great exercise and easy to do at home even. Baz

  • was wondering how to bring Dips into another level! Thanks for the way to add weight to Dips!

Bigger Triceps here i come! :D THANKS BAZ!

Happy Belated Birthday, stay healthy and strong to both u n ur wife! :)

  • @TheNikzaw - thanks very much for the compliments. I am sure if you keep up your training you will look better. Baz

  • ur a trooper baz

  • @HardcorrGam3r - cheers for that mate. Baz

  • good to see you back..keep up the good work

  • @jerryco2005 - I am happy to be back and I certainly will be doing more. Baz

  • Another great video baz im doing these first thing in the morning

  • @EHNZROCKSLUTS - thanks very much. Excellent you are doing them. You must not do them every day or you will not allow them to grow. Only 2 times a week. Baz

  • does this work the front shoulders too?

  • @piratelord99 - yes it does slightly. Most exercises will work secondary muscles when you train them. Baz

  • Thanks a lot!!

How many sets do you think you should include in a workout to get great triceps when training your arms??

  • @saxophoneman23 Pleasure buddy. I like to do 5/6 sets. With this exercise I would do like 10 to 12 reps per set. No more than 2 times a week so the muscle can repair and grow. Baz

  • Baz I was worried about you, I´m glad to see you again. Thanks

  • @Dieguilloeltunante - hey that is so cool that you had me in your thoughts. Thanks a million for your concern and support. Baz

  • Baz! Good to hear you’re back in it. Firstly, happy belated b-day. Second, man, you’re one tough dude! A land mine?! I’m almost 32, but I’ve thrown out my back before. As I understand it, I’ll always be prone to easier back-injury. I know it may sound like quack medicine, but if your back continues to give you trouble for any length of time, then you might look into acupuncture (professional, of course). Some people swear by it. And finally, thanks for this video. Always informative!

  • @PimpMilkySaysThis - Brilliant to see you commenting again. Thanks very much for the compliment. I was actually chatting to a Chinese lady at a business meeting and she does acupunture. I must admit I am quite in favour of more traditional medicine. Unfortunately she is based in London and I am near Oxford so quite a way to go. I kept thinking it was going to get better but one day lead into the next and before I knew it over 2 months had passed. Thanks very much for that anyway. Baz

  • Happy Belated

Good luck with losing those extra kilos lol

  • @PlasticCoffee - thanks a lot for the birthday wish. I think I will need all the luck I can get to lose the extra fat. Baz

  • Thanks for another awsome video and after 2 months of not training you still look good!

  • @mensemepper - thanks very much. Yes i think I am quite lucky. I have a way to go but once you have been training it comes back very quick. Baz

  • Happy Belated Birthday. You look fantastic. Keep up the great work!

  • @dj99surf - thanks very much for that. I appreciate your support. Baz

  • @brentvale - cheers mate very kind of you. Baz

  • @brentvale - thanks so much for your concern and support. Baz

  • Baz you look like more of a tank now lol i mean you look better :)

  • @urb3stm8 - well that is a really nice compliment. I really do need to lose a bit of belly fat though as it has come on. Great fun to see it go though. Baz

  • Happy Birthday Baz!

Thanks for all the wonderful support, I hope you can continue you're training, all you're information and positive attitude have truly helped me increase my fitness ten fold to be ready for the upcoming Football Fixtures In November!

Once again, keep it goin big guy.

  • @Oldschoolhockey91 - thanks very much for the birthday wish. It is a pleasure to try to help people and I am so pleased it has help you so much. I am sure you are going to blow them away on the football field when you start playing. Well done!!! and thanks again. Baz

  • Hey buddy welcome back! Sorry to hear about your back pain. I have herniated & bulging discs so I can relate. Happy belated birthday. I worked triceps today and forgot this one. Nice form plus by doing it you focus more on the triceps. You will definitely lose the kilos in no time. How are the DVD's doing? As for the second I've seen people use 45lbs plates and one is good for me anything more is just asking for an injury.

  • @WhiteGirlsAsianPLZ - Thanks very much and it is great to be back. Yes you have to treat your body with care especially if it is injured. Never give up though as you can always find a way to train. The DVD' s are going well. Yes rather do a bit less weight and do the reps a bit slower. That will give a very similar effect to very heavy weights. Baz

  • happy birthday baz, nice to have you back.

  • @BatmanGriffin - thanks so much my friend and it is great to be back. Baz

  • These hurt my wrists :(
