I record it using a DVR and then rip the video later with Handbrake.

@ThirtyThreeArsenic How do you record video games with a DVR and how did you record the commentary?

@ninjablooper I should make a video explaining the whole process one of these days.

Anyway, I record the video using a DVR and I record my commentary on my computer. I do some things off screen to help me sync the commentary with the video (usually me saying "Sync" and interacting with the game at the same time or playing the BG music into the mic for a while.) I then shove everything into iMovie and spit out a new giant video file w/ commentary added.

@ThirtyThreeArsenic So you record both separately and sync? And just for an idea what if you at the beginning at the menu just play music or say sync and cut the part off?

@ninjablooper Uhm, yeah that's pretty much it. I say "sync" and change menu options or something at the same time. I then take the two tracks, line them up at the beginning and nudge the commentary track until it fits the other track. Not sure what else to tell you.
