She's been open to the possibility of doing Alien 5 but only if the script were up to the level of the first two movies-- and if Ridley Scott or James Cameron were involved. They're both tied up on their own projects right now and Fox doesn't seem too interested in doing a big budget "proper" finale to the Alien franchise.

We can hope.

If all of the above prerequisites were filled (Weaver, script, R. Scott or Cameron directing) I hardly think it would be awful. Both of those guys have expressed interest in an Alien 5 that lives up to the first two films but it's Fox that doesn't give them reason to think it's worth committing.

I honestly don't think it would be a good idea to do a 5th film. Should have just stopped at the second film since, in my opinion, was the best out of all of them.

Alien 3 ruined the story arch, and Alien 4 was ludicrous. Where could they go with 5? The Alien homeworld?

@siasti The alien home world and the derilect ship captain from the first Alien is what I'm hoping for. Kind of a pre-quil....Even more so than AVP...

If JJ Abrams can do a great Star Trek pre-quil, I'm sure he could do justice to the Alien franchise....Time will tell...
