Now that you mention it, the Wright Brothers didn't use wheels either and they had a bicycle shop! Go figure? Who wants to carry the damn thing to the air strip? I'm putting wheels on my aircraft!
The wing doesn't need to be above the pilot for stability, that's what the dihedral in the outer wing panels is for.
This bird may have low speed directional instability. V tails can have a tendency to 'hunt' for a heading, and it looks like this fellow may have been lacking yaw authority.
Thanks for the video! You may be able to find more material on this TL1-A from VULA dot o r g.
oops. I was looking at the photo from the Queensland Air Museum, theirs has a V tail, this one doesn't. Qld plane also has spoilers for roll control , which means if he wants to roll, he may stall the inside wing when turning. Looks like he was in ground effect at the stall angle of attack / minimum controllable airspeed. Did he do a W+B, I wonder.
I suppose I could have gotten the same result sitting on MY lawnmower...

I'm sure the pilot being in the prop wash contributes to the a/c's left turning tendencies.

That looks real safe with the fuel tank right behind the pilots seat.

@ghostbullet94 if your pitching the nose that high to take off you in for a stall you only need to pitch it a couple of degrees.

Engine: Mac 101 (kinda small) . See Wikipedia.
Why would this plane have w+b issues?
The wing doesn't need to be above the pilot for stability, that's what the dihedral in the outer wing panels is for.

Wing needs to be above pilot ( high wing) for better stability
