  • ok for the record, my dad, Donald F Mullen Sr. wrote this song to my mom, circa 1967, HiHo Club, Wayne, NJ. I was 5, my Dad, operated the HiHo Club back then - perhaps Monkee Mike Nesbith visited there's another verse

But like I said I don't think of you much,

    there's someone beside me

    who helps me forget

    he's shown me how

not to think of you now

    and whether I remember you

    I won't forget

how we didn't hold on to the dreams that we shared

dreams we were known to believe in

  • This song....oh my goodness....from 30+ years ago.....it was for someone who things just didn't work out for the two of us. Like the song says...I really don't think of him much...and I am better off now, without him, but for all of the pain, I would love him again...for I really have never loved anyone more....thank you for posting.

  • Just saw Her in Concert this week, Her voice has not changed one bit and she sounds as Great as she always has.

  • My favourite song by Lynn

  • Lynn always knows how to touch a persons heart God i love her songs

  • Actually Lynn Anderson first recorded this song in 1975. It is still one of my all-time favorite country songs.

  • @BigBob5909 Yes....I remember it well.

  • great song! i`m creazy about old songs!

  • Linda Hargrove, co-writer of this song, passed away yesterday. It's a sad day in my heart.

  • @ bobninethirtythree: The song was CO- written by Michael NeSmith of the Monkees... Just because someone was given wrongful credits on a label doesn't mean it's true. I KNOW LInda Hargrove. I've SEEN her GOLD records for this song and many others SHE wrote. NOW... try again.

  • This song was written by Ms. Linda Hargrove of Panacea, Florida... she's written quite of few of the popular songs from those days. Look her up!

  • @serenolefire : This beautiful song was written by Machael Nesmith of the Monkees fame. Check it out. Get a copy of the record and look below the title on the lable and you'll see his name as the writer. Next case!

  • Written by ex-Monkee, Mike Nesmith. :D

  • Beautiful lyric...and Lynn has heartbreaking conviction in her delivery.

  • if she could put down the bottle her life would be better

  • Alcoholism is a disease. it's like cancer. There are treatments. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Yes, her life possibly would be better, but it's not that simple.

Just appreciate the talent that she is and pray for her always.

  • when she was on Lawrence Welk, she was a pretty young lady. But years have passed by this time, and what a beautiful woman to behold, such awesome talent!!

  • and for all of the pain, I would love her again.

  • twenty years ago someone walked away from me and not a day goesby that I don't think about him or something stirs a memory inside of me, and this song sure does do that

  • @tammarnie I know it has been 9 months since your post, but God do I know what you mean. Been 26 years for me, always hoped I would be given a second chance to make things right, but found out that he passed away last year. Leaves a violent ache inside.
