just got a mower for free with that exact same motor just a little older. was working on it earlier, had great spark, gas tank was dry, and it had decent oil in it. tomorrow just gotta get some carb cleaner to clean the jets and the needle and seat and it should be good to go. only visible problem so far is that the muffler is blown out but thats no big deal
no wonder they threw it out... it has a tecumseh engine on it, LoL. yea on the handle frames mounted on the deck, it always rust on those 2 spots, soon as the rust eats up the metal, it weakens the brackets mounts and when you push down on the handle... it breaks, we used to have a ServiStar mower (hardware store brand) and 2 years later... the brackets on the deck for the handle, it broked off, due to rust, took the engine and slapped it on a trash find aluminum deck and still runs
Are you retarted it is clearly a old tecumseh and old tecumseh's r the best lawn bower ever. they will out last anything else. O yeah and just to let u know mabey u should clean yer lawn mowers before storin them for the winter, they wont rust. Its not the machine its the oporator.
i had too much trouble with tecumseh engines, not even worth my time to mess with, i am sticking with briggs engine, they was clean before they was stored for the winter... my mom kept the cats in the garage and they all make the dust, running around, scooping litter pans, up in the loft, walking anyplace they like, everytime i cover it up... they either get on top of it and the cover slips off, or they pull it down with their claws just to climb on it...I HATE CATS!!!

I have a mower very similar, got it from an old man. It sat over winter. Extremely cold start, fired up first pull without a prime. Magic

Tecumseh may not be the very best, as opposed to Briggs & Stratton, but this example is a perfect runner.

Check on the side of the engine where it says the seriel number, that should show the year of the engine (D.O.M.)

The engine model itself is a TVS90 unit.
T = Tecumseh
V = Vertical shaft engine
S = Styled
90 = 9.0 cubic inches (148 cc)
