Thanks for this nice video. Please let me know whether it's round plastic volute plate at the bottom is tightly fitted with screw or loose without screw?
Hi Johnny, nice review. Over here, these models are around $80-90. Its a taut blower but im glad you recommend stihl and echo over this one for commercial work. I have the STIHL bg55 and 86 and those are awesome. What I really dislike about these late model Homelites - they're not built like they used to. I have their Mighty lite trimmer and quit after 1 year of semi-commercial use. Sadly I can't repair it, because no one has parts for them
@Jon3800 Thanks.. I agree. Just watched one of your vids with new 90R trimmer. Very nice.. If I mowed my lawn more than once a week, I'd have one of those for sure. I may try some Stihl equipment soon since there is a new dealer just up the street :) I've only had Echo in the past.
My Homelite blower works really well, quite chuffed that you can get really very good quality stuff like this so cheap. I use it to clean the gutters on the house and the light weight means I can easily carry it all over the roof. There is a lot of prejudice against chinese made stuff but why pay three or four times as much for something that is only used occasionally at home?
Those little Weed Eater blowers are better than these because they last longer and have an air filter. These homelites just have a screen in front of the carb so dirt gets sucked into the engine. These blowers also run way to lean thats why allot of them only run on half choke and only last a year or so.
I got the new model one today my stupid Craftsman leaf blower quit after a year and some pretty hard use. Great blower I got the replacement warranty with it at Home Depot so lets hope this one lasts.
@Johnnysshop Well that's not too bad for a cheap Homelite, Carburetors are like 20 bucks at the lawn mower shop I go to so that's a pretty cheap fix if mine ever goes bad, I'm loving the blower it's great!
@Johnnysshop I had to return my blower today the gas line was cut too short when they made it they made the line too short so when it was at a full tank of gas it would run good and when it would get past half the gas tank line it would stop working so I returned it and got a Weed Eater FB25 this one works better it doesn't die like the Homelite did.
I have one of these and the thing never has run right. Won't run on "RUN" and will ony run on half choke. Even then it only runs at what I would say is about 50% power. Fresh gas and mixed correctly too. I still use it but it's getting worse to keep running all the time. Starts right up but then dies on full choke, then you have to start again at half but it barely runs. I let it idle for a minute then turn up the throttle and it usually bogs down and runs crapy. I should have returned
@sonicbeerman Yeah, this one just started something similar after 2 years of use. I've abused it, haven't maintained it so for the price it's done the job.
Man, I don't know why people say Homelite sucks. I use the mightylite 26SS trimmer, along with others like STIHL, Ryobi, Weed Eater for my lawn business and it's great. Lightweight, powerful but hard starting. I owned it for a year now, no problems, unlike my stihl
@Jon3800 I agree, the components seem to be more cheaply made on the Homelite product (newer stuff at least) but it seems to last forever. I still prefer Echo but sold off all of mine when I sold my part-time business.
I got the red one with the vac and it was good then I started it and put it to run the it shut off and never started again after that it was 100 dollars at home depot
1) i think they don't want to alienate any big company
2) They test things too short without thinking ahead of what could go wrong.
for example i took thier advice and i bought this electrostatic air purifier. (kenmore) Worked great for 24 hours. after 24 hours the collecting grids get saturated and it becomes useless (unless cleaned) now if it was easy to clean i would say hmm ok i'll just clean it everyday... but it was a bitch.
Yeah, it's not bad. It got horrible reviews on Consumer Reports. Go figure.. When I had my lawncare business I had an Echo backpack blower. Powerful but I personally would never buy another backpacker. Hand held or nothing..
@Johnnysshop, Thanks for your help

I was looking for 26B as in a quad rotary Mazda engine, as found in the 1991 Le Mans winner, with like 800hp, the Mazda 787B O_o Lol
A quad rotor (26B) powered leaf blower, I wish :S

@Rarrin9378 Mine lasted 2 years but I didn't take care of it at all honestly. It's not locked up, just needs a new carb.

I hate consumer reports... they truly suck.
lowspeed 2 years ago
I'm starting to believe that. Our front loading washer and dryer received excellent reviews. I hate them, wish I would have went with something else.
Johnnysshop 2 years ago
Well let me tell you why i think they suck.
1) i think they don't want to alienate any big company
2) They test things too short without thinking ahead of what could go wrong.
