  • I still think this should have been marketed for the underground heads (ie. college radio).

  • goob man

  • WHY THE HELL WAS THIS A B-SIDE! I walked out the room when he premiered BOOM Shake the Room. This joint is aight.

  • they did this cut in jeffs basement..not sure why it didnt make the album

  • Listen, at this time Hip-Hop real or otherwise, wasn't as large as it is now and they had to make songs that appealed across the board and that would increase his image. This was waaaaay to hard for his image at the time. However, I love this song...Jazz's cuts on point as always. Will can flow, but that kind of underminded the image that he was pursuing at the time. Did he sell out? NO! Check his albums, he ALWAYS goes back...he still LOVES doing the hard stuff, too. He just worked the game.

  • You're off point. This was from the time of Prince's last CD, and all of Code Red was like this. It started with "You Saw My Blinker" off of Homebase, but it definitely didn't hurt his image. He was still seen as he always was. In an interview, Jeff admitted Code Red was a harder sound from their other stuff, but he said it was because they wanted to do something different, not that they wanted to project a new image.

  • I didn't say it hurt his image or he wanted to project a new image. I said that Will decided to go a certain way and project a certain image. His acting persona to an extent underminded his hard rap career TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC, but not to the heads that knew him when. He still loved the hard stuff and he's real to it. He still includes it on his albums, but he also appeased the general public with "Jiggy" and the like so his widespread music appeal could match his widespread acting career.

  • yeah they never released the good album tracks as singles..

  • @HieroHero1 definitely true, anyone who has the albums would know the best tracks, even the unreleased songs or b-side songs are awesome
