  • Good work with the video. It's a great underrated film.

  • J'adore cette version de cette chanson de Brian Jones et Keith Richards, Ruby tuesday. A la fois douce profonde et forte. Un diamant... J'adore ce film Children of men, profond et fort..et un peu triste à la fois...

  • This movie is so surreal....Micheal Caine is never without work either, One of the best actors ever.

  • nice film, nice song.....R.I.P. from Czech Republic

  • B E U tiful

  • One of my all time favorites. You believe what your watching, as everything said and done is very life like, and "in your face" real.

  • The best thing about the movie: the hero never picks up a gun.

  • @Meereeo wow, i have never realised, you are right

  • @Meereeo omg youre right, the only weapon he uses is that heavy rock he finds

  • Sponsored by Quietus

  • lose your dreams and you will lose your mind

  • I love Michael Caine in this movie, pity he came out for the Tories in the last election, sort of ruins my view of him.

  • Whats the thing with the box in 2:25, I know he killed the woman and the dog to spare them from the people invading them but what was it??

  • @leanneba15 A suicide kit, it makes the user fall into a deep sleep and eventually die peacefully.

  • this is the only film made in the last 10 years that i consider a masterpiece. they just don't make movies like this anymore.

  • battiato is just a fuckin genius ... guy has been making groundbreaking music in italy for the last 40 years

  • great movie, great sound, great actors! but who did this song?

  • @Tsaky95

To quote the description: The song "Ruby Tuesday" from Franco Battiato moved me. So here it is...

  • Yes it's underrated...it's easily amongst the top of sci-fi movies. It's just that the Hollywood loving mentally challenged audiences have a hard time understanding it. Transformers is more to their liking...you know..."bang, boom, big robot, piss, yeah more robot, me like big robot, boom, fuuun, me fuun!"

No offense to genuinely handicapped people.

  • The future's a thing of the past

  • I watch the Film in this moment at the first time. thank you to post this song with the titel to find it fast :-) Great Song.. and now i watch the rest of the film :-))

  • One of the best films I've ever seen. Everything in it feels totally real when you're watching it. During some scenes I cried like a baby.

  • @Winner8501 Yes, I cried too. In the baby scene...

  • great song and even greater movie!

  • The definitive version of one of the most beautiful songs ever written featured in one of the most devastatingly brilliant films ever made.

Thank you so much for posting...

  • sorry mate, but this movie takes The Road (the movie not the book) and takes a big dump on it and never calls it again in my opinion. This film is not only frightening, graphic and immaculately shot (not to mention written), but bitterly, bitterly sad. One of the best films ever without a doubt. peace

  • great movie... on par with the road imo

  • Thankyou, this is beautiful

  • Nice work dude!

I really and i mean really like this movie!

  • I also like this version a lot more than the original. Thanks for the post.

  • this ain't bad but jesus seriously yeah right is it better than the original, anyone that thinks that has some fuckin issues......

  • I was not aware of the movie, but saw it last week and loved it and the way they sing that song is absolutely beautiful, thanks for putting it on

  • Children of Men is by far my favorite movie, and when I found out about the song from the movie I downloaded it. Awesome movie eh?

  • @hugbear27 i am agree, i enjoy from 20 years this great artist named franco battiato. If you listen the pieces in album "fleurs2" you can dram with remake of fantastic song that franco (and this is fast incrdible) makes even better than original.

    Thanks

  • this is the best version of this song by far!!!! way better than the rolling stone 1 xD

  • Excellent!5*

    Many thanks for posting

  • great choice of scenery John. well done in my books!

  • Brilliant movie, directing and song.

  • good bye ruby tuesday. who could hang a name on you? when you change with every new day... still i'm gonna miss you...

  • Amazing film.

    The concept scares me though.

  • One of the greatest movies I've ever seen! I can honestly dont think of anything they should have done different!

  • Brilliant film. It really is.

I don't like watching any film more than once in about.. 6 months period. (Yeah ..odd idc)

But dude, I could watch this all day!

And this song haha, It really does fit the scenes it's involved in. Within all the caos that these people are in, is such a mellow song. And yet sadly depressing.

I can't say there was a best scene in the film, maybe literally just the scene with Jasper going into the house with the box for his wife and dog. Gah.. that was sad :'(

    5*

  • One of my favourite flics, the scene with this tune is also class.

birth scene is amazing also, closest thing I've seen to the real thing in a movie.

  • Great song, great film. Head and shoulders above any other sci fi dystopia made since 9/11.

  • This film will inspire other film makers... The Cinematography was great... no... BRILLIANT

  • such a beautiful song and, i think, a truly monumental film for our times. i must buy the soundtrack

  • This movie is so underrated. Owen's character was great. He believed the the child could bring peace so he kept trying his best to keep them safe. He lost people who were close to him and in the end he still sacrificed himself for the baby and the mother. My favorite scene was when theo was caught in the crossfire while finding the baby. I showed this film at least six times to my friends and families and they enjoyed it.

  • @trampleking83 I totally agree =3

  • @trampleking83

One of my most favorite movies ever..

  • @trampleking83

And Clive Owen himself in this role is underrated, he starts off as a guy who has no hope and turns into a hero with the hope that the baby will bring the piece.

Should have been nominated for a bafta or an oscar :)

  • @trampleking83 My favourites parts have always been whenever they show the state of things, like the scenes at his friend's home, the city, etc. It's so surreal.

  • the old man dies, they kill his wife in the wheelchair too?

  • ne, the old man kills her with the suicide-pill. Therefore he takes it and says "I love you" to her a few moments before.

  • He also kills his dog

  • 'There's a woman and a dead dog inside.'

So yeah, Great movie my mother reacted that people would 'never be like that' but seen the storyline and events happened prior to the movie they would. Just because you don't like it doesn't mean it won't happen.

  • Yes it is realistic if you incorporate the prior events/storyline -- randomly it is less likely but still possible.

it makes sense in the movie.

  • It really makes me think, because THIS is already happening in other countries like Irak, India and so on. And the people getting killed is innocent, they could have bin ME and my family. But everybody's like "they are not like us, they're terrorists" but they are like us, not all of them are terrorists. They just don't look like I do and speak the same language as me. But they are ME.

  • Its actually more about the fact that people can't have babies.

It would be total chaos if people can't reproduct.

Have you seen this movie at all?

  • they couldnt make babies, not that they werernt allowed, idiot, everyone was infertile

  • It's about despair, not terrorism. Just think; it is a dystopian society where man no longer can reproduce, the only reason to live is to se everything end...

    How nice is that?

  • I always get so depressed, but yet amazed by this movie. It feels so horrible thinking, is terrorism going to ruin the world? Is my peaceful country going to be in a war in just 70-100 years time?

  • This was an incredible movie. Broke my heart.

  • 2:52 to 3:08 makes me feel sickk

  • Pretty harrowing.

  • the future is now.

  • i think the film ended too sharply, i wanted to find out what happened next!

  • That was the idea.

  • One of the movies that touched me most. I doubt that there will be a movie in near future that can cope with this masterpiece..

  • Youre right. The film was good. The look, camera and design was brilliant but the story and the screenplay were both week.

    But its a good film

  • maybe the screenplay was a little weak, but i believe the story wasnt. the premise of the human race becoming sterile is just a backdrop to society being pushed to its limits, the reasons as to why we become sterile is not important.

  • the movie is great!!!!!!and the accent of the singer...wow!

  • the best movie ever!!

  • originally this song be band rolling stones ins't it? blast.. this movie one of my fav brilliant! yes in this movie as it shown many problems with emigrants.... i see now i understand why i am half british i like atmosphere in this film it so abandon experimental....and that scene with the child *like in holy bible* sorry for my english! (im russian)

  • This is possibly my favourite film for a long time - and the song is also really, really good. Films like these make me proud to be British (with the exception of the caged up immigrants).

    Great video.

  • which cover of ruby tuesday is that?

  • Its by an Italian musician named Franco Battiato

  • Great video. Pitty that I can not add it to my website.

I can only add a link (I did it already).

  • 2.25 , that scene did it for me, brilliantly acted and directed, such a good film.

  • How much time did sou spent adding the video to the song? It fits pretty great.

The song is even nicer with the video from so great film.

  • I absolutely loved this film (and this song just added so much emotion into it- especially before the Fishes get Jasper..)

Loved this film to death- seen it like 3 times in 2 days now :p

Such pain, misery and death in a world gone to shit..

  • love the song and film.

  • the movie was excellent, but the message it sent was moving. i mean, think if this was to come true?

  • The fertility thing, maybe not, but some of the other things, like the political injustice, enviromental destruction, terrorism, military dominance and totalitarian governments, we're already on our way there.

    Great film, great song.

  • one of the best films ever!

  • children of men was ssooooooo sick

  • This is such a beautiful movie.....

  • 3:10-3:24 beautiful

  • The Rolling Stones version is way better, but it's still a nice variation.

  • Maybe so but this version suits the tempo and mood of the film. Dick Gaughan, the Scottish folk singer also covers this song (as yet unposted). Such a good song, great movie.

  • Well done, you got some of d best bits of that movie

I cried. It's funny how people can b so emotional about something at happened in 1 big oom wit loads of cameras, that is completely fake!

  • great job mate.

  • Cuaròn is a great director....unfortunately he makes movies in Hollywood, as happened for Verhoeven....

Anyway, the choice of Battiato's version of Ruby Tuesday is genial!

  • Something about the way it sounds... What a great take on a classic tune!

  • someone should make a children of men music video with shadow of the dya by linbkin park

  • Best Movie, best Ruby Tuesday music video, thanks a bunch, man! :D

But seriously...I must say Children of Men really topped off all Hollywood future movies. :D

  • Love this song, but the movie is in a different league. Its a work of art, And a very realistic future if you take out the part of no children. But even with that it creeps inside you. weird...

  • Great song! Much better then the Rolling Stones version. The movie is also awesome; great acting by Clive Owen and Michael Caine.

  • Nice video man.

  • Great job, this video is really cool, I loved the film and you did a good job capturing the way it felt to me. I like this ruby Tuesday cover also. Well done.

  • the long scenes made this film for me, i also liked that the depression was able to get inside and thats why i love this movie, not because i like being depressed but i like movies that can move me......the stork joke was fuckin funny to

  • Fantastic song but the movie is in a whole great acting could have been improved but some but not all but they played the parts their own. I think it is a very moving film but did not incorperate the book all that well. Still no matter what is said it is a classic in my list mainly because of the camera during the running scene to get her and the baby out of the cross fire and the beautiful morbidity of the whole film.

  • this movie gives you an idea of what britain might look like in teen years after peak oil!

just exchange the tuctucs for richas and youve got the perfect image!

    very good movie anyway

  • this was really one of the best movies ive seen in a while. its just a shame it got no recognition. i like battiato's version of the song too

  • this movie was fucking amazing. one of the best ever

  • This movie is sensational, it's so good and really makes you think about terrorism and the tragedies of the 19th century. I also love this version of the song, which Franco Battiato album is it on?

  • The 19th century indeed, I do also really regret the Irish Pato Famine of 1845. Great vid by the way, everyone should have to see it.

  • wait why the 19th century, this film is set in the future...i think u mean 20th century

  • The film is set in 2021 so that's the 21th centurry not 20th century

  • The Album is FLEUR´s quite hard to get your hands on outside Italy

  • The Album is FLEUR´s quite hard to get your hands on outside Italy

  • What a great movie !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it had a great plot idea. the acting was okay, would have gotten an Oscar if the acting was improved. other than that, awesome movie.

    a bit morbid too...

  • This was an amazing movie. It's a shame how it didn't get any of the credit it deserved.

  • aint it the truth

  • Grow up both of you

  • id say this argument is pretty heated for youtube

maybe you guys should meet and like

    knife fight of somthing

thatd be the correct reaction to a comment calling children of men shit

  • To: KissMyHoop

Judging by the videos you have selected in your Favorites, I would say that you know "shit" about what you are talking about.

Don't like Children of Men? That's fine, but when you say its a horrible movie, then, well, you have issues.

You need to shut the fuck up, and go die in a fucking hole you compelte idiot. You do not deserve the right to be seen, or talk in public, or in any other manner.

  • I have issues? And that's coming from someone who's running two accounts - one to spout shit, and the other to repeat himself? Jesus, what a fucking loser! Nice cat molesting video by the way, loser. I hope you'll be filming it on the day it claws your spotty little face off, loser.

  • Great cover, amazing movie - there is no better depiction of war torn ghetto than this movie - absolutely stunning

  • your english is worse than shit

  • I agree with finchleypd102. At least his english is better than your italian...

  • lol your comment made me laugh at least. I agree, Franco Battiato is a very shit. you know?

  • This was one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. They captured perfectly how society in the near future could be. I was especially fascinated by the various religions and faiths that are noticable in the film. Humanity seems to have lost trust in itself, obviously :D.

    Great job, I'm a fan!

  • this song is really best matching to this film. i just love it. and these scenes really mirror the spirit of this song exactly and of the film of course too

    thx a lot

  • It's obvious most of the fans of this movie are fascinated with doom and gloom. Well, just wait 'til after the '08 olympics. Like Nazi Germany, China will showcase its might, then unleash it on the rest of the world. Taiwan first, then oil rights in the South China Sea. We're all gonna' get nuked. So enjoy your certain fate.

  • Oh no China's gonna win the olympics, take over Taiwan using their nonexistant navy and laughably small air force, and then nuke the entire western world. Meanwhile the U.S. aircraft carriers and nuclear submarines in the region are just gonna watch as the whole mess goes down. Who's really fascinated with doom and gloom?

  • You forgot the 7 million plus army. But you're correct that I love doom and gloom so much I keep watching this clip and fantasizing about singing a duet with the bad Arnold Schwarzengger impersonator - "Gooodbye loooby tooosday" - then dying on a rowing boat with the worlds worst actress.

  • Right, 7 million 5ft. tall Chinamen toting poorly made Kalishnikov ripoffs are going to seize and retain control of Taiwan with no air cover or means of maintaining a supply line. How are those 7 million midgets going to get to Taiwan in the first place without a navy? Are they going to make a people bridge out of all those Chinamen and then role tanks across it? And of course China plans on blowing it's ICBM wad without any fear of a retaliatory strike by every nation within NATO.

  • The AK-47 is very reliable and easy to repair. Not all 7 million would got to Taiwan. NATO and the UN are impotent. And never underestimate your enemy - all together now - "Iraq".

  • So are the M16A4 and the M468 assault rifles used primarily by the American military. Same goes for the M248 SAW and Barret .50cal sniper rifle. The UN may be impotent but NATO certainly isn't. And don't start mouthing off about Iraq. You'll ruin your already lacking credibility as soon as you start spilling your left wing propaganda about how we're losing that conflict. If we lose which I doubt it'll be because you your ilk wanted us to lose just so you could say you were right.

  • you [and] your ilk that is to say

  • LEFT WING!! ME - now that's just plain rude. Okay, Okay. You guys win the thread. I bow down before your infinite wisdom, superior credibilty, and Sicilian-ness.

Barrett .50 cal. Hmmmm. Gimme, Gimme! M82A1 right?

Have a wonderful day all of you, and I'll try to forget the death threat.

  • You are doing a great job at being an idiot. Keep it up!

  • It's well known that you should never get involved in a land war in Asia, but only slightly less well-known is this: never go in against a Sicilian when a cherry cover of an o.k. song is on the line.

  • The scene in this film when he drives through town and you see all the misery and this music is played i think is the strongest of this whole inc readable film

  • Great song, great film and a good video.

    The best rating for sure.

  • Children of Men is definitely one of the best/saddest/most disturbing movies I've ever seen. Alfonso Cuaron did an excellent job with this movie. I was wondering who sang this song in the movie too. He's Italian? I thought he sounded Russian. He sings it really well and I do like it slowed down like this but credit really has to go to the Rolling Stones for writing it and doing it first.

  • What a match, eh? Great song! GREAT movie!

  • I really like this movie, the actors were great, but I have to say, I like the Rolling Stones version better

  • One of the most emotionally disturbing videos I've ever seen, beause the quick decay and collapse of humanity and a government's struggle to hang on to power felt so real. Urban battles in ruins, rise of extremist groups, human life valued by none, the gun decides who has power and who doesn't.

Great song, good video. Don't jut DVR CoM, buy it on BluRay and watch it in HD, you haven't seen movies till you've seen HD.

  • I DVR'd Children of Men. It is an awesome movie. I have watched it 4 times now, picking up on something new each time. A very realistic possibility of the near future given world event of present. Ruby Tuesday is one of my fave songs from the movie. I encourage all to rent or buy it. Worth the time and money!

  • superb movie,very realistic

  • I doubt it is Franco Battiato who's singing. Anyone know who's the singer?

  • You're wrong.

Look up the soundtrack on Amazon - "9. Ruby Tuesday- Franco Battiato". You can even preview the song.

  • Indeed, I was wrong. Where did he get that accent!?

  • I suppose he was trying a lot because normally italians have such a strong accent (but cute!)

  • Yes, is really Franco Battiato in that version but the original song is from the Rolling Stones. Battiato made a wonderful version in the cd "Fleurs"

  • Beautiful movie and beautiful song, perfect match.

  • I just watched this film, and absolutely loved it.

  • i´ve seen it 3 times in 3 days, best film ever

  • Such a grate film evry one should see thies.

its the kind of film yo haveto watch twise

  • if i had like a week of free time i could relate this movie to victor frankl's theories on man's search for meaning....like a mofo

  • I loved this movie. Its pretty full of emotion and it's open for several interpretation. One of the best thing is that the awful reality depicted is not so far to be true in our real world we already live in, and this kind of "realism" is one of the best traits of this film. Plus, along this depiction of reality we see like we are riuning the world like we are totally forgetting that humankind should perpetrate itself. If we deserve it. I hope that we do.

  • this movie was freakin sick. Loved it. Probably one of the best ive ever seen

  • for me, this version of rt by battiato is better than every one, and children of men could be the best film in 2006...cuaròn is a very good filmaker T_T

  • The films amazing, totally English. it doesnt relate to anything American, fuck even the sound of crows as they go to the Fishes safehouse reminds me of early morning here.

The realism involved is immense, the part where Julian is shot is not drawn out into some huge sequence, its over in seconds.

Its a perfect movie, not over dramatised at all like USA films generally do.

  • Well put

  • I've watched the movie but havent seen the book, any1 who has read and scene it can give me any output to which one is better?

  • i love this film!

  • i dont understand what you mean by the best action sequence ever ruined by an annoying baby crying.. the action sequence wasnt ruined, the point was that at the sound of the baby crying they stopped fighting, even just for a moment because they saw some hope, and they were fighting because they had lost hope in life, and as a consequense of this had lost reason for morality. The baby didnt ruin anything.. it was a symbol of humanity.

  • so much humanity in this song, and the movie. thanks for posting

  • Good movie. Interesting how people with nicks like "Antichrist" need to comment on people's sanity because they like a film.^^

As sidenote, because someone mentioned V for Vendetta (which I also did like)... both movies were shown as double feature 4 days ago here, on pay TV.

  • You can't really be that dumb can you antichrist. Did you completely miss the riveting action, the excellent acting, the atmospheric set direction, and the disturbing parallels between today's world and the future world in the movie.

  • Oh, by the way - the Abu Ghraib symbolism was already worn out when "V for Vendetta" used it, which in hindsight was the better movie. It had more to say about the dangers of totalitarianism . Remember V's speech?

  • What Abu Ghraib symblosm for gods sake?

The fact that they put bag on their heads??
