OK, then, correction: "...which will help the roof remain structurally sound in the event of a roll-over, rather than collapsing and positively crushing your cranium."
This statement about the car doors being locked is incorrect. If you lock a car door you prevent an outside intruder from opening the door but this does not cause the door to have an additional latch and most car doors can be opened from the inside even if the door is locked. Also the doors don't really prevent a roof colapse espically if the car is a Subaru as they have no window frames to support the roof.
comment approved and posted for discussion only. The point wasn't intruders, but an additional measure to keep the doors shut. Locking them couldn't hurt, would be my guess. Any auto engineers out there?
Hmm, do you have a percent for how many drivers actually lock their doors?

"....they add to the structural integrity of the car, which will help keep the roof from collapsing in on you."
-Just a helpful little edit, from my dear old English teacher, Mrs. Czech. "Always use positive forms of speech."
