ok for the record, my dad, Donald F Mullen Sr. wrote this song to my mom, circa 1967, HiHo Club, Wayne, NJ. I was 5, my Dad, operated the HiHo Club back then - perhaps Monkee Mike Nesbith visited there's another verse

This song....oh my goodness....from 30+ years ago.....it was for someone who things just didn't work out for the two of us. Like the song says...I really don't think of him much...and I am better off now, without him, but for all of the pain, I would love him again...for I really have never loved anyone more....thank you for posting.

Alcoholism is a disease. it's like cancer. There are treatments. Sometimes they work and sometimes they don't. Yes, her life possibly would be better, but it's not that simple.
