@Air0374 actually they are decent, better than most of the made in china crap, I never had a breakdown on any of the ones I have owned, I have owned the newer ones with the flywheel, I won't touch the old ones without the flywheel, they were cheaply made they were sold under AHM for a while, then model power and life like
@MrLuebeck nothing personal, but some people take model railroading too seriously and need to realize it is a hobby, sorry but model railroading is for fun, I see way too many people go overboard trying to operate it like a real train, my answer, go work for the railroad, but some real railroads do use cabooses still, mainline and branchline
@rallygsc - I was going to say the wagons were a bit modern to be hauled by a steam loco, but then I thought, what the heck, the kid can haul whatever he likes. My personal preference is, I buy the locomotive, then acquire carriages/wagons to go behind it that look right.
Its Presidents Choice aka IHC Internation Hobbies company locomotive. Its modeled after a CN hudson type locomotive, which CN had only 5 of them ever!
I have 2 of these PC brand trains, there good starter locos, but once you really get into the hobby you'll notice their many "un-prototypical" aspects, but they definitely were worth the reg. priced $100, in some cases reduced to more than 50% off!
yeah, i have an ihc switcher that i customized with a few brass peices. it was my first actual ho steam loco. was priced great! but yeah, i have seen better but still a great loco none then less. main downside to ihc is the plastic frames in which the axels sit in, on mine, it is starting to wear out, giving a little bit of wheel wobble, check out my vids, got some with it and double heading with a few other steam locos, along with my christmas layout!
Its neat, however I cringe at seeing it run over carpet as small fibers can get into the locomotive mechanisms and ruin it- tell me you got them off the floor quickly!
I WANT that locomotive so BADLY.

No caboose????
No train is EVER complete without a caboose.
Heck, I even run my modern CSX consist with a NS Caboose.
You should look into an Atlas CN caboose.
Otherwise your train is incomplete.

@meguell3 Who cares. Trains don't run them with cabooses anymore.

And yes, I work for a railway.
